The Time is Nye? Will You Be Deboarding The Mothership and Taking a Desert Ride

Now the time is Nye?  Will you remain loyal to Coast?  Will you do a Twofer and listen to Noory and Art?  Or, will you tell Premiere to get Lackluster as you listen to Desert Brilliance?  The choice is yours, but you may have to make that decision soon.

Ive dumped the mothershil just on the rumour of art bell starting back up ..im all esssscited !!

We have the subscription to listen to old Art Bell shows and George Knapp. But IF Art were to come back I would consider cancelling just to make a statement. I am in the Chicago area and WLS may be the station if Art returns to terrestrial radio. I could just turn on my c crane radio and listen for waaaay less than 15 cents a day. I would miss George Knapp. But I love the idea of people unsubscribing in droves. I hate them for how they treated Art. I hate them for destroying C2C, inflicting a terrible host on us, and ignoring all our pleas for help.

Will I be anxiously awaiting Art's Second Third Fifth Coming? Will I be taking the Big Desert Trip? In a flying RV? After standing in a circle with a bunch of true believers like in The Big Empty?

Uh, no.

CampsieNP

I said "if".
Sort of like... "...and IF my aunt had balls she would be my uncle."

I just enjoy the visual fantasy in my mind of what would be going on in those Premrat corporate offices. Imagining them losing money and paying for their utter indifference to what they did to a once great show.
Yes, I know it is extremely unlikely, but many of my fantasies are.
The unlikely scenarios are always the best ones anyway.

Meanandnasty

Yes, it may be a fantasy.  I envision a huge triangle ship, the size of many, many football ships with John Wells at the helm, because Noory is off in some dive singing to the last call drunks.  There is a mutiny on board.  The listeners take over the ship and it is taken to the high desert.  The ship lands and the masses ascend peacefully as in a state of ecstasy into the desert around area 51 and the Las Vegas area.  The sounds of Art Bell begin to reverberate through the air of the high desert and there is dancing in the streets. It is once more theirs.  It is an all night Coast party covering all time zones like a blanket.  As the sounds of Crystal Gayle cap the show off the crowds mysteriously blend into the daytime.  The Mothership is not fit to fly anymore, and the trash pickup hauls it away for scrap.  Another night is coming in the desert and the magic will begin once more in a never ending cycle of  broadcasting fame and brilliance.

Man. Such a Gloomy Gus.

All these cool visuals are making me crave a new Paperboy Ipad cartoon.
Just think what he could create IF our dreams were to come true....if....if.....maybe dreams can come true???
I get a vision of a funeral....and a HUGE party going on at the same time.

ACE of CLUBS

After a decade of Noodles ..... the listener-ship of C2C is of a somewhat lower IQ.  You just have to listen to a dozen calls.  I suspect that in the 'long shot' that Art returns in some form, he may not draw as many C2C listeners as we would like to think.  He'll draw lots of listeners if he's slotted in at the same time.

i haven't listen to coast in over 5 years. If, and it's a big if, Art comes back then I am all in.

The flying RV seals it for me.  I'm in.

I just hope Art's coming doesn't turn into a whole lot of disappointment.

Some of us have allowed ourselves to be whipped up into such a lather merely at the rumor of Art's return I believe someone could build a small industry on such fervor. Maybe even start a web based community to service ... uh ... oh god ... oh god.

Never mind

Actually I never stopped listening to Art Bell. I was fortunate enough to have listened (for once) to my inner voice and joined streamlink early on so I have years of Arts shows downloaded. I listened to them then and I listen to them now. George didn't even come close so I ditched C2C with him at the helm years ago. When I heard of Arts return it was the best news I could have gotten. I have Sirius in my vehicle already and for an extra $3.50 a month I can hear him on my PC. Can't wait! It'll be classic Art with no holds barred ... not that he ever had any. lol

Unfortunately, life will go on as usual for me, and I will continue to hope that one of the stations I this market will start runni g Somewhere in Time again. I can't afford pay radio, and wouldn't know where to begin to get Sirius even if I could afford it. Do you have to get a dish? That's always a winner with landlords. Is it like cable TV , where you sign up for a package of 10 sports stations and Spanish soap operas in order to get one or two stations you want?

Who can ignore a guy with a great avatar like Jack Lemon. Never saw him in a bad movie. OK ...
here's the skinny on Sirius since I just was talking to a phone rep yesterday. Old Art will cost about 15 bucks a month for the subscription and as of yesterday you can buy a radio with antenna from Sirius for the one time price of $20. Phone in USA: 1-866-409-9296  in Canada: 877-438-9677

I'm a girl, but thanks, I'm glad you like it.

That's for the Sirius info, I'm sure it will be helpful to a lot of people.

No need for the empty shell calling itself C2C now that Art is back.  8)

I'm always skeptical for returns like this that have so much expected of them. Will it be as good as the old C2C with Art? Will he concentrate on similar subject matter? Being on paid radio, I'm sure he will have a much smaller audience. Will it be enough?

I'm hoping for an online source like funkbaldy that will allow me to download the shows, as I cannot afford Sirius.

yep all good concerns.
the 30 day free trial period they are offering for Sirius/XM is a good way to check out the new show and see if its worth it and if any free download options appear (probably a day later, like torrents have for Stern on Sirius) before you have to start paying per month.

i stopped listening to the brainwreck that is C2Cam a while back.  however i WILL be waterboarding the Mothership soon.  you can watch but it's pay per view only

Falkie2013

We KNOW what Art's mothership looked like and there's probably room for all us to debark outside of Art's house or perhaps better still at the local casino where they could serve us all a buffet so we could eat and talk about the new show.

Meanwhile, on the other side of Puh-rump, the Snoory Snoory Blundership crashes on the exact moment that Art returns to the air.

No one notices for years, except the owner's of 7-11's who see their turkey sandwich sales plummet.

When they do find the wreck, they also find a debris trail of singed pizza roll boxes and stuck together band aids still in the wrapper.

And a sign stamped out in the sand with someone's feet in huge letters that says :

GEORGE NOORY SUCKS !

QAPete

For me, there has never been a choice to be made.  I have never been able to take more than 15 minutes of George's version of C2C.  His interviewing style and inability to work with callers to make the conversations engaging quickly become unlistenable.  George is a milquetoast, pure and simple.  I can think of no compelling reason to listen to George.

Art Bell, on the other hand, is a master broadcaster and one of the best interviewers ever.  He also can take the wackiest, most ridiculous callers and make them interesting.  We are damned lucky to have him back, for however long he's going to be with us, and I'm going to listen.
