Consider yourself lucky if you think having asshole coworkers somehow means you have a crappy life. It could be far worse. At least you're employed and receive a paycheck. That would be the good life for a lot of people.

or you could be living in liberia.

I won't go into the coping mechanism that decries "it could be worse". Because it always can be worse. But if the standard is: if you aren't suffering a horrible fate then one should just suck it up, makes for a pretty crummy existence.

Yes it is healthy to realize there are many things to be grateful for, but does that mean our lot in life is set in stone?

And it isn't even slightly helpful to pose such a question to anyone, as much as we may think their problem isn't a problem at all.

Although reality testing is certainly helpful in a therapeutic setting, it is never the first approach to understanding another's problems. I can't begin to tell the number of times I have heard some variation of previous abuse followed by something akin to "I guess I deserved it."

I don't care how much of a bungler someone might be, treating them with disrespect is always wrong.

ok I am done preaching.

You may be right... but would it be such an inconvenience to be supportive? I mean either way how does it diminish your life to have some understanding?

I have not read back to the first post, but for a second, I thought that Noory decided to join the gang and begin a thread for advise.
