Is the show boring of late?

I've been listening to Coast To Coast since 2001... Back then it used to be so interesting and captivating.. In later years it's just boring.  Only mildly entertaining.   I miss all the crazies, and the hauntings, etc.   Lately it just seems to be like government topics, big foot(snooze), or shows that just seem like a recycling of old not particularly interesting information on worn out topics.   It's far more entertaining re-listening to the old Mel's Hole and Red Elk episodes than to tune into current broadcasts.    Maybe it's just the lack of Art.. Art knew how to sell a compelling story and find fascinating guests, wether they were real or completely full of bullshit.   I miss old school C2C.

Well, isn't that sort of the whole point of this forum, that our once much-loved C2C has been trambled and shat upon?  (How often does one get to use the verb "shat"?   ;D)

You are just now noticing this?
The show got boring 10 years ago when Noory took over...
Noory never goes any farther on any subjects, he just has the same guests on and covers the same old terrority over and over (for the 'new' listeners)
In contrast, Art would do a quick summary maybe in the first half hour and then go into new material on each interview.
Art was also spontanteous and would often add a guest at the last minute (not scheduled weeks in advance) even calling up a guest related to a new story out there.

Art would even have guests call up and pretend to be callers. Like the night Stan Deyo called him and pretended to be a caller from Australia and Art didn't recongnize his voice. ;D

Does anyone know who the guest was who said she could talk to animals ?

Eh, depending on the guest and how they can handle Noory makes a big difference between the show being listenable or not.  I'm speaking for myself of course, but some guests have a knack for steamrolling over Noory's stupid comments and attempts at humor.  It's funny I say that it depends on how the guest handles Noory... normally a show would depend on how the host handled each guest but with a pizza roll filled automaton as a host theres not much that can be done.  Well's is a friggin schitzo-meat-puppet automaton too.

I have to say though we do have Knapp and Punnett left.  Punnett has his lil quirks, but Knapp is totally spot on as host.  Knapp and Punnett also have interesting subject matter for the most part.

..."Pizza roll filled automaton"...... good one.  ;D   I'd be happy if it was just Knapp and Punnett and the rusty automaton was thrown in the scrap bin.

It's too formulaic, predictable and boring these day  :'(

How many of you posters actually listen to the show nowadays (and how often)?  Honestly, I don't think I've bothered since shortly after Art left.  And when I did listen thereafter, it was usually to hear a Somewhere in Time segment. I hoped (for about a day and a half) that Wells might be interesting, but pretty clearly most of the folks here, myself included, can't abide his schtick.  I can't find any interesting alternative where I live (NorCal).

Why C2C keeps recycling these dreadful conman guests (Major Dumbs, Hoaxland, Molting-Cow, et al) is beyond me.

Not sure if Moltin' Howl is a con artist.  I doubt she rakes in much money from her web site.  She strikes me as sincere, although a bit pedantic and uncritical.  And boring as fuck.

From MacPhallus:  "Not sure if Moltin' Howl is a con artist.  I doubt she rakes in much money from her web site.  She strikes me as sincere, although a bit pedantic and uncritical.  And boring as fuck."

I'd agree with that...  She might, indeed, be a true believer.

I always liked her unlike all the other regulars.  Some investigator though, she never seems to get tot he bottom of anything.  Some of her reports were way ahead of the pack - important issus like the decline of the bees and the deseased bat colonies.  We sort of need bees and bats for food and the environment.  The crop circles and cattle mutilations got to be tedious when it was the same thing over and over with no conclusions.  I get tired of UFOs for the same reason.

I do try to listen to her Coast segments on YouTube when she talks about Gobeckli Tepe

Unbelievably so. I don't know what it is - maybe her monotone delivery.

I like her, too.  If for nothing else, she has a way of putting Noory in his place.   8)

those are some of the few original regular Art Bell guests that carried over into the Noory era...
Art Bell would have investigative reporter Linda Howe on every Sunday night for a segment of his show 'Dreamland' back in the 90s.
He also had Hoagland and Major Dames on very often back then.

Just looked at the next week of shows and nothind immediately struck me as interesting.  Happy that my internet signal has improved and I'm now able to DL some of Clyde Lewis' old shows...

I didn't like her voice at first but listened to her more. She is good. I agree about the monotone delivery. I think its the pre-recordedness of it all. She reads the stuff like an announcer giving a statement and not a teacher or someone having a conversation about something. I don't know how else she could do it though.

Have you seen Noory's guests at his Vancouver event?

What does this have to do with the paranormal?

The only thing worse than coasttocoast lately is coastgab and the endless number of losers here who whine about everything on c2c.

Sorry, Danheiser, you're only allowed one account here.

Another "Hollywood" show tonight. Wonder what is on TCM?

This is the most hurtful thing I have ever read.

Guy

It does indeed seem like it is the same guests each week saying the exact same thing.

I just turn off when I hear Mish Shedlock or John Lott or Ed Dames or Katherine Albrecht or Richard Hoagland or Falkov etc.........

I swear they could just replay old clips of Shedlock and no one would notice any difference.    Embarassing.

Art = interview conducted across a campfire.

George = interview conducted across a Duluth WalMart check-out aisle.

LMH ain't so bad.

Cynnie

Ive been listening to a lot of old art bell C2C shows , and they were so much more interesting than the new stuff..doesnt it seem that they have the same 7 guests on every week ?

George49

I keep passing out at about the 15 minute mark for the past 2 weeks. I'm certain it never goes past quarter after the first hour.

Morgus

Since this thread is in the Art Bell section I assume its about Art Bell's show.
Art bell's shows are never boring!

Morgus

Good to see this thread was moved into the Noory section today.
Yes Noory's shows are boring and not just recently but for 10 years now...

I called in tonight to provide a perspective on finance that didn't fit with the fear mongering that C2C gets some listeners hooked on.

Bottom line: Yes, even though it is a horrible economy I can guarantee you that there are egos, agendas, etc and it's not 1 voice guiding all this.

Coast is nothing more than drive-thru alternative news and accepts anecdotes for true facts and true experts. I am disappointed but what to expect from folks who think Wilcock is terrific.

To all of you reading this: there is no 1 slam dunk crash for the economy. The plan is a slow glide down to Europe.

The hosts at Coast are horrible. I look forward to Art.
