sorry about typos. His boss was from Greece. And he could not be reached. I prayed for a job. We now are in a much better place. Sorry about the many posts. Thanks.

Oh the rejection was done and passed. There was nothing to be done. To combat this I made the most detailed reference list I could. From every roommate I ever had to 3 people from the any job I had going back like 8 years. Each including the boss.

You just do the best you can and roll with it. We learn more by "failing" then we can ever learn without it.

I use to get tapes from Columbia and RCA all the time back in the 80's.  After I'd get my 12 for a penny I'd send in a change of address form to somewhere 1000 miles away, and I'd never hear from them again.  ;D   Then I'd use another fake name for the next dozen.  Since I was a minor I didn't care.  And they though Napster was bad! lol

I've long believed that prospective employers should have to provide references the same way employees do. Can't see it happening tho.

You might have a million dollar idea on your hands.  A website like Yelp where employees and applicants can anonymously go to talk about their experiences as employees or job candidates at various companies.

I never had the balls to do it but I always though at the stage where they ask if you have any questions you'd do a setup like:

"What is the one way you think your company takes care of their employees the best?"

then

"What is the one aspect your company does the worst with it's employees?"

Silence...people looking at each other...per policy you can't bad mouth your company...even if you could, who would risk that leaking its way to their boss? But still it is a very valid question.

Another set:

"What would you say your employees like best about your management style?"

and of course followed by

"What do your employees dislike the most about your management style?"

Again very valid questions but I doubt you would get hired.

I find most sites that list wages and anonymous comments about companies usually have: Inflated wages from people shooting for a raise. Only negative comments. Anger/spite seems to be the best motivation for these things. Still good info even if heavily slanted.
