What is your "favorite" thing about the moron Noory?

I really cannot stand Noory, but I have realized that there is one thing about listening to him that I love. Unfortunately it requires having a guest that is not completely insane which is not a common occurrence, anyway, usually when George interrupts a guest to make an asinine comment it does not make much of a difference as most of the drivel that comes outbid his guests mouths is just as asinine, but I love it when he actually has someone interesting on, and that moment after he interrupts them and there is that couple of seconds of dead silence when you just know that they are stifling the urge to ask ol' George if he is some kind of moron. I am waiting for the day when he finally has a guest that says "Ok, you are a moron" and than just hangs up.

thats probably happened several times before when Noory drops a guest early with no reason. his delay prevents any negative comment getting on the air...

The best thing about George is that he is lazy, so he takes nights off.

He's given us all a million reasons to really love and really miss Art Bell even more!

"We don't have much depth." -Art Bell (I think the irony of this quote is that it describes Snoory exactly! The man's mentality is about as shallow as a dry kiddie pool.

My favorite thing about George Noory? Probably his community activism and philanthropy. I heard he invited some homeless people to his house for Thanksgiving or something. I also heard he's involved with efforts to help convicts find inner peace in prison, just not the child molesters.

McPhallus

It's that special way he pronounces "memoirs" as "memwhuuuuuzzzz."

Think of all the time we spend on this site.  If Noory didn't suck and this site didn't exist, how would we be spending all this time?  We wouldn't have the regulars on here, the trolls, and it's not likely any of us would've ever met.  We wouldn't have that common (dis)interest in the current (dis)incarnation of Coast.

McPhallus, so you're saying this site could be a "portal"?

OldTimeRadio

The only thing I can think of at the moment is that Noory's voice is pretty good for AM radio.  Like, if you maybe overheard his voice from another room, but couldn't make out the words to clearly enough to discern idiocy.  Why, it could almost be a pleasant experience.

Jesus that man massacres Art's show.

True I suppose. Don't come on here much though really, I had just recently been attempting to listen to c2c again and was becoming increasingly irritated at noorys ability to make it damn near impossible to make it through an entire show even when their is a guest that I would otherwise enjoy. Anyway, did some thinking and remembered an interaction between Noory and  Michio Kaku which went something like;
At one point during the interview, pretty much out of no where, he makes a typical dumbass observation, perhaps in an attempt to show he’s actually, at least half-assed, following along, he says something like “And that would be a bad thing then, I guess, huh?” After a somewhat long,for radio, and uncomfortable pause Michio replied, “Yes, blowing up the world would be a bad thing…”  You can tell from the tone of his voice that he was probably thinking "I  can’t believe you just said something that ridiculously asinine. Noory you’re an idiot.”

Ok one more quote that I remember reading about on another forum, this is paraphrased and I cannot recall who the guest was, from around 07-08, guest was talking about the iraq war;

George: wouldn't it be great if Saddam just left Iraq. Don't you think?

Guest: â€œYes, but he’s not going to do that. Like last time, he’s going to put his citizens in harm’s way, use them as human shields, and wreak destruction on the oil fields"

George: â€œThat’s kind of selfish, isn’t it?"

This makes me want to scream "Really? A vile dictator, who is an all around piss poor excuse for a human being is selfish and all together uncaring about anyone or thing other than himself? Holy Crap!" Yet this guy still tries to pass himself off  as a reputable journalist and one of the "hardest working men in radio journalism", from what I remember from the Uni journalism classes that I have taken one of the big rules in interviewing is; unless you have something extremely pertinent to ask or add, do not interrupt or cutoff the interviewee, doing so is a sure sign of a subpar and unskilled journalist. Also, at least some level of preparation  is mandatory if you have even an ounce of worth ethic that way you may be able to at least fake any real interest in your work, also it has the added benefit of lessening the chances of making yourself sound like a brain dead monkey.

There's nothing I like about george, but there is something I enjoy.
Jorch actually believes he has replaced Art, and is rolling in all the adoration and respect that Art enjoyed. (or suffered?) But every once in awhile it becomes apparent that noory gets a reality check, and his little balloon deflates. You can actually hear it in his voice. He gets all maudlin and has, in the past, began to rant about those "darn haters." He actually told a guest, after the guest blew smoke up his pantleg, that "there are those out there who dont like me." Let me tell ya, that made my day!
When I do listen, I keep hoping that he will have one of those moments, and I can kick back and enjoy his misery. What the hell! He makes us miserable Monday thru Friday, right? A little payback seems fair.

All George has to remember is Art turned down parts in movies, and Noory begs his agent to get him into them without success.

Juan

I loved it when Neal Boortz read the hate-filled, critical emails from his listeners.  Can't imagine sNoory doing the same.

Indeed. I remember seeing Arts cameo on Dark Skies. How cool was that? I heard Art remark, on ham radio, that he didnt do it for the fame, instead he did it for grins and giggles.
The best george could hope for is a shot on the Shopping Channel pimping HGH or tumeric.

My vote to this for quote of the day!   ;D
