By Alan Boyle and Matthew DeLuca, NBC NewsA huge meteorite flared through the skies over Russia's Chelyabinsk region early Friday, triggering a powerful shock wave that injured nearly a thousand people, blew out windows and reportedly caused the roof of a factory to collapse.
Multiple amateur videos posted online showed the meteor’s flaring arc â€" called a bolide by scientists â€" cross the western Siberia sky. Others from the scene included the sound of a loud boom, followed by a cacophony of car alarms. One video showed the hurried evacuation of an office building in Chelyabinsk.Advertise | AdChoices

Was this covered last evening on Coast?  There is always talk that we are going to be struck by an object from space.  Well, we were.  Where is that host?  He will probably get his update from the Tim Conway, Jr. show five minutes before showtime.

Only things "happenin'" in the American United States of the USA America count. 1000 Russians being injured is like the equivalent of 13 Americans getting a splinter.

yes Noory covered that news story at the start of the show last night and had Dr. Sky as a quick guest to comment on it.
the story was also linked at the c2c website.

I chuckled at that.. There would even be an announcement to specifically say it wasn't believed to be a terrorist attack; but it wouldn't stop some thinking Saddam Hussain and Bin Laden were involved together (Even though they loathed each other and are both dead) and sticking a vid on YT to say so.

Don't forget Abdel Nasser, Ayatollah Khomeini, Colonel Quadaffi, Hafez Assad and Yasser Arafat either. Being dead is no hindrance to these terrorists. They are plotting in some Moslem hereafter and should be still worried about. Death is not the end for enemies of freedom!

Why stop with them?  Couldn't Timothy McVeigh, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer (who is haunting people), Fred West, Archibald Hall, Anjette Lyles, Andrew Cunanan, Ed Gein, and Charles Whitman participate?

Back to a little hard fact, the meteorite struck with the force of "20 Hiroshima bombs". http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2013/02/15/russia-meteorite/1921991/ Is that the largest natural explosion since Tunguska? It still can't hold a candle to the Soviet Union's 1961 "Tsar Bomba" which at a 57 megaton TNT yield was some 1400 times larger than both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki blasts combined. Is it mere assumption or is there some evidence that this meteorite is indeed "sheer" from the asteroid?

Juan

There are now Spanish language reports that there was another, smaller meteor over Cuba.  That could be, however, just an example of raul trying to keep up.

Wow, that's amazing. Never heard of the latter one.

Another poster here heard a radio program that had George as a guest. At the time, George hadn't heard of this meteorite, and thought (insisted?) they were referring to Tunguska. He, as the resident "expert" on these sorts of things, apparently googled it or something and came back whith a presumed air of authority, claiming he foresaw this happening (or some such noxious wording).

We can expect to hear again from every psychic that's been on C2C during Snorge's reign of terror, each one twisting facts so they can say they predicted the meteorite strike.

From what I've read so far, NASA seems to be saying the two aren't related, that it's just a coincidence both occurred around the same time. Of course that cannot possibly be the case because Snorge Almighty has declared coincidences are non-existent and King Richard Hoaxland has repeatedly exposed NASA as nothing more than a group of lying morons.

and noory claims to have a deep passion to be a "news man" like Walter Cronkite or Ed R Murrow.
No mater what he does,  he sucks at it.

Scientists have revised upwards their estimate of the force of the blast of the meteorite strike. It's now 30 times the size of the Hiroshima blast. http://cosmiclog.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/16/16985690-estimates-raised-for-nuclear-sized-asteroid-blast-that-hit-russia?lite

This is a pretty damn significant blast. And for the first time in history there are any number of digital video recordings of the meteor immediately before it struck earth. Were there any recordings taken at of the time of the blast itself, and which show some measurable result?

I cannot, cannot believe that Georje hasn't focused on this meteor. Oh no, secrets of Facebook are by far, more important.
I'm reading reports of fireballs exploding all over the Globe in the past 24 hours and all this jackoff does is has some cat called Dr. Sky on?
Is this a joke? We are in the end times. Everything is ass-backwards! Shit!@

FYI, Noory finally covered the meteor stories more last night by adding an hour with Richard Hoagland to talk about it more.

Imagine if it vaporized at 2 miles, instead of 20? We would be in WWIII by now.

Holy crap! Here's a vid which shows the meteor trailing twin plumes of white smoke, and then dark smoke rising on the horizon from where it strikes, then a few seconds later a long rumbling series of blasts and cracks as the sound of it hitting the earth reaches the cameraman.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKx97csfPy0&feature=player_embedded#!

And another vid with a great sound of the blast at 28 seconds in...

Blast and some kind of after shocks heard immediately in this one...
Взрыв метеорита Челябинск - meteorite 2013 Chyelyabinsk

Wow. I'm ready to see some pics of the blast area. Does anyone know if they yet exist?

"George, as you'll remember I've warned about now for several years, this was a spit wad shot at us by the Cydonia face...."
