BTW, Praise MV for mentioning ReactOS (Windows Clone) at the beginning of this thread - they have come a long ways since then, but hopefully will get something to the beta state soon and forever free users that are tired of the BS from Microsoft Hell.

Freeware file recovery programs have been a godsend. And they seem to work just as well as the pay versions, except for file size restrictions.

Be sure to access advanced options ; disable web RTC.

Your system has WebRTC request leakage, if you see ISP IP and you are connected to a VPN. WebRTC implements Session Traversal Utilities for Nat (STUN) and STUN is a protocol which allows discovering your public IP address.


In order to prevent WebRTC leaks, Uncheck WebRTC option under Settings > Security. Click here to see settings

WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) supports browser-to-browser applications like voice call, video chat and peer-to-peer file share without any need of internal or external plugins.

If you are using the firewall make sure to set it up properly. Some things to enable are block fragmented packets , enable protocol analysis , anti ARP spoofing and filter IPv6 traffic as well as loopback traffic.

In Defense+ settings enable HIPS ( host intrusion protection system ).

If you are unsure of any of the other settings it is best to read up on it before enabling or disabling to avoid any undesired / unwanted effects.

NOTE: Unless you are certain your system is secure NEVER enable Game Mode. It is basically a learning mode and will assume your system is clean and allow any and all traffic that wants to come in or out. It is better to explicitly define the rules for the applications you want. As you may notice when a program initiates an outbound connect you will get a pop up anyways and you can determine whether you wish to allow it or not based on what program is trying to gain access.

finally test your firewall security using the following tool from Comodo:

As for the browser obviously recommend using ABP ( Ad Block Plus ) or a variant of.

If you need a no hassle application to grab a complete picture of a web page ( maybe someones twitter account for instance ) then i would suggest you use this great tool Full Page Screen Capture.

Screen capture your current page in entirety and reliably!
The simplest way to take a full page screenshot of your current browser window. Click on the extension in your browser bar (or press Alt+Shift+P), watch the extension capture each part of the page, and be transported to a new tab of your image that you can right-click to save-as or just drag to your desktop. No bloat, no ads, just a simple way to turn a full web page into an image.

The only way to screenshot the entire page is to scroll to each visible part, so please be patient as it quickly assembles all the pieces. For the rare scenario where your page is too large for Chrome to store it in one image, it will let you know and split it up into just enough images in separate tabs.
