How would you feel about a monthly Ghost to Ghost AM show?

I'm a big fan of the special Halloween ghost shows (yes, even when George Noory hosts them). Although I generally don't care for open lines, I love it when a sincere caller tells a good ghost story.

Art Bell used to cut people off when they'd try to tell a ghost story. He'd tell them to call back on Halloween. I never understood why he did that. I think that attitude has carried over into the Noory era in that we rarely hear listeners' ghost stories. Meanwhile, we get 60 shows a year about consciousness and multiple visits from the Numbers Lady.

Anyway, while browsing youtube for old Halloween shows, I came across this video, which suggests one GtG per month. I immediately liked the idea. What do you think?

We Need More "Ghost to Ghost AM"

I very likely will be the odd-man-out on this one but Ghost-to-Ghost is my least favorite show of the year! I actually make a point not to listen to C2C - even when Art would host - during G2G. Partly it's that I'm just not very interested in ghosts and partly it's that I'm just not very interested in the unverifiable first-person observations of Joanie from Topeka. After awhile all ghost stories kind of sound the same to me.

But, like I said, I do understand that this probably puts me in a very small minority.

Also, I would take a monthly G2G over a monthly Numbers Lady with no problem.

It's a nice idea, but I don't see any reason to think it'll happen.

Noory fucks it up for me, can't deal with him hosting. If it was Knapp that would be OK.

edit: actually, if it was knapp it would be awesome and I'd make an effort to listen

Are you talking about live, or on the stream?
Live, I think once a year is enough, though without Art it's a bit weak. Hard to fuck up Ghost to Ghost, but damn, the non-Art G2G's have been close. (Would love to hear Knapp do one....)
But there's enough G2G shows (or similarly paranormal/ghostly themed) out there for the stream to do one a WEEK and not repeat for a while...it'd certainly beat how quickly adult swim repeats cycle through!

as much as i like the G2G shows it all comes down to the callers.  if there were callers with good stories then bring it on.  i have a bad feeling it would become wandering narratives from some of the foggy minded noodleheads that seem to gravitate to the GN hosted Coast these days

Agreed. I hate to keep coming back to the "not cannon" thing but nobody,....and I mean NOBODY does the ghost thing like Art. He could even make the lame-duck callers entertaining.

For a while, when he was coming back yearly specifically to DO the Ghost-to-Ghost thing I marked that date off on my calendar and "took the phone off the hook" and eventually even THAT went away.

The supernatural is like crack for me. I could sit through a good ghost show damn near every week if it was done well but therein lies the rub,...

Noory following-up every turd of a ghost story with commentls like,..."Huh! WOW!" or, "See? Sometimes ya just don't know."

Fuck me,.....

Personally, I'd like to see Ian do it except he seems to have a not-so-subtle disdain for the subject. I do, however like his interviewing style.

If Noory were to do a monthly,...IMHO,....it would have to be a mixture of callers and relevant guests from the realm of supernatural study to make it listenable.

Though I don't QUITE know what to make of Warren, Maryanne, et al,... I always find them entertaining and, living in a formerly haunted house, (that STILL sees a fair share of sporadic poltergeist activity), I KNOW there's some shit going down that we can't see but TRUST me, it's there.

There isn't nearly enough objective serious investigation on the subject. It's only paranormal till you figure out what/why it is. After that, it's just,.....normal.

LOL! As I posted, it read "111 views".

I hate ghost-to-ghost.  Maybe if Wells did it it would be interesting.

only the old classic Art Bell G2G shows were good when he had fully unscreened lines.
In recent years even he screened caller ghost stories in advance and of course Noory only does heavily screened lines and had guests on for most of the show anyway, which was never the format for G2G in the past.
The old G2G format is apparently dead now...

The old G2G format is apparently dead now. . .and still haunts us.
Redemption is called for.  Perform an on-air seance' and recall the spirits that have departed. (It'll make up for Ouija gone bad.)

I could listen to a G2G show every day (well maybe a monthly show) but only if it was hosted by Art.

George somehow @#$% up the un@#$%upable.

Most of the callers now are so horrible that I think it would be as bad or worse than the normal show. Noory is so terrible that it would probably be a wash though because I have to assume that the average non-professional would be about the same quality as G.N.

OK, I agree. Lets have a Ghot-to-Ghost each month. Which weekday do you feel would be the most accommodating to callers - Saturday?
