Okay, if you insist, let's talk about you. First off, thanks for clearly declaring your feelings on some important stuff, instead of just sitting back and letting BellGab's Worst speak for you. Presumably, some part of you wanted this conversation and making my criticism Top Right Corner has done the job of prompting it.

Just in case anyone is unclear, here are the posters you're gladly and enthusiastically giving a platform to and endorsing, a couple of whom you've named: Jew-haters, Holocaust-deniers, black-hating bigots, and assorted other dregs of humanity. These are the people whose right to free speech you feel a personal need to champion and whose message you don't mind helping to spread. This is, from your point of view, the ultimate proof of how much you treasure the First Amendment. A true patriot, you are.

Now, I object to this otherwise wonderful site being fouled with this odious garbage and you feel what? Bullied. You are now the victim. The victims aren't the people who have actually been hurt by discrimination, injustice and genocide. No, you're the victim because someone is pointing out the side you've chosen to defend.

And then there's your pet frog and your crowd's oh-so-clever plot to suck all the knee-jerk liberals and progressives into, once again, showing how lame they really are by, heavens, attacking a cartoon frog. 

Well, speaking for myself (and, I'm sure a number of people), I am no progressive and I saw the Pepe ploy very clearly as soon as he hopped into view. All it took to come up with the Pepe meme is an unhappy, out of work, former ad guy (maybe he worked on MetLife's Snoopy or a similar campaign) who can't get a job and is taking his frustrations out by joining the Alt Right (sorry, Gravity, still waiting for an alternate term). There's a reason, btw, that guy would be out of work.

So, yes, I and others can see past the poor little froggy.

Now, as for you finding that triple-parenthesed slice of malignant tumor somehow to be a better person or maybe more deserving of respect than me, that speaks for itself. Every member here, except for your foul friends, knows what a true POS he is.

MV doesn't need me to defend him, but I ought to point out a couple of things.

BG is no different to every other part of life; there is good and bad on offer and you can always ignore the bad if you choose to. Nothing is won or lost here and if things get a bit tiresome (as they have for me on occasion) then it's a good idea to step away and do something else for a while. It's not worth losing sleep or hair in bothering about the opinions of a few anonymous posters. If he starts curating the forum rather than let it be itself then that's the very definition of the good intention that leads you straight to hell. Soon it would become unusable. MV would have created a precedent and would get besieged with messages demanding he expunge this or that post because it crossed an arbitrary line. The hands-off approach is really the only way to go if you want somewhere that is actually interesting, rather than a hang-out for cat-ladies. I don't think it's fair to see it as an endorsement. Free speech involves defending the right to speak for some pretty unpleasant characters. It has to be that way, because once you start censoring people, sooner or later the censoring process gets round to you too.

There's a lot of material here I skip over for one reason or another, mostly because it's boring, but you get to know the ones who are deliberately unpleasant and you develop a kind of mental filtering process, so soon you barely even notice they are there any more. Getting offended is your choice here. It's a gun that you load, point and fire at yourself. Nobody does that for you, and making a fuss just encourages the troublemakers to up the ante and do even more to piss you off. You are playing their game and getting sucked into their little world. It's really not worth your time.

Look for the episode with Courtney Brown who claimed to remote viewed the object in the comet as an alien mothership or some such nonsense. Art took a lot of heat after the suicides but it was Courtney Brown that opened up the can of worms on C2C.
