I don't think people know an honest person when they see one these days Art.   There seems to be a generational factor involved as well, though it is hard to determine here.

Generational factor?.. Either you're wise beyond your age.. or you have wisdom gained from being ... Oh never mind.. ::)

Jesus Dude.  Let it go.

I give you credit though.  You do sound like a typical Bernie Sanders supporter with your irrationality and prose.

LOL.  Ain't that the truth!  Laserjock and his hissy fits are legendary on Bellgab.

It's o.k., Art.
I wish you had gone with the name "The Art Bell Show", though.

Semper Gabber.

And that is part of the crux of the problem, as my BIL said, the "new" show was just more of the old, the "same old shit", same old guests, not ground breaking.

Yes, I thought I had something in common with Art, but I didn't. My woman is neither a child bride, nor have I renamed her (and her name could be mistaken also, something that often happens with many Pinoy names for Americans), and that I dared love someone from elsewhere, but I had Art wrong. And no, I am not pissed about that, why should I care other than feel annoyed about it?

And yes, I am ashamed I was a sucker. Art, I wasn't a troll, and you might insist that somehow suddenly those like me that don't believe your lines any more are trolls, well, we aren't, you are going to have to live with the idea that you just don't have credibility even with some really die hard fans now.

If someone had been shooting at me, and endangering my wife and kid, I'd damned well have hired guns and NOT cowered away from the stage to give them just what they wanted. Giving them what they wanted just encourages them to terrify us more.

And, for the record, call your wife her born name, she probably says she doesn't mind, but deep inside it does, but it suits your narrative to call her something that isn't her given name, huh? What about thinking for her and what she'd want?

You are a huckster Art, your career is built on it, and you've insisted that hucksters were being honest, we've all seen or heard you do that, and we all knew it was true. That's the key to your career. And I envied you once, but no longer do, but I don't envy Miles Davis any longer either.
Your candidate "Sanders" is a victim of a changed name (in his case his surname by his dad when he emigrated here.) A lot of people who move to the US change their name, take nicknames, etc. Another common example, many, if not most, Chinese have an "English name" which they use (as opposed to their real, given name.) What is the big deal? Anglicization of a name or 'changing it' is very common. Sometimes even was done against their will during the immigration processing. (In days when people would come over legally.)

You are a little late to the party.  The hatred is dissipating and we are having a love in, again.  Come back next week...

You didn't answer the question.  How much of this new found hatred and disappointment comes from Art supporting a man who will not support your son?

I don't like loooong posts either, especially the walls of text some write.

I'm trying to frame a question without sounding rude... And, I fear I'm failing.  I really wonder why bother starting MITD with COPD?  The stalker is unforeseeable, but COPD, generally does not go from mild to debilitating that quickly.  Why do the show in the first place?

I genuinely do wish Art the best and hope that he takes the health he has left and enjoys his time with his wife and daughter doing all of the stuff that makes him happy...

WOTR, maybe Art just mostly figured it was probably his last chance to get back on the air and have a good go at it.

WTF?

I thought Art Bell was banned.

He hit the "Donate!" button, and MV lifted the ban.  Or that's what somebody gossiped to me via a PM.

Yeah... Art did mention after that the COPD has got quite a bit worse in the last few months.  I wonder if some of that was the physical stress of doing an all night show and trying to be there with his family in the day.  He isn't 30 anymore...

It's MV's fault. He made him talk for 2 hours straight on the GABCAST. He should have given the guy some breaks.

I used to Praise MV.

I was legitimately interested in the answer. A real answer.. not just a no.

Then you ask him, Clouseau!

I don't get how you don't think I knew she was going to object to being referred to as (Redacted,) but you can't even spell, so whatever.

Just want to pop in here and say to everyone, "hi, and goodbye".  I've had my fill of the attitude and the treatment of liberalism.  My apologies, but I just am at a place philisophically where some of the sucking up to Art (I LOVE Art, but some stuff here is just plain too much), and the berating of people such as gays is just not the kind of thing I want to spend what little time I have with.  Don't get me wrong, you are all very interesting people and some of you are even pretty bright, but I just don't have the stamina or value system to spend time here when I can spend it renewing my technical education (I'm trying to do a career shift for the better).  God bless you all, and please don't reply and go off topic, I won't even come here to see the replies anyways.  May you all fare well, but I'm outa here.  Peace all!

You were all up in Art's ass until you found out he supports Donald Trump.  Period, end of story.

Dang, you are one severely retarded mf-er

For years and years I have been writing "there error of my way" not realizing it was 'err' and nobody bothered to correct me. So when I finally was corrected and realized the err of my way-  I felt really stupid.

Yes, Bernie's dad's last name was "Sander" I understand, but either he or Bernie chose that themselves? Art chose this for his wife, because he miss-pronounced her name on the radio and was embarrassed to find it out, but rather than accept the mistake and say "my bad", doesn't take away from my love for her, he put his ego in front and renamed her.

I met my girl differently, I was her family's guest on a vacation coworkers and friends talked me into (I hadn't traveled to the Far East and at the time was going through a heart break and was very shy but was building a cool and exciting career) traveling there. I loved my Pinoy friends and wanted to learn more about their culture and history so I went there and met the family and formed a bond and fell in love, not just with my wife, but her entire family there.

Sadly, I lost my career (go ahead and shame me if it makes you feel like a big shot) and lost the income and no longer can work such work. Makes me a loser, huh? And you know me so well, you know everything about me?

I don't know Art either, but just like you think you know me and doubt me, I doubt Art, but he's got a history of promoting liars, I'm just a poor anonymous bum who cares about shit.

I had a conversation with an old Army buddy the other day, he was talking about fighting with his wife.  I asked him if they were getting a dee-vorce, he said nope, he illustrated it by quoting himself, "Bye honey, I love you, but I just don't like you right now."  I naturally filed that for later use, and here it is the situation I needed it for.  I may have some mild latent prognostication abilty, or slight mental retardation, Not Sure...

You've mistaken us for someone that cares about your life.  Try talking original ideas then you might get a better response.

And yet you DO care, you and the others, because you are focusing anger at me when it should be on the huckster who conned you for years to listen to him just as he conned me. I am a sucker.

No, I've known Art to be a bit of a wing nut for years and years, but supporting the racist bastard that Trump is, that's just sad. Trump is using the Hitler tactic, blame Jews for the depression and kill them, and distract them from the real problem, which is, people JUST LIKE HIM. Trump is just another billionaire who made his money by not earning it, but by stealing it, and people love him for it. Bell is the same thing.

I don't presume to know you at all!! This is some internet board about a talk-show decades old that doesn't exist anymore! But that we all enjoyed. I'm just pointing out that many people change names, take nicknames, accept bad mispronunciations, etc- especially if the emigrate to another country. I hope you find a new job. No shame in losing a job or even a career (well I guess in some circumstance- but I'm assuming you did nothing criminal.) I hope you find a new one or new direction. Heck, considering you liked it and the culture and now have family-bonds you could consider moving over there (dollar goes a longer way there if you can figure out a job there.) It, usually, doesn't help to think as oneself as a "poor anonymous bum" though for finding a new job, career, or just in general.

Yeah, I effed up one time making a joke about a guy named Hoboken. I asked him if that was what was pinned on his shirt when he got off the boat. He said yes, his mother had died on the boat and someone pinned Hoboken on his jacket because that is where is relatives lived in the US. When he got to Ellis Island, that is what they named him because he couldn't spell his last name.

I slinked away feeling like a complete ass.
