We know they tried to change hosts which Heather tried to turn into sexist thing and prompted her to have a melt down just what? A week or two ago?

Did she in fact pull a meltdown?  I have lost some respect for her if so.

The women in my family don't cry, so I've gone through life immune to those kind of histrionics.  When people start making weird noises I just look at them funny.

This is like saying that you're glad that crap floats. Why? Why not hope that it sinks sooner rather than later and helps to replenish the Earth's nitrogen and methane supplies?

Why not pick another show? There is no guarantee the show, if it fails, will be replaced. If you are making an economic argument, then choosing another product is a much more efficient way for replacement.

Because I prefer MITD to C2C. Simple as that.

Simple explanations are the best; someone is sure to tell you, you're wrong.

MV no one is saying that you should not make money of your forum. Here is the point I was making when you got the chance to do the interview with Art why did you not say Art I am going to pass because I have already said that I dont care if you come back or not...

i'm not sure how my saying that is connected to interviewing or not interviewing him on the gabcast, a show about a forum focused on him.

Quote
better still why did you not say the forum wont be called bellgab much longer because I have said on a previous podcast the name has no meaning any longer.

are you asking why i didn't say that during the interview?  never occurred to me as something to bring up, i suppose.  there are plenty of things i could have said but didn't.  so what.  i guess i don't get what you're so bothered over.

Quote
I guess what im saying MV is dont say one thing on a podcast then Fawn all over the man like a long lost Father in an interview.

go back to the interview and point out the time stamp and quote where i did this, champ.

I don't know man, you don't start negotiating and throwing money figures around unless you're serious. Which as bateman said on the GabCast, that's where they were at with him and Howard. Fortunately both of those dudes are smart enough to not be Captain of the Titanic for the last few hours. The strange thing is the ultimate decision lies with Keith yet I don't think Keith has options because he's tried to replace her but anyone with a brain and experience would say fuck it.

So they're in this awkward position of being in a disabled submarine that's approaching crash depth and they don't have any choice but to ride it out until the subs dry out and they start running in the red.

Well, their choice of course as far as how they want to go out. Personally, I think it's better to go out this way:

Why are they dropping contact mines instead of depth charges?  Was that ever done?

I can't believe I'm having to defend Noory, but at least noory has good pipes for radio, even if the lights are on but nobody is home. With Heather, the pipes aren't there, and the interest isn't there.  Meh...

Ian punnet should start a podcast.

Right, and no one should expect any guarantees. I do listen elsewhere, but this is a "shit or get off the pot" situation for Art. I'm simply suggesting he do one thing or the other. We'll either get him back and/or get someone decent or get nothing at all. Those are all reasonable options.

It's a shit or get off the pot, to tou. Obviously, not so much for Art. I agree, your three options are reasonable. However, again obviously not so much for Art.

Have you ever had anyone say to you in life "I hope you fail"? What benefit to you or anyone else is there in the network folding? It's just negativity for negativity's sake. Seems stupid.

It's a minefield, like the environment MITD is trying to succeed in. It was done all the time.

Given a choice between avoiding mines and dying of asphyxiation, I would choose the former.

Shit or get off the post for the listeners I imagine. I liked Neil Boortz, I don't particularly care for Herman Cain. I don't post over and over how much Neil should have vetted his replacement, I just moved on..no biggie. No drama; it was no big deal. Why certain posters keep bleating I have no idea. It's just a fucking radio show. Those fuckers don't owe you anything.  :D

I could. But I choose not to. I choose to listen to and support MITD.

Do what you want to. I really don't care.

You just like to "discuss" and/or 'argue" I get it. Even your random Teddy bear post contained a challenge to justify an answer lol. I "get you."  ;) I'm just not going to engage in pages of justification.

You don't like the show? Don't listen.

You like the show? Listen. Pretty easy.  ;D

No, I didn't say that. You are extrapolating that. I do say that I hope that the network succeeds -- and succeeds only because it is a worthwhile thing that deserves to exist and prosper. I am not, in general, in favor of crap being regarded as something decent and being rewarded for being crap.

Yes, I agree that Art is not there yet. I think he has very little time to get there before the depth gauge gets too far in the red and things just fold. I hope he has a moment of clarity before that happens.

Boy I have struggled to remain neutral in all this hate but I have had it up to here and now feel Art lied about everything, would not know the truth if it bit him in the ass. He is the most disingenuous Con Man I have ever heard, simply a lying SOB. Beyond that I don't trust him, if I don't stop now I will Vomit, I will never listen to that Pussy again and want my money back.

Not Sure that I "get this," Art.

Here comes my free unsolicited advice, man.

You are the self-depreciating type I think, or at least I get that impression from the many times and years I have listened to you on air.  I too, engage in the that sort of humor, and it is a sort of humor.  Much like sarcasm, my Grandfather used to say that sarcasm was the "ugliest form of humor," and over the years as I continue to use sarcasm as a form of humor, I go from agreeing with my Grandfather to disagreeing with him on that.  Sarcasm, or its lighter variants sardonicism(sp?) and facetiousness, are probably safe to use among friends without generating undue ill-will.  Among strangers, however, especially in the sarcastic mood, they should be avoided, or at best used with care.

My life-long ruminations on my use of sarcasm, and dark humor in general have led me to realize that both of those linguistic tools are, in a way, harmful.  Either, as in the case of sarcasm, to point out the absurdity or foolishness of the target's question or thought, or as in the case of dark humor;  an attempt to make light of pain, tragedy, foolishness &c.  Among friends and family, if not used with a sharp intent to wound, it can be illustrative of a painful life lesson learned if the audience is familiar (in all senses of the word, familial or well known acquaintances.)  Among, strangers, Not So Much.

I prefaced my unsolicited free advice, with yet more unsolicited free advice, man.

Those forms of sarcasm that I have used and will continue to use, have occasionally, when paired with my own innate self-depreciation re-enforced that "little voice" inside my head.  We all have that voice;  the one you hear that occasionally tells you "You are an idiot," or "Block-head, that was a real smooth move" &c.

It was one of my favorite (and most hated) NCOs a few years back, that gave me the nugget of wisdom that I will share with you.  I had done something bone-headed, either a big or small bone-head move, and we were out in the "smoke-shack" break area some time after.  I was joking and jiving with my friends and co-workers about my latest idiot move, making fun of myself.

The Sergeant let me go on for a bit, and then stopped me, and said "I appreciate what you are doing, and yeah you made the mistake, and it is good that you can laugh about it.  You shouldn't beat yourself up like that so much.  There are plenty of other people in the world who will do that for you.  If you do that to yourself as well there is a chance you will start to believe that bullshit.  We all make mistakes, man."

I think the good Sergeant was being a bit sardonical, and facetious but with the aim of illustrating a life lesson.  Knowing that good NCO, he was the pot calling the kettle black;  as he himself was a self-derppreciating type himself, but he did have a point.  I think his point was:

We are our own worst critic.

I think critics are pussies, sir.

Heh.

Have a good day, sir.

I said, good day!

0)  {/Cyclops_smiley}

EdiotToAdd:  I now recall that the good Sergeant later pulled me aside to emphasize his point further.  He said something along the lines:  "Be careful with that self-depreciation, if people that don't know you well hear you saying that you are stupid, they will very probably come to believe it.  You know, and I know, that isn't true.  That said, don't you go changing, bro."
