Actually on the test show it was mentioned she might be on open lines shows to add another voiace.  If Art really wanted her to take over he could have had her fill in on his nights off.  My opinion is that he regrets quitting like he did and is ham-handedly trying to fix the situation as best he can.  Unfortunately he is just dumping gasoline on the fire.  I'm neither an Art basher nor an Art defender.  I just enjoyed listening to him on the radio.  I'm sad he's gone but suspect I'll survive.  What baffles me the most is both the piling-on and defending.

Art took down his Facebook when he proclaimed he was done with social media and when he brought it back up, the post about the $20,000 reward was mysteriously gone and never heard from again.
