Night Bird Flying.
Recorded at Electric Lady on June 16, 1970, with Mitch Mitchell (dr) and Billy Cox (ba). Overdub sessions on August 14 and 22.
Night Bird Flying was slated to be the flip-side of a planned Dolly Dagger single. Jimi compared the two songs and concluded that Night Bird `is nicer, much more of a real song'. Asked for his opinion about popular music at that time he replied `It's a reflection. See the reflection is like the blues. And there's this other kind of music that's trying to come up. It's not Sunshine music necessarily, it's more an easier type of thing with less worries and more meaning to it.' A poem in his handwriting reads;


Hello night bird. How was your day? Did you visit the gods in the valleys far away? What did you bring me, in your visit from the sea?
Scrawled underneath, girlfriend Devon Wilson answered `I brought you me!'. However, Allison Steele, New York's WNEW DJ known as `The Night Bird', was told that it was she who was the inspiration for this song title. `After Jimi died', explains Steele, `I was doing a radio memorial tribute to him and I got a phone call from Jimi's manager, Michael Jeffery. He was driving on the highway and had to get off to call me because he thought it was a great tribute, and did I know that Jimi wrote Night Bird Flying for me?' Night Bird Flying was released on The Cry Of Love album.

That said, I abhor the idea of threatened lawsuits (whether veiled or outright) by a public figure over what some idiot posts on your forum MV, regardless of my opinion of whether they oughta be pissing around the place or not.
I got a lot of laughs here at the Gab and even made several new friends and acquaintances. I still consider the GNS thread to be the most awesome thread on the stupidest forum on gawd's digital earf. But the whole thing tastes funny now, like clown meat that's turned.
I wish Art the best and hope he moves on with his life cuz he can't move back. Mostly I'm disappointed that I couldn't have made this post comedic because that's what I came here for and what I tried to contribute. But the dude who played the dude playing another dude is no longer entertained by it and I can't imagine this post not being the dude's last. I'll eventually learn to remember to not check in looking for some yuks but it'll probably take a little time.

The whole UFO thing and Bigfoot shtick was refreshing 10 or 15 years ago but it's become a parody of itself now.
I started listening in 92 93. I was with my Wife and kids visiting friends who ironically lived in the desert. I can't sleep without the radio so I dug one up and the first thing I hear
is someone talking about seeing a UFO land in a cornfield. I was hooked and would stay up late playing video games and working on projects with CC in the background.
It was glorious I would listen from 10pm through the repeat of the show till 4am and then try and wake up the next day. I don't like the internet only crap I want full normal radio like the old days.
He's done so many dumbfuck things. If 19 year boys could continue to storm the beach head on D-Day after watching their buddy's blown to pieces he should be able to do a fucking internet podcast after a car backfires in the neighborhood. He dropped the ball on so many people. Seriously I don't give a shit about his family it's really about my entertainment needs at this point.

I take full responsibility for creating that image. But, my intention was never to denigrate George Noory. My intention was to show how fucking stupid George Senda is (there is a story behind the image). I have nothing personal against George Noory. Sure he's not the most talented radio host, but he seems like a decent guy. Especially having the balls to appear on the Gabcast and the way he has manipulated Falkie, I cant help but to have some respect for the man.
After witnessing Art Bell's behavior the last few years, I actually have come to respect George Noory even more.  Maybe someone can redo the photo and have George Noory fucking Art Bell, lol. IF THEY DARE.........
