I don't have to prove anything, one way or the other. As I've never really said I don't believe Arts story. In fact, I'm smart enough to skip all the second guessing. It's not worth my time whatsoever picking Arts story apart. Thats time I can spend on LULZing at your ilk, and fapping to moar important things. 

I simply take his story at face value, conclude it's 100% true. Then measure his own words and actions against his narrative. He felt it was Sirius enough to quit his radio show immediately, okay I don't blame him. Blowing up everything related to the show in his wake. However, he didn't think it Sirius enough to provide a safety buffer of distance, giving extra protection to him and his family. Letting his girls tough it out with him on the homestead, scrutinizing every sound and car passing by. Getting the females and/or offspring away from a danger zone is basic instinctual behavior in most higher mammals. That tells me all I need to know about how Sirius Art takes the threat to him and his family.

I think rather than the sneering P. T. Barnum people imagine he's actually a deeply honest man.  He doesn't trust his fans because he knows their praise isn't warranted for doing something as natural as breathing.  So he plays to his critics, even seeking them out.  The entire Sirius debacle was the victory of a whining minority over the general rejoicing.

We, the uncritical ones who just want him on the radio, don't exist for him other than as a means to an end.  This is normal; solitary genius has always had a difficult, sometimes violent, relationship with patronage.  Should he return again, we will be there like the faceless Maximilians of old to fling our florins at his feet.

I didn't drop in after the Sirius debacle - it sounds like you're saying that a minority of noisy negativists helped to end the show.  That's a disturbing thought.  I am baffled that Art often seems to focus on the people making the most banal and wicked statements against him.  I think it's wiser to take some pride in the fact that the worst kind of people have it in for you:  the low character of your enemies says as much about you as the high character of your allies.

I don't think I agree with your assessment of his relationship with his fan base though.  It's always seemed to me that he enjoys engaging his fans, as he's done here in the past, and during open lines.  I get the feeling that it's one of the ways he gets his "social fix," as more and more of us are doing these days with the rise of social media and the fall of face-to-face social interactions.  The problem though is that with open lines, he was reaching his actual listeners, but here online every asshole who enjoys a bad scene is drawn to controversy like flies to poop.  Only when the stink blows over is this place a haven for his long-time listeners.

In all seriousness, I agree. I think Heather is doing ok, but she obviously didn't want this, especially quite yet. If she was thinking about stepping in, why didn't she do weekends/guest shows for Art?

Haha, thanks dan7800 ;  Yeah I think Heather would be the first to celebrate if he came back to the show.  And I'd enjoy seeing the change of atmosphere around here if that happened.  I'm not very hopeful about it right now, because Art and Heather got so slimed here that he must be wondering why he even bothered to come back.  But perhaps once he feels safe again, he'll miss the fascinating and friendly chats he had with guests like Dr. David Darling.

I'm not a psychotherapist, so I don't know what people are "supposed to act like" in his position.  But I think that if you expect him to post shadowy pictures of him hiding in a basement with his family, illuminated by the faltering light of their last candle because they're too terrified to leave the house to go buy more, then I'd presume your expectations are unreasonable.

Intimately.  In this case, we have Art's story which is supported by the live broadcasts during the events and in their wake over a span of months, and the police reports posted by the Nye County Sheriff's Office which also confirm his story.  Then we have the alternate theory that it was all an elaborate ruse which, by necessity, would require a conspiracy with the Sheriff's Office to perpetrate a fraud, with no motive other than "Art couldn't just tell people he wanted to stop doing the show" - a theory for which no supporting evidence exists.

So yes, Occam's razor asserts that the simplest explanation is usually the correct one, and that we've been told the truth is a simpler explanation than an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory perpetrated for no compelling reason at all.

Uhm, no.  You're making an allegation of fraud - that's a positive not a negative.  Your side of this debate has nothing but innuendo and subjective interpretations of circumstantial evidence to substantiate that charge, which is worthless.  If there was a reasonable case to be made for fraud, it went out the window when the Sheriff's Office posted the reports online.  That's actual evidence, and it trumps the "rumor mill."  Thanks for playing.
