I don't know anything about that.  I've never heard the RCH show, and I've only been here a few days, and I've never looked at that thread.

And whether or not he's a hypocrite would seem to be a separate question as to whether he's telling the truth about the alleged stalking.

Yeah.  This is what makes me suspicious. 
A person would not make light of such a serious threat, so at first I thought it was non-existent, not a real stalker, and Art knew it so he did not wish to pursue.

On the other hand, what if the threat were real, and Art has in mind who it is, and what if it is some old enemy who is jealous of Art's resurrection and wants to screw it up for him - but what if the old enemy also has something to hold over Art's head, making Art not wish to pursue the matter through law enforcement or detectives?

He'd be caught in a real dilemma and he'd be right in saying he wanted to be on the air. 

Frankly, if the first scenario were true, the guy's a cad; but if the latter were the case and I were in his shoes, I don't know HOW I'd react.  If that's the case, I feel sorry for the guy. 

In either case, he could tell us no more than he now is and that makes him sound disingenuous.

He was panicked so much by the threats that he quit the show, and yet he was not disturbed enough to pursue a telephone death threat - was that the one?

Are you being purposely obtuse? No, it would not stand up in a court of law. I cannot break the law by assaulting someone simply because I think that they deserve it. You must not be very conversant with the legal system.

You're framing it wrong. This isn't an assault. It's a rejection of a branded product. Hoagland's listeners rejected his product, and then fully legally called into the show negatively. Heather is a victim of slander, which is a very different thing.

Deciding that you are not happy with someone as a host (for whatever reason) and then trying to sabotage their show is wrong; regardless of how justified you feel that you are in doing so. There are some that feel that Art pulled a bait and switch with them and that alone is enough for them to justify their actions.

No one was trying to sabotage anything. It was a massive one-night prank. Some people then continued to voice their displeasure, but that was just them acting on their own. It's died down as far as Bellgab is concerned, but he's got people from 4chan /x/ after him now pranking him. Pranking is a part of radio. It's to be expected.

What's sad is all the fake defending of Hoagland going on around here. I've listened to that show almost every night since it began, interacted positively with Hoagland, was thanked by Hoagland on air, coined the phrase "Dick Cavett mode" and then was duly pissed off by Hoagland. Many in the Braaps thread were. Hoagland fell out of favor for more reasons than just one of our own getting screwed over by him.

There are some who can justify their attacks on Heather and they could provide you with their reasons, which by their standards are valid reasons. It is ridiculous to say that their reasons are not as lofty or high minded as your reasons.

I don't know if you really understand the level of attack I'm talking about here. It's perfectly okay to disagree with Art's decision to put her in his seat, it's perfectly okay to criticize, all of that is fine. It's free speech. But go to 4chan /X/ and look at some of the shit people are saying. That's slander. It's pretty moderate here at Bellgab, a little has snuck through, but I think you should understand the level of attack. It's truly vile.

As far as Hoagland, I obviously don't know what happened behind the scenes b/w Richard and Rossi. And none of us really do for that matter, except Richard and Rossi.

That whole thing needs to die and everyone move on.
