Podcasts seem to work VERY well on my iPhone.

I am using the default podcast app. Does anyone have any experience using any other podcasts apps for the iPhone and if they are advantageous to the default app?

Thanks to SBAustin for this. He will forever be in the folklore of BellGab.

I tired a lot of them , Downcast is my favorite mainly because it remembers where you stop listening to a particular podcast even when switching to another episode. It also has a lot a features like skip ahead and skip back. Lots of other things too.

...because screw up by making it so proprietary or not marketing it correctly.

One of my biggest early-adopter regrets...

I go back even further than that. Introducing the VR1000 1 head pre-VHS recorder. Yes I still have it and it works. The tape is the one on the top right. I loads the long way round.
I look at the bright side at least I called the Betamax flop.

Open letter to Ed Snowden:

Dear +Ed Snowden,
Are you done doing interviews? I think talk radio would be good, given the right host. Recently, overnight talk show host Art Bell (+ArtBell.Com)  came out of retirement, and I would very much like to get your message out to a large audience. I've heard him mention your name several times since he's been back, and if you are interested, I'll help make it happen...
I know I'm flagging myself for asking, but the truth sets us free!

Grace & Peace,

JTC

If not Snowden, a man named William Binney, I believe he developed the NSA gathering of our data, for last many years he's blowing whistles.

I'm shocked! I lissen to Art on my iPad and tonight I decided to use airPlay to stream the audio to my AppleTV and bam! Art's bumper music went through my surround system and low & behold, the music I used to hear years ago on my crap mono clock radio sprang to life! Playing the intro music with my 1000 watt system and a sub woofer, now I know why Art plays the music he does, it's fricken cool music! If you have an AppleTV you must try this!

I really like my Windows Phone and usually I don't have any problems when it comes to apps. The ones I use are available and work just fine.

I was very satisfied until yesterday. No app I tried can handle MITD rss feed. Tried with all combinations of username:password posted by sbaustin and none of them did anything (each app I tried had a different way to tell me the link is either invalid or no feed was found).

I don't understand the whole "app gap" on Windows. It's a very good OS, it's fast, has all the options a phone should have, the phones themselves have very good cameras, even the cheaper models and I see more and more people with Lumias. There's a 75% chance that when I meet someone new, (s)he will have Windows. Why is its market share is still around 3% is weird. Are people so much used to seeing icons on their start screens and are so afraid of tiles? Tiles rock ;)

Windows 10 Mobile will support apps written for iOS (app will need only to be recompiled by the author) and Android (users will be able to load .apk files directly) so most problems of non-existing apps will go away, but it's kind of a weird solution...

Happiest day of my life was when I threw my windows phone in the trash. Got tired of the multitude of weird work arounds. Windows, like android platforms are like dealing with "software by committee" solutions. Nothing is integrated really. That is why I like IOs. You have to jump through hoops to have software live on it, and the result is a concept that works well most of the time. It has foibles to be sure, but the aggravation level is infinitely lower than my Windows or android days.

Not really the best place to post this I guess, but according to Whitley Strieber's Twitter page, his wife Anne has passed away.

Now that the RSS feed is established and many more folks are content...I would kindly suggest an update to the website itself at ArtBell.com. You can see what a couple of other popular shows' websites look like...just food for thought going forward, nothing earth shattering here....

I'm glad the RSS feed has been adopted, and am content presently.
That being said, I'd like for the recording to be set up with a mix-minus to record only Art's voice sans bumper music.

I realize the recording is being done on Keith's end, where he only has the full mix coming in (I'm assuming), and to do anything else would probably complicate things with the current setup.

The RSS feed was the biggest step forward, and this doesn't have to happen right now.

Just throwing in my 2¢.

It's been a great 3 and a half weeks  8)

They have kept burning down the bridges with every other windows phone release so very end up coming back.
Take for example the HTC hd2 I had.. Not very long after it came out windows decided to stop all updated to WP6 and move on to WP7 without even letting the users upgrade to this new OS. There was no new apps or anything being made except for homebrew, so I had to root the device and install android on it instead. They have done this over and over again and that is not going to win them any customers. Now with windows phone7 and newer they even decided to close the system down like apple did, so that we dont even have any homebrew which takes away the little advantage WP had over IOS. Since they have basically no market share this leads to hardly any software/games support at all. This tactic only works for apple because they had a huge market share pretty much from day one. Also microsoft was very late to the game as well and even laughed at apple when they launched their first iPhone.

Wow. Its on unknown country too. Cant believe art didnt mention this last night. Unless he was asked not to.

**Really** looking forward to tonight's MITD.  Andrew Basiago is a fascinating guy and a great talker.  So plausible he almost had *me* believing he was on Mars with Obama (last time I heard him on The Other Show).  I'm also curious to hear if he's going to be following through with his plan to run for President.  With him and The Trumpster in the race, it would be wanna-be-ring-side watching.

RoseGirl

My sympathies and prayers go out to Whitley and his family for their loss. Losing a spouse is about the hardest thing you can do...I hope he has lots of support and comfort just now.

So I installed beyond pod on my Motorola droid maxx. I then accessed the time traveler page, via chrome, pasted link and got 401 error. Any advice?

Just had to say great show with Seth Shostak last nite Art!  It's a joy to hear such an intelligent conversastion about such an interesting topic.  I love that you drilled down into some of the technical aspects, great stuff.

Me too.  I find the guy fascinating.  It's like this can't be true but, it sounds so true the way he tells it, what if?

Plus he always mentions this little community college near Mt. Shasta where supposedly the training took place, and I always wonder about it when I drive past there.  It's kind of a spooky area especially at night.

Tomorrow morning's guest is Andre Basiago.  He's the crazy who claims to have been a time traveler for the government or something and went back in time to the Gettysburg Address.  Awesome.  I freaking love the crazy ones.

Very saddened to hear of the loss of Anne Strieber. Thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family during this difficult time.

Andy also claimed when he was young he went to the planet Mars with Barrack Obama (then called Barry)
