As an American Ex-Pat living approx. 30 miles down the road from Mr. Hancock's Bath abode, I can asure you that the English find great humour in how Americans incorrectly pronounce (and spell) nearly everything... I've learned to live with our differences and, more importantly, to celebrate our similarities. (That said, I will NEVER accept their gross bastardization that is "Aluminium")

Yes, it's a spa town. I hope you have never been tempted to drink that filthy water that they like to tell people is good for you. Revolting! It was interesting to hear that he lives in Bath, because it's a student town and reasonably swingin'; I'm sure he manages to score himself some good shit when getting himself ready to write another chapter.

Is Charles Faddis the next guest?

I am stoked for tonight, more so than I already was.

I think we can expect more of this from some of the guests at first, they've been exposed to George Noory for too long
Ha!  That's "thuh troooth!"

So I found last night's show on YouTube.  How do I report it?  YouTube won't let you report copyright infringement unless you are the copyright holder.  I emailed it to Keith but I would love to hear any suggestions on what else to do.

Also, as for us "pirates" who are trying to stop pirating of the show, I suggest the term Privateer.   :P

That's good.  Art checks this forum fairly regularly, too.

You could email dr j too. That might be the official channel, perhaps Keith is releasing a few for free to get interest. But still wise to report it.

Does anyone know if there is an official YouTube channel for the show?

This sounds excellent, who needs sleep?  It's so much fun listening live and posting in here real time also.  Perhaps a long nap before the midnight hour ...

I'm listening to the last 30 minutes now.  It sounds great.  I'll bet Art was very happy he was getting callers from all over.  The Philippines, Scotland...  The only program drop I noted last night was early in the program, around the 10 minute mark, when somebody came on, said something like " we lost him already" but then got things back on track fairly soon.

All in all, I couldn't be more pleased.  It was MUCH smoother, compared to Sunday night.  It's no where but up from here.  MITD is a BIG Winner!

Be afraid, Dave.  Be very afraid.

I just sent it to Keith, thought maybe someone here had a fast way to contact them.
Being a pirate myself, I don't think this is going to keep it off the torrents, but out of respect for Art I'll honor his wishes.

No. But I think most people won't bother to torrent. But if it's on YouTube that's too easy. I am hoping that channel it's on is ran by Keith. He said he would post some stuff to YouTube.

Smashing show last night Art!!!

Has anyone else had any trouble downloading the show from the Midnight in the Desert site?

I tried the first show and the test and none of them are working.

I laid in the hammock looking at stars listening on shortwave then moved inside and listened on phone with tune in Fell asleep around 2am

Question-  on shortwave wtww seemed to be playing some fill music during network breaks did anyone else notice this

Can't wait to hear Art again were there any dropouts after the glitch in the beginning?  Those must have been some crazy storms SUnday

I love the feel of the show its so experimental !  Have a great day everyone

I hope Art gets a schedule down for us. I know he's probably still setting things up.
Last nights show was great! Some topics Hancock and Art have been over before but still some new information and I was impressed with Art and Graham.
Ancient civilization and knowledge are my all time favorite topics so last night was a real treat  8)

I don't think I'll stay up for the show tonight. The topic (though interesting) is not going to keep me up I don't think. I'm a time travelers so I have options thankfully. Friday I will probably stay up.

Try right click, save link as. It didn't work for me a few times. Try waiting for the file to finish loading before you do it.

I honestly feel that MITD might take off BIGGER AND FASTER than anyone would expect due to the international audience.  I'm surprised to hear so many outside of the US calling and posting about Art and their appreciation for his return.  C2C IMO barely caters to the US market, and completely alienates the foreign markets.  So last night we had Australia (and 2-3 of them!), Scotland, Philippines and Graham calling from England! This is going to be a wild and crazy ride!

I only heard the archived version, but I don't recall any more disasters after the first one where Hancock disappeared after a couple of minutes. If I had a gripe overall it would be that things got rushed in the final hour and that the callers didn't add very much - you felt that Art had more interesting things to say and handing the last 20 minutes over to a few attention seekers didn't really add much to the show..
You know the motto of the ladies of the night - always leave 'em wanting more.

Art's show, in my humble opinion, often did and SHOULD leave us wanting to hear him opine more on topics.  He'll have more questions for Hancock next time.  Heck, they can even discuss the same book.

I'm so grateful that Art is back.  He handles these topic with such seriousness and yet combines them with interesting and sometimes sceptical questions.  I respect him, also, for not getting into spiffs with Hancock when they disagreed.  He's a really big person.

There are sometimes multiple ways of pronunciation and differences are often made for various regions and countries - but did you hear the news announcer mispronounce the Thames?  THAT is a REAL faux pas.

Oh, that's too bad. :(
Seriously people shouldn't call art just to bullshit while he's got a guest on. I'll listen in a little while. thanks SV.

PS the one drawback to the increased traffic to the site is every time I click post, it says 'Warning - while you were typing __ new replies have been posted. You may wish to review your post.' Last night during the test it was like 13, hit refresh and it was another 10. First world problems...

yeah, that sucks.  you shouldn't be seeing that message any longer.

btw... sorry about the server hiccup a few minutes ago.  we're still working on some finishing touches with the server upgrade.  better to do it now than tonight...

it is isnt it? it blows away everything else out there, even el rushbo (of late) .
this is what you get when the show host has a genuine interest in the topic, and has natural talent.
