VLC frequently dropped at 9 hrs.  Could not find any settings dictating this and other streams did not drop after 9 hrs.

In Audacious it frequently is dropping when one show ends and another starts up.

Interesting and most certainly worth noting.

Been listening on the .mp3 link and the stream paused once for about 10 seconds then picked up where it left off. Seems like if it were to do that several times a listener would be way behind the live stream.

That's fairly worrisome, particularly for a live show.  This is a time when it would be nice for apps or even the player on the webpage to make it obvious if you're listening to what's been recorded or if you're live like most DVR's are setup.

I'm still trying to figure out why the schedule hasn't been updated to reflect Art being on there.  I haven't heard back from Keith.

I have used both those links, with VLC and with Audacious...  both randomly quit streaming or error out and need to be refreshed to get the stream going again.  Both on my patio pc which is wireless, and my room pc which is connected via ethernet.  Prior to the two options being available (mp3 and aac) I never had an issue with the stream quitting.

Sorry to hear that. It can be very frustrating to be confronted with computer/internet issues.
I use Screamer Radio to listen to streams that provide external links.

While you may have zero issues, I have had many. It's not me, my equipment, or my internet connection, or mode of listening. Only reason I made this public so others would chime in so if there is a issue, I trust that Keith will hear about it here. I am reasonably sure he is already aware.

Hope you get the resolution you seek.
Lots of people had issues with SiriusXM when Art was on there. I had no problems with SiriusXM.
What I've come to realize is that there will always be people, some to know fault of their own, who have issues with internet/computer related things.
It is the nature of the beast.

Have you noticed if your stream is dropping after any particular amount of time?  I'm worried mine may drop now.

The reason why I'd rather use external links to listen, rather than embedded or pop-out players, is because sometimes I think some streams time-out if the webpage the player is on is not up on your screen.

Art, batten down the hatches and tie down the lawn chairs, we got some weather a coming.

In Audacious it frequently is dropping when one show ends and another starts up.  This is inconsistent however--sometimes will go over a day without dropping at all.

Sometimes there is a setting in standalone players where you can buffer a stream a certain amount of time to help cut back on any intermittent issues with connectivity.

Or if you really want to go "Old School" tune in to Art on a vintage AM radio and run Windows 1.01 in your browser using this emulator from Jeff Par:

Yup, it's here now in Vegas and radar shows more on the way from SoCal.  Art is getting some weather.

I will be listening via shortwave, so it's a non issue for me. Wanted to make others aware, and more importantly, it's not MY issue, it's systemic.

Here's a satellite loop for population growth and water reserves in Art's area.

Here's a rather strange Google Earth image of an odd compound near Area 51... in Art's area.

He travelled, he lived and he loved.  Only interesting people can do interesting radio.  Hence, the Noory problem.

Exactly.

I know people far more interesting than AB, but happily they don't get so many sycophants fighting to get up their arses. Hey ho.

This is true, but imo it is usually caused by a poor wi-fi connection, or you're using sub-par equipment.  Like I bought a cheap tablet that couldn't hold a wi-fi connection.  Had to re-boot often.  No good for listening to online radio.  I returned it.  Now all my devices are top quality and I have paid good money to receive the fastest internet connection I can get in my house.

I hope storms in Pahrump aren't going to interfere with the first show on Monday.

Just trying to point out the (cue creepy Peter Lorre voice) "we're watching you, Mr Bell" vibe I'm starting to get from a few posts...

Also, the compound is rumored to be a surface to air missile site, BTW

I think people are interested in that area coz it's kind of near Area 51 and the Little Alien Inn.  Isn't there a highway near there called the UFO Highway, or something like that?

Is this meant to be overtly hostile, or just a poor choice of words? If it's the former, the best way to listen is in a bath tub with a 1947 vintage radio on your lap.
