I'm 39 and a grumpy old man at heart. That said, 70 year-old George Miller just made the best of the Mad Max movies and blockbustered the planet with it 30 years after the originals. It was the craziest movie I've ever seen. 70 is the new 40 it seems.

Well I will be 70 soon and I know I have not really grown up yet.

I've heard being a grown up is so boring; they don't build living room forts with blankets & chairs either.

Get under there with nothing but a flashlight, some kettle corn, and tell scary tall tales.  Good times.

Lest we forget in our dotage, the BOXES are often more fun than the gift. And, man, get a hold of a refrigerator box!

I poured my soul into it, sir.

I'm catching up.... Great post MV! Thank you for taking the time, I enjoyed it.
I've traveled many of the back road highways of the U.S. and Canada, for example instead of the interstate system I'll take US highway 2 across the western northern states. Takes a lot of time but these old roads have an unique appeal, that harken back to decades past. Great road trips!

You mentioned in a GabCast that Wisconsin has the most unfriendly people. Being from Wisconsin, I'd be interested in your take on the subject. They can't all be like me:) Actually in person I'm a pretty nice fellow.

Great story MV, an enjoyable read.  I worked as an IT guy at a trucking company during almost the exact time frame you mentioned earlier.  They were short of drivers and kept jokingly trying to recruit me as one, I considered it too and kind of regret not going for it just to experience it.  The customs paperwork and regulations became complicated post 9/11 both for us in the office and the drivers who talked about what a hassle it became crossing the border.  The U.S. government doesn't realize how much day to day human aggravation they caused with their Homeland Security nonsense.

Exactly... After 911 went to Canada for walleye fishing trip, crossed boarder for the return to U.S. with two cars. My car had the cooler in it with all our legal limit of fish for both cars. Two hours later after trying to explain to many U.S. Custom Agents, why we had more fish in one car, than the per passenger allowance., even though all the passengers in both cars were present, I just drove off.

All during the two hours, a rotation of different agents were playing tuff, They were going to confiscate our cars, fishing gear, fish,  penalties etc. I just got fed up with their nonsense and when the impound lot gate opened for another car, we just followed it through the gate. Made the trip home rather exciting, checking the sky, to see if they sent out the Black Helicopters to track us down.

If the debt were spread out over fair use, that amount owed by individuals would be strikingly different.

? Explain please

I'll play.  I figure you know what was meant and have a response that you are waiting to use...  Unless I am mistaken, I believe that Onan was saying that different people benefit different amounts from the shared national debt and therefore some should owe comparatively more or less than other citizens.  I am uncertain if he was going to include corporations with their new found status as "people" as benefactors of the tax system and was going to assign them a portion of the debt or not...

No response in waiting... It's hard being a troll, everything isn't a set up.
I kind of thought that was what he was getting at. So in other words, the high tax payers should get a refund, if the debt was called in on a prorated basis :)
And Guys like Falkie would owe millions.
That should guarantee that Hillary gets elected.
Tax the rich until there are no rich no more, "Alvin Lee, 10 years after"

All is open to interpretation... Warn Buffet had once commented that he paid a lower percentage to taxes than his secretary (basically, he could afford a good tax lawyer.)  In this scenario, on a percentage basis of who benefited most, Buffet would owe.  Or, you could say that Falkie has used more government services and therefore owes more than Buffet.

Or, you could say that the corporation such as Ma Bell who benefited greatly from laws written that gave them billions (or today health care insurance companies who are guaranteed a captive customer, being as we may as well go all political) owe the vast majority as they were the beneficiaries of many laws, tax breaks and outright governmental cash injections.

Finally, you could say that everybody should owe proportionally what they are "worth".  If 1% owns 50% of the assets, that same 1% would owe 50% of the debt.

Which side shall we come down on for this? Probably most fun to say that Falkie owes roughly 20% of the national debt... ;)

***You may have to wait for Onan to get a proper interpretation of the comment- I'm just going by my best guess.
