The fact that you could replace him with a tape recorder actually gives me hope that I, too, might someday be a syndicated radio talk show host.

heh heh

What does that mean exactly? When the show starts or are you going to start taking subscriptions in the lead up. I'm sure there are many of us who would happily part with their money today for the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

Please take my money.

Yes. A lot of us have the same questions.

Faustina

My understanding is that one will be able to listen to the show for free, but if you want to have access to archives of the show you'll need to pay $5 a month.  I'd like to know where to send my $5 a month to, and if I can pay for it month-to-month or if I will need to pay for a year in advance.  Can we pay via PayPal?

That debate was so good, especially Art's keeping the crazies both on some kind of track. I love the "glass domes" being the refutation of the claims of "no shadow" photographs!! And how Art doesn't let that comment go but forces RCH to explain. And also for both including James, to explain their "findings" and claims. Norry would never do this (remember his claims of "debates" over 911, global warming, etc?) And would also end up believing both people in the "debate!"
I can't wait for the new show!
ps: I love the Art antennae story and still wondering about where the energy came from. Telsa theories ;)
pps: I hope Bob Crane sells some shortwaves and internet radios off the new show. Though, problem is, the ones (AM/FM and SW) I bought a decade+ ago still work! No built in obsolesce and so a hard business model.

It was interesting. Hoagland couldn't really refute a lot of the things that Collier was trying to bring out. One of the main things was the size of the LEM and the amount of space available inside the module itself. Another thing that Hoagland couldn't explain away was that there was no crater underneath the lander. Imagine that - 10,000 pounds of pressure and no crater formed.

Another thing about the "Glass Cities" is that there are formations underneath the surface of the sand on Mars. And as Collier pointed out were is the necessary telltale signs of industry used to process the sand into glass. And What thinking race of beings would put a glass city above ground where it could be pommeled and pulverized day in and day out by meteors, asteroids, or any junk that just happens to be in our neck of the woods.

I certainly hope that Art invites them back to conclude their debate especially since we're fine tuning humanity's focus on a Mars colony like shortly - within the next couple of years.

Ahhh nope. Never ever really met the man or Melinda. But they seem like they would be nice people to talk with. You know, talk to about space and time and all the things that are on or in-between space and time and stuff. :)

So many ways to misinterpret this post.  Suffice to say- you and I have a date etched in stone.  Whatever, whenever, and wherever we can catch that first broadcast (stream?)  We'll see you there.

Mars One was a joke and a scam. If its not canceled yet, it soon will be.

I thought "Skeleton Oroborous" was a joke until I said it...

I'm thinking Mark Zuckerberg would be at least as interesting as Bill Gates. Either would be a great interview, but Zuckerberg would be more unpredictable and therefore more interesting I'm guessing. The Woz would also be cool beans.

ETA: Apparently the Anti-Lemon-Power Coalition has stolen my avatar. Where is the Scorpion Army when you need them?

coaster

A zuckerburg interview would be beyond dull. I was listening to an old show the other night and I thought Art mentioned something about wanting to interview Larry King. That would be a good interview.

I honestly doubt the kid has any interesting stories to tell. Just some rich kid who hired other people to design his site.

Perhaps true. Made for an interesting movie tho, imo.

I'm sure Art'd have some great questions for him.

Give me a multi-million dollar budget, a team of writers and a pyrotechnics trailer and I can make my life story into a block buster as one of the most interesting lives ever lived.  (I may request that they edit out the part where I contributed to the "Falkie" thread unless they can write him as an intellectual guru dispensing invaluable advice on how to best live my life to my full potential.)

Sure it does.  Were you ever in a fender bender where you sprained your wrist?  Though the magic of Hollywood, you may be depicted as clinging to life in a coma while your family gathered around your bed sobbing.  Crossing to the other side, you were told to return as your life's work was not yet complete.  After a struggle nothing short of heroic, you re-learned how to talk, write and even walk again serving to inspire mother Teresa to redouble her efforts to found charities helping the lame before her death...

See how easy that was to write?  Like any good Hollywood biography turned feature-film you are allowed to only "base" it on the life of the subject...  All we need now is your first and last name, the date of the fender bender and we are in business to write an uplifting, inspiring story to sell to the suckers audience.  ;)

***Have I mentioned that I am jaded and cynical?

What do you know about it? What makes it a "joke and a scam"? The program seems to be doing fine by all accounts. The machines meant to be the vanguard have been dispatched and are scouting the planet to find a suitable landing zone for the colonists as we speak. Exactly what part of the Mars program do you have proof of it being "a fraud and a scam"?  I think that it's just sour grapes on your part because you are excluded from participating in the Mars project. Otherwise exactly what proof do you have to back up what you have said?

You talk as if it's part of some department in some defunct government facility. It's my understanding that 90-95% of the Mars program is being funded through NGOs. There are a number of private sector components in play. The choosing of the first, potential, colonists is well underway. I believe it was mentioned in a few newscasts around the planet. I'm curious, who do you think is going to tell the investors that their project is going to be shut down? It's their money to with what they please. They'll do what they have to do and go to Mars or they won't. Seems pretty straight forward and simple enough to understand.

I just figuer'd it'd be maor (ii?"} bpoasting.

edit: Dave "landing zone" is clearly de-lineated, 19.5.  Look at the data!

I think the quality of which you speak is what hampers your discernment.
