Art, Iis the live stream going to be 64kbps AAC?  Using AAC at that bitrate would make the music sound very good.  Looking forward to listening, subscribing and donating to the cause.
didn't you get the PM?  If not, PM MV.

deputize a bunch of people on here  Looks like a mission for Fort Rock's Scorpion Army.

Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!"

We don't need no stinking badges!

Badge up, people. We need to be on the look out for people like this...

Art, I'm curious about the early C2C shows.

Do you have rights to them, and if so would you ever consider making them available to stream or download for a fee?

Also, whether you retained the rights to those shows or not, did you keep copies of them?

Now you see why in the end we decided not to go with a big partner, I will not name them but I will tell you they wanted us behind their pay wall with other premium stuff that would have been double the five bucks we will be asking with a lot of Contract restrictions we did not want. No, we will roll the dice and do it our way.

I'm confused. Are we supposed to be for or against piracy?

Art's flying the black flag against black flags.

I will of course be paying no matter the price.

laserjock

I pledge to support Art by purchasing, at a reasonable price, his future content, and I will discourage pirating of it, energetically, but I will not go after the pirates unless they do something or somethings bad enough to warrant it.  It's not about being a snitch so much as about people's general rights, which is a very complicated issue.  But if anyone chooses to pirate Arts future show I will energetically protest to them.

Yep, though I'm not as able to edit stuff. I would have Bruce Williams and Longjohn as 2,3 and replace Stern completely with the Greaseman, Doug Tracht.)

Art Bell

Just for the record, I did check and NO I do not have rights to the old shows, any of them. It's ok I can live with that.

If I had it my way, I'd delete Stern, Imus, & Dr Laura from radio itself.

Well for the new ones let's hope you retain them. And hope also a horrible leak from whatever missing archives might be out there are (feral people episode!)  leaked onto the interwebs and torrents. I can't wait for new show and spreading word. Many people out there waiting and willing to pay and listen!!

Well Art.... there are only 3 hours left of this weekend. In fact the East is already in Monday. Have you made your decision yet? :D

Yeah apparently a lot of people in here listened to back to back Hendrie/Art in those glory years.  Too bad he's not even on the list.  The man in his comedic prime could juggle 5 voices staying in character while speaking to a caller, simply genius.

I listened to Sally Jessy Raphael, Bruce Williams, and Larry King for years long before their TV shows. I remember being shocked at what they looked like. Seems like those pre-Google days were so long ago...

I hope you were an outraged caller talking to a "guest!" ;) I swear, he is one of the funniest ever.

And if you've ever seen his current show-cam while he's doing those voices you'd see him sweat off about 5 pounds per show. Completely gives everything he's got to crank out all the personalities. He's incredibly talented.

I haven't but I can believe it. That is serious talent. He sorta put me, and other fans, off for reasons well-known but does he still take callers and "do they believe" or it is all faked, and politics now? Unfortunately, I don't get him here and haven't paid, after some of the issues, for the new pod show so haven't heard him in a whileI still admire his talent and show, and even don't mind his politics, but just liked the older stuff better and real callers, shocked and outraged. He, like a few, Art, Greaseman, some OTR shows that I can listen to the same show and still enjoy so much. Even laugh or be creeped out having listened before. Very, very rare skills.
Can't wait for Art to be back and wonder if Hendrie will fake him again now. Hahaha.

Aussie Dave

I'm in for 5 bucks a month. I'll gladly give up one beer (but only one ;)).

Also it's already Monday here. No spoilers though from me.

Yeah I know what you're referencing with Phil. The main turn off for a lot of his current listeners is that he's not taking callers. That was always IMHO the very best part of the show. He still does the characters -- Margaret Gray, Bud Dickman, and the rest but it won't ever be the same without the outraged callers.
I'm sure he'll dredge up his Art impression once things get rolling here. It would be great PR for the new show.

Hendrie has a free podcast on iTunes but to my knowledge, he no longer takes calls and has not done so for a while now.  He talks politics but it's not as bad as it used to be (I remember his best years and worst years, but on a good day his show was unrivaled in terms of comedic brilliance).

deadmeow

I used to listen to Phil Hendrie and Neil Rogers on the same station in South Florida.  Two great talk show hosts.  When Phil went to LA, I would listen to his show over the internet, and it was still great, as it was still a local show for Southern Cal.

However, once Phil went national, the show lost it's flavor, and then he went political, and it went downhill more.

I'm sure that can be arranged, if you're the Aussie Dave, not just a dim reflection with the same moniker.
