I've also sent Art an e-mail letting him know us fans have been contacting Samantha Bowman about promos during breaks. The last thing we need is for those commercials to encourage rubbish like that when the lines open up. Last night was ok, but I don't think Art is going to want to have to remind people to keep it clean every night.

Yeah, I mean, I get that they want to promote other shows on the channel, I get that. But I seriously doubt there's much, if any, crossover audience, and I'm quite sure that none of Art's listeners want to hear about Jay Thomas wishing he had a vagina.

Some might argue that Jay Thomas IS a vagina.   ;)

Hmm... I just tried to log in at Sirius, said it was the wrong password. I then clicked on "forgot password" and  said it didn't recognize my username. I hope I can figure out whats going on before the show starts tonight.
edit-It didnt recognize my username, but when I clicked the link from my email, it worked.

Well put me down as another who thought a particular Spot should not be played during Art's show.
I'm not whining or threatening to cancel or anything, but , it really doesn't belong in its current "form" during an Art Bell show.
Just not tasteful.

Test,

Does anyone know when Art is going to have linda on and or George Knapp on??

As I cross-posted in the thread for last night's show, we do NOT have to put up with those type of commercials.  Contact the Public Relations Department at SiriusXM and let them know how you feel:

Samantha Bowman
212-901-6644
samantha.bowman@siriusxm.com

Thank you, Elinor, for that contact info.

I just sent her a courteous email expressing my dismay that such an obscene commercial was most inappropriately inserted during the Art Bell's "Dark Matter" show.

I wonder if Art has any say on what kind of commercials are aired during his show.

Not only the listeners. Imagine what Dr. Kaku thought about that. I was mortified thinking about how he felt when he heard that commercial. I'd say that most of the guests likely to be on Art's show are the type who dislike such vulgar content.

I hope that Sirius takes our requests seriously (he, he), and stops airing  vulgar content during Dark Matter.

Hopefully Art was talking to him through the break. If not, yeah, really charming on Sirius' part.

If this is the only complaint we have regarding last night's show, I'd call it an overwhelming success. LONG LIVE DARK MATTER.

I agree.

....and by the way, is Snoory still on the air???  surely he's thrown in the towel by now!! 8)

Nighthawk

All this talk about sending complaints about the vulgar content in the ads makes me wonder where the Sirius XM office is located? Which time zone? If it's out East then it is way ahead of us late rising western folks.

New York.

I submitted a question under the support link on the Sirius web site asking them to stop the vulgar commercials during Dark Matter.  Doubt one email will amount to anything, but you folks can do it too!!!

Last nights show is already up on the On Demand section of the app.

On the App it says that it expires in 30+ Days.

On the Online Player it says that it expires in 9998 Days. You better hurry to listen to it. You only have 27 years to listen.

Lmao....love it Jaz! I am so happy to hear Art! He sounded great! :)

If I had to guess, I'd say Art has taken care o this and will say something about it briefly tonight.  He must be mortified.

Uhm, busted.  That would be me. (too)    ;)

Me being a ham op myself, I particularly enjoyed Art's mention of the fraternity himself. Then two callers which were hams called in and gave Art congrats aswell from the ham community. Made me so happy! I know most of you folks on here are probably not into ham radio. But Art has done so much to promote our wonderful hobby and bring in new folks over the years. I was so happy that he is still gunna welcome and encourage newcomers to such an awsome hobby, pastime, friendship. RIGHT ON!!

I hope you're right.
Let's trust that Art knows his audience, and his guests, and sees that such smut just doesn't belong among his quality show.

SaucyRossy

Just call in tonight and bring it up to Art. I have a feeling if he doesn't know about the ads then not much will be done.

Either way, not many hosts on any medium have say over what commercials play. However, in house ads he should be able to have the dirty ones dropped off during airings of Dark Matter.

Especially considering all they asked from me was an email address. Good luck Sirius in trying to bill my email.

Try this one to download a single mp3 file by clicking on the download icon next to the show listing:

Oh, thank you so much.  That worked.  Now playing the show in my MP3 player nicely.  Didn't even strain my non-techie brain cells.   :)

It's hard to hate Hoagland when you see that picture of him playing with his toys while the wind is whipping his god-like mane. But then you remember he screwed people out of a lot of money and his experiments vacations are on someone else's dime. Lookin good though I must say.
