I got a thank you email from Paul Bowman for sending him contact information.
He was particulary appreciative that I included contact information.

What, he didn't call you an idiot?

Anyone who would make a fake Art Bell Twitter account has far too much time on their hands. Bell's Twat is @artbell51, but he doesn't really post.

Now is the time, the time of Great Cheer! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D For the return of the KING is almost here! ;)
Now having sworn off Crap 2 Crap AM at night, I was listening to Arts show of 6/7/1999 talking to Rob Simon about the movies, "Somewhere in time" and "What Dreams May Come". Great show, a lot of the topics about movie making and the internet
still are relevant. And Art's love of Time Travel was very evident. I still have a lot of Art's old shows to listen to that will get me thru work the next 5 nights until the KING of Late Nite Radio returns! Meanwhile in a cave in St. Louis a sad man in a fake mustache and wig is sobbing to himself, "It's over, it's over!" As he hands a cyanide pill to his girlfriend Tomasina as they sit on a ragged couch. :P

Noory was asked whom picked oates during his chat last night
His response: 'george noory: I did. I have been in touch with him slightly for several years ever since his daughter fell and was nearly killed. I wanted to do a show on reverse speech and he's the best one out there. Whether you believe in the concept or not'

Noory totally didn't understand (or was avoiding) the spirit of the question. Who cares about the 'concept'. Noory's insistence on having Oates on was a virtual and intentional slap in Art's face.

What really interests me about his comment is his assertion that he's been in touch with Oates for several years!   So, he's kept Oates in his back pocket all this time, and brings him out as a guest a week before Art's new show launches?  Yep, that sounds exactly like something Dave would do...because George Noory Sucks.

This is the most disgusting thing about this whole sordid affair. George is a despicable human being to resort to these sort of tactics in an attempt to throw the master off his game. Go back to the little leagues Dave.

You hit this one! Dave says there are no coincidences, right?  Now he wants everyone to think that's exactly what this is.  This along with his other multi-prong response to Art Bell's return.   Oh c'mon.  <rolls eyes and wishes she had an insider subscription to cancel>
The 16th can't come fast enough.  I hope Art saw Agent Orange's list of possible guests.  Cannot wait.

Doesn't Rob Simon guest host?  There was one guy who came in a few times for Dave and clearly was too good because he hasn't been back.  I hope Art paces himself and brings in some relief pitchers.

After I saw the posting on here in regards to George's chat that he had, and his discussion on Oates, I couldn't help but go to the chat log, and see if there was anything else. Couldn't help but see one of George's comments.

It read "george noory: I wanted to thank all of you for being so involved with the show in a positive way. Not like some of these wretched chat rooms who just spout hatred all the time."

Poor George.... George, are you reading this? It isn't hatred that is being spouted... It is LOVE.... cause we LOVE ART BELL.... and we LOVE COAST TO COAST.... the old Coast to Coast... Not the current thing you call Coast to Coast.  George... do you remember that one April Fools day show, when you called the show Toast to Toast? Well.... really, you should have kept it at that.

Nah. Dave only reads the "George Noory Sucks" thread

That was Richard Syrett (hint). He was known as the Canadian Art Bell.

It's so lame to dismiss all fair, honest criticism as hate. It's honest, not hateful, to say that he's demonstrably inept and/or incompetent. If Gandhi was a bad talk show host, honest people would admit it. If Hitler was a good talk show host, honest people would admit it. You're not a hater if you admit that Tim Tebow or (the athlete of your choice) didn't live up to expectations when the facts prove that it's true. I suck at basketball. If you say that I stink at hoops after watching me attempt to play, I won't call you a hater. I will call you an honest person.

They've both hosted.  Richard Syrett only once.  Rob Simone more than that.  There's actually a thread on Simone.

After Wells became firmly entrenched, they seem to have forgotten about Simone, and Syrett was obviously too good from the get-go.  :(

Yep, and Rob seemed like the heir apparent for a short time. You and Sleepless had it right about Richard. George might have felt threatened by his competency. We can't say for sure, but it's forgivable to suspect that.

Whazzat ?

Larry King is returning to late night radio ?

;)

I can remember when he was replaced by the mediocre Jim Bohannan.

There was no substitute for Larry during the time he was on and there will never be one for Art Bell either.

Though George Knapp wouldn't be a bad choice for taking over Coast once the Great Offender slinks off into the storm drains of the City of the Angels where he could be King of the Vermin in his sewage paradise.

Though I thought I heard on the radio that Larry King is coming back on the air with some new show, but I didn't catch what it was.

I was thinking that someone could do this one and substitute Tommy for Porky in the logo at the end.

Swooner Crooner (1944) Reissue Ending Titles (With Looney Tunes Ending Theme/Porky Pig Voiceover)

Porky Pig Cartoon Ending "That's All Folks!"

And just before the end someone changes the end of one of the Porky Pig cartoons where instead of Porky sitting on a huge pile of chicken eggs, its Snoory sitting on a huge pile of pizza rolls.

Hmm, that music made me think of vampire movies where the vampire is held at bay by a cross as the early rays of sunlight cross the horizon and then destroyed.

Would that mean that Snoory could be banished to the nether regions if one holds out a huge box of pizza rolls in front of him ?

And even if you destroyed him, even in hell, George Noory Sucks.

I can remember when he was replaced by the mediocre Jim Bohannan.

I'd have to rate Jim, not as mediocre, but as even worse that George.  I remember one show when Jim had just learned that porn emails were being sent out.  A caller tried to explain to Jim that filters could be set in the email program to automatically send pornographic messages to trash.  Jim got furious and dismissed the caller with a rebuke.  I don't think Jim could understand what an email filter was.

He, too, took over from a legend and ran the show into the ground.  Farther down than Coast.  Yes, Jim is worse than George.

CampsieNP

I agree with the similarities of when Bohannan tool over for Larry King. I remember Bohannan would be clueless about basic things callers would be saying and it would frustrate me. He was/is a very angry guy. He didn't try to hide it it seemed to me.

It is sort of like when the main actress on a show is not real good looking. When they have other actresses working with them, they try to make sure they are uglier than the main gal is. Sometimes they are really at the bottom of the barrel (Meadow Soprano's college roomate or girlfriend Hunter come to mind although Meadow was kinda cute).
They don't want the 2nd guy to be better. I do think Dave is worse than Bohannan was.

Interesting to note that the Art Bell's Dark Matter blurb on http://www.siriusxm.com/indie now reads:

Airing weeknights 10 pm - 2 am ET
Rebroadcasting weeknights 2 am - 6 am ET

whereas before it specified 10pm - 1am, Mon.-Thurs. I know Art has said several weeks ago that he was likely to do 4 hours most nights and may do some Fridays, but this seems to formalize it. Apologies if this was already posted and I missed it.

Art's time slot is now spilling over into the 1st hour of C2C?
This is wonderful. The gloves are off. He said he did not want to directly compete with C2C but this development shows he has changed his mind.
Well, good. F premier and the garbage show they put out. Four More Days!!

Could not agree more.

Also, I just came across this link - http://lasvegascitylife.com/sections/news/return-art-bell.html . It appears to be written by George Knapp and drawn from his recent TV interview with Art, but there are some quotes from Art that I don't think were used in the TV interview.
