This different from any other night, how? <JOKE LANG EMOJI>

It might have been Art's spirit that tripped me.  Remember how mad he used to get when a listener would call in drunk?

I started listening to Art in college while working overnights at a bakery. The only good thing about that job was discovering him. I've spent many a night awake and freaked out, whether it was Ghost 2 Ghost, Father Malachi Martin or Bigfoot. To this day I still go to bed listening to U7 or one of the other TuneIn threads. I also own every Cusco album ever recorded because of him.

The man has literally been the soundtrack of my life.

RIP Art.

Is that you, Jack?

While most of my memories of Art will come from the giant file I've kept of his great episodes, and of listening to him live from 1990ish on, all the promo's by Jaz and others are a good memory from 2013-2016.  Thanks again Jazz for all that work.

Well being fair to Art, it did detract from his bead & butter, chatting up mentally ill people. <BA DA BOOM EMOJI>

Perhaps there is a celestial Ham radio up there in heaven for Art to use.  Gonna miss you, big guy.  Blessings to you and your family.  Rest in Peace.

Think the film, "Frequency."  I just lost my Dad who'd been a Ham since he was 12. I keep waiting....

Cosign? Mr.Banker should shoulder the entire loan then refinance amongst all Gabbers, without any interest. Then give it to Falkie half way though repayment, just to show what a swell guy he is. Then hand out hoodies as consolation.

I hope the hoodies all say “I survived (Redacted)”

Thanks for the many years of entertainment, Art.  See you on the other side.

Keith isn't exactly a people person, but perhaps he should get a little slack at what has to be a very distressing and emotional time

nah.

So, are you the answer to the trivia question:

“Who was the last person to conduct a live interview with Art Bell?”

No, I think Curtis and Jazmunda did after me.

WanagoBleu

I remember my Mom handing me a cassette tape in the 90's and telling me that I really needed to listen to this. I rolled my eyes and jumped in the car. Put the tape in the deck and went down the road. My Mom loved Art Bell.  And she used to tape his show every night.  I don't remember which show it was or the main subject at the time, but I was forever changed.

I've listened to Art most nights of my life when he was on air.  To this day, I thank him for his intelligence and wit.  His taking us with him out the edge.  His wily ways of making us think about big things in the universe.  The wonderful way he interviewed people and let them tell their story.  (Unlike the current fuckwad.)  I have missed Art while still hoping he would sometimes maybe do a little popup on MITD or even his own podcast every once in a while.  I always had hope.  Now that is no longer possible, I hope he has all the answers to all the questions he ever asked.  And even better questions he didn't know about until crossing the veil.  I wish the best for his family.  And I hope he and my Mom are sitting in the desert of the universe somewhere, watching the stars and drinking strawberry daiquiris.  Thanks for the best ride ever Art!!  RIP.

Well shit, I guess this means Art isn't going to make it back to the chair "every now and then" like he said he would.

The only good that could come out of this is that maybe Heather FINALLY gets the boot without Art around to buffer her and insist that she's great.  The sad part is that he won't be able to help promote and mentor a decent successor now that he's gone.  He spent way too long waiting for Heather to improve and his stubborn ass got stuck betting on a total stinker.

MitD coulda been great, but this is Keith's last chance to get a decent host.

Bart Ell

Did Jazmunda finally call Art at home resulting in the ultimate show end?

R.I.P. Art.

Thursday:
“Download the free TuneIn app to listen LIVE FREE starting at 9 PM Pacific time!”

Monday:
“The FBI has just Raided the office of the President’s Lawyer. This is pretty serious stuff and I want to say again if the hate of Trump continues to be manifested by investigating everything Trump has ever done they will get him on something eventually. If you tear anybody’s life apart and look at every little thing they have ever done, you can get them”.

INTO DANGER: ART BELL RESPONDS
Heather Wade announced that she was going to go to Area 51 this coming June.. People have been responding fast and furious, with some stating she is in danger of being arrested--or even killed!

Talk show legend and original MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT host Art Bell is responding in kind to people on Facebook..

What Heather is doing is a brave act. For all my life people have talked Disclosure and talked and talked. I have no illusion that she will get to any Alien anything but at least she feels the need to do something, anything to move beyond talk and raise the stakes in trying to get to the truth. If we have been visited (and I believe we have) we have a right to know. It seems to me we have a moral right to know, will it change people’s basic faith? Not any more than the Pope suddenly being quoted as saying “There is no Hell”. We have a right to know, she is right and if a act of Civil Disobedience helps I am all for it.

On acts of civil disobedience..

Not much has ever happened in America until people have engaged in some act that ended up with jail or a sore head

On whether he would join..

I completely understand what she is doing and why, if I was younger I would join. I guess if you really want change you have to do more then ask

When asked about the famed pilot who called into his show while flying directly into Area 51 in the 1990s,

They don’t know when she is coming, like I have said I have no illusions that she will meet any Aliens or even get close, I think it just makes the point that talking won’t get it done, I feel we have a right to know and have always hoped it would be before I go...“

I believe it was April 12, 2018.  I went there thinking that there would be fans giving love and condolences, but it was spooky.  There was nothing, just like we were awaiting his next post.

If we cancel our MITD and OSOM subscriptions we might be able to stretch it. Maybe WhiteCrow will cosign.
Speaking of, I wonder if anybody's told Hoagland.  Of course, they'd have to get the magnifying glass out of his hand and relate it all to 19.5 somehow.

The best voice to hear during the darkest hours. Thanks, Art. It was a great ride

Now seems the appropriate time to ask a few questions I've always had about Art's time at C2C:

1) Was the Area 51 caller (the frantic hysterical one) ever proven to be a hoax? I recall someone calling in and saying it was him and it was a hoax.  Was this every proven?

2) What ever happened to the renegade Area 51 pilot (the one Noory played last night), was he actually shot down?  Real or not real?

3) John Titor- the real deal or not?

4) At his peak, how many stations was Art on?  How many is C2C now? I think a lot quit once Art left?

5) At his peak, how many listeners did Art have on average each night?  I remember reading 15-18 million.  I think I also read C2C now is 400,000.  That's quite a drop.

Just want to thank williedee for the Final Torrent way back when. Thanks man!
