Sounds to me pretty much exactly the same situation with Art. Quite a few of the people who "turned" on Art also supported him and even helped market the show to get it off the ground but then they finally realized he was not the person they thought he was.
So I really dont see the difference here.

Yeah, I was one of those people and I don't think any of them "turned", at least the ones I know of. Ambivalent or apathetic perhaps, but "turned" no. The difference is the stalker. I have no reason to think that Art wasn't telling the truth. I can't blame him for leaving the air, I don't see how anyone could under those circumstances as he laid them out, though I would have handled it very differently than he did. It only becomes the same thing if you make the assumption that Art's lying.

I was more so upset about what happen with Ross but I realized my loyalties were misplaced and abused. I was naive and dumb.

Let's say that the cops catch the stalker tomorrow. The judge let's him out on bail. Should Art go back on the air, or does he have to wait until the guy is locked up?

What if the guy has a brother? A cousin from Arkansas? 

I don't see a scenario where Art is ever totally comfortable coming back.

Pi, this is much more common than lots may think.  In my observation in several companies that are household names, both the male manager and the female aspirant are usually married.  Years back the male might have made the first move but after feminism and endless office memos against that, it seems that women tend to be more aggressive.  I was kind of shocked when I first realized this was going on and was so prevalent.  These women, the ones that I knew, were very intelligent and observant people.  You'd never suspect, normally, that they would do such things.

When I was in college I was similarly amazed at the girls, who would go in groups, flying together to Vegas and other places during school breaks.  I found out that they were actually prostituting themselves to make extra money for school. 

I don't know how to react, except that in a business environment a lot happens that is unethical and competition is rough and people will press for any advantage that they can get.  I've never taken part, but that's because my conscience would haunt me and I have a marvelous husband.  Maybe others are in different situations.  I had a really icky problem once with a manager who was a lesbian.  Ugh!  Not my thing.     

Usually married? As in a real and permanent romance. That's interesting. It sounds almost old-fashioned in a way. Then again, the quid pro quou was always, in my experience anyway,  the prevalent thing in your basic corporate affair (with marriage the exception), so maybe that was the old-fashioned thing.

Also, if I understand you right about "different situations," I've never thought the basic moral or ethical decisions people have to make about how to get ahead were really about the situation -- more about character, values and, as you say, conscience.

Art offered the $20k reward because he knew there was no investigation going on and he rigged that because he knows there is no stalker.  It all fits.
