I have to be honest, I'm looking at some of these threads, especially the "sociopath" one...I don't know.  I'm staying off this site.
Serious question:  How much shit can a "fan" take before they just give up, say FUCK IT, and walk away?  I certainly don't condone people here personally attacking Art outside the scope of his most recent shady "retirement", and I think his family and his past should be off the table for attacks.  I do, however, understand that many of Art's fans have officially hit critical fucking mass with the amount of bullshit they have tolerated throughout the years.

Art burned the bridge with his most loyal fans so many times that I cannot even remember the number.  Everybody has a breaking point and it's pretty clear that Bellgab has reached that point of no return.  So many of us waited for 2 years, then worked our ass off to promote his new show and help bring on affiliates when we were asked to.  What did we get in return?  The biggest insult ever:  Heather Wade.  Art's most loyal fans are gone now.  Art's legacy is being slowly swept into the dustbin of history and it's his own hand doing the sweeping.

Time heals all wounds, so give it time for all of this to settle down and for people to move on.

Art's loyal fans have snapped. It's over, folks.  Time to learn to swim because the bridge is long gone.

Understand the sentiment, but peer-reviewed scientifically studies have confirmed that the summation of all work expended collectively to promote the show was, and remains to be, well below one ass.

Further studies have confirmed that more energy has been expended documenting the angst of having spent the energy to promote the show than was actually spent promoting the show.

Video later.

Are you positing that middle schoolers would willingly spend time on a forum dedicated to a 70-year-old retired talk show host? Do you think they take ginkgo biloba, too?

The issues at Bellgab go much deeper than that.
Some of us have been Art fans for 20 years, so naturally it will take some "sobering up" time before we stop throwing our little fits.

But I do urge people to keep it classy.

Art has quit a total of eight times in his career so far. What's that saying about fool me once shame on you, etc?

That we will listen to him again as soon as he comes back on air, and start a pool on when he will quit again.

I think that was precisely his point - there's no principle here at all.

Saying the most outrageous, obscene stuff about George Noory is perfectly acceptable because Art Bell fanboys don't like George Noory.

But Art Bell fanboys love Art Bell, so no one is allowed to criticize Art, beyond lame stuff like  "mistakes were made" or "he maybe could've done a better job of dealing with the stalker", etc.

Okay, so then Darth Sandra is correct and what BellGab has, among other things, is an anti-principle on the subject of Art & company: hypocrisy. I was hoping there was more to it than that.

Quiet boy!  Your mom's out of beer.  Here's a 20.  Go get us a 12 pack of PBR's and a bag a jerky.  Get yourself something, too.  Keep the change.
Hey !!
That is what the pest exterminator mentioned you yelled when you and casioson were "practicing" your scene for Deliverance !!

Ginko and Saw Palmetto for the win.  (Saw Palmetto for the prostate)

Criticizing Art is fair game. I don't care if people are nasty about it or not. They are just opinions. Very few cross the "line." At least from what I've read. I think we can all agree; crossing the line is/are the known risks of reading comments on an internet forum.

Daddy? I think I heard his pickup pull into the driveway...

False alarm. :(

Probably the biggest difference is people don't hang out in the GNS thread and post the same thing over and over. It's more like a drive by or a hit and run. Nobody joined georgenoorysucks.com to heap praises on Dave.

Criticism was the premise. Why would that change regarding Art's situation? Having a party line consensus is not a requirement.

There are no sacred cows as far as I am concerned, whether it be Noory or Bell. If you keep pulling dick moves, people will comment, especially on an internet forum board.

No, you're a cow but I'd never consider you sacred.

The murder allegation is out of bounds but everything else, including question of a dalliance given the events that unfolded, is reasonable.

The Bell camp is unfortunate BG is not as stupid as his average listener-fan appears to be.

Not in the gay way though.

Everything's going to be okay.

I nominate Sredni to write "The Other Day After Tomorrow" so that we can know how all of this plays out in some alternate reality.

I agree with you. However, speculation and accusation, seem to be treated the same by some on here.

A rare victory for free speech in Canada. Gregory Alan Elliott, the Toronto artist who was dragged through an extraordinary 3-year criminal harassment trial after he disagreed with feminists on the internet, has just been acquitted.

Dude was banned from the internet for more than 2 years because he said 'mean' things... was just acquitted. Dark Penguin can rest a little easier.
