Are you a figure skater? I figure skated for years and still do. Both ice dancing and singles. Both pairs of my skates/boots have different blades as ice dancing blades are much more narrow for edging and gain more speed.

I have always thought that bateman does an admirable job interacting with his fanbase on this forum.  They are tripping over themselves offering to pay for his podcasts.  Which is understandable, because he does good interviews.  I do not think I have ever seen a negative comment directed at him on his thread.

Oh my lord- no!  Just roller skated for exercise and I liked the speed skates because they were easier for me to use.

Interesting thing. Every time I hear ABBA I think of Art Bell bumpers and roller-skating; not a combination of both though. Reverse skate, couples-skate, disco like lighting, and all that fun. Having said that cheap rental quads (but I don't think they had those inline skates then though?) I also think inline skates make your hockey/skating skills less (but I know some claim different) because they are so different in feel, stopping, etc.

That's an excellent point.  A critic is at least interested.  Apathy is a far more serious threat to her ambition.

Taking things personally is natural, particularly when you are turning your persona into a commodity.  But if she's smart she'll see this place, even in its current condition, as a real forum in the Classical sense and use the unvarnished critiques to her advantage.  There's a reason Art came here, and it wasn't the nauseating adoration.

Speaking of which, did you happen to be here last night, for the latest display? This place does have a reputation to uphold, doesn't it?

Those wouldn't have worked for roller hockey, in general. But how fast were the speed skates, I wonder? If you could change skates right before you went on a rink-length breakaway, they might be just the thing.
