In the beginning, Art started this new venture with modest expectations. He expected it to be a fairly small deal but, as he said, he wanted to emphasise quality over everything else. Then his ego - and his hatred for Noory - got in the way and he wanted to search and destroy as much as simply putting out a good show. His motivations for returning to the airwaves were always mixed: a certain interest in the subject itself; an awareness that you are a long time retired; perhaps a feeling of isolation and a need to connect with his fans again; but also a need to rub Noory's face in it. I think this was probably the biggest factor in his return and it has led to a bit of the screw-loosening we have seen from him over the last few months.

He is an odd guy, but on his best days that worked for him. Now he has lost a step or two, defining traits like his paranoia and passive-aggression have begun to turn against him and he is starting to unravel. You must be remarkably obtuse to look at some of his behaviour recently and not come to the conclusion that he is having mental issues of one kind or another, and your idiotic boosting is not making you look particularly clever. Nobody in their right mind considers a group of anonymous people on a forum an extended circle of friends. You might get to know a few of them better over time, but they remain, for the most part, irrelevant. Art could simply ignore this because the accusations cannot be defended, so it is pointless to react to them.

Art has been, and always will be, a drama queen to end all drama queens. He can't make any sort of decision without calculating its effect on other people. Even before the show began he would come on here and make some hasty post that should have been kept to himself. People can say that he was just thinking out loud, but he is a grown man and ought to know the reaction he would get. You can guarantee that any of these outbursts are then checked over with glee later as he reads how he has stirred people up and got them going again, before claiming that we are all overreacting. Some people on here love to flounce off and make a big fuss over it. For god's sake, if you are going to leave, then just fuck off! No-one is going to miss you, but there are always a few people who love to make a big deal out of everything.

Art was a fine broadcaster at his best, but a very flawed man. I don't know what holes people are filling in their lives with this pitiful Belldolatry, but it's time to let it go.

I think there may be some qualitative differences between the goose and the gander here. Like you say, most of us gave Noory years before we finally gave into our hatred of him but we eventually did for some good reasons: 1. Noory is a bad, sometimes almost unconscious interviewer, asking the same formulaic questions the same way, over and over again. He never disagrees with or challenges his guests but most often just says, "Yes, that's so very true." to almost everything, even contradictory statements. 2. When he's in rare form he can be an outright bumbling idiot, whether he's burning his mouth on a microwaved pizza roll that a 5 year old would know better to let cool down or falling into a sink hole. 3. He cycles the same guests over and over again. While I don't mind some of the better ones most are just lame. Maybe anyone would be after the 50th interview. 4. He's turning the genre into more of an industry than it has to or should be. While Heather may still be green and a little too self-conscious is she really THAT bad? I don't think she's proven to be yet.

Ok, I have had enough, I posted the reward myself and did not consult with the Sheriff, I don't see why I need to its my money and mostly my problem. While the sheriff's Dept has responded when called they have been painfully slow to post all the reports I have made. They do the best they can I guess. 

At this point after reading some of the awful things said about Heather and myself I have had enough, I am not coming back to Bell Gab and after a short time of letting that reward sink in I will disable my FB site as well. There is simply no way to win with people like this and I have had enough to stress and sorrow over this for this lifetime. Carry on.

I get the impression that 4chan's obsession is, rather with Richard Hoagland and their feeling that RCH has been dissed and slighted by both Art Bell and BellGab. Their TOSM thread on /x/ is always a hive of hatred for this forum.

I have been asking myself about that. What is wrong with a place where pleasantries are common? Why does every conversation need to be adversarial or worse, derogatory? Is it really that difficult to say something positive? Does anyone (including myself) believe derision is the best method for change? What is anyone's investment in continuing to demean Art's story, even if you believe he is completely dishonest, does anyone think this type of conversation will have an outcome other than "burn the motherfucker down"?
