Hello Lonevoice!

If you are right, you deserve the gold star.  But let's face it, in life we rarely get the gold star when we deserve it.  But YOU will know you do, and that's all that counts.

I like the mystery guest status as well.  If its a great guest, so much the better.  And if not, its still Art Bell hosting, and that's great too!

OK, that situation I can understand.  But otherwise I use it w/my card like any other processing page.  I must be missing something here.

Mind you, I joined using a third credit card that wasn't associated with an account, no biggie, I'm happy to support the effort. I'm more warning that using only a paypal gateway alienates a massive amount of potential subscribers and paypal's lawyers have spent the last decade figuring out ways to creatively suspend accounts and confiscate the balances. It's free money every time they lock an account as they figure most people won't take them to court over it, so they are well motivated to shut you down for any reason they can. Using paypal as a sole processing method is a big, huge, neon, glowing, screaming Achilles heel for any business.

While I'd be thrilled if our guess is correct, it would also be surprising.  He's a young, ambitious guy in the best place in the world for forging his career path.   I imagine his job requires a lot of overtime as it is; but he'd be a logical choice if he's available.

Any night that Art cracks his mic is going to make me a happy camper.  He's already surpassed his SiriusXM days, and it's only going to get better.

I'm hoping it's a smart, talented, capable, and amicable gal.  ::)

I'm hoping Art is comfortable and confident with his choice; gender is a non-issue for me.  Whoever it is, most of all I want them to succeed beyond measure.  Win-win.

I worked for a company that took in millions in Paypal payments every month. Other than the fees, it worked pretty well for us.

Why is it so hard for some of you people to understand that he posted this because he cares and worries that this will hurt Art's business??

Because that statement is false.

Even to become a subsriber you now have to go through extra hops like having to register a separate paypal account which is yet another issue that will lead to less paying subscribers.

Strictly speaking, Art could get by with one paying subscriber. I hope that one can spell.

Let it be written.  Let it be done.

Announcing a price increase [...] is risky IMO.

#1) No risk, no reward.

#2) The entire endeavor is a risk.

#3) It's simply amazing how in all of your twenty-five-post posting history, you haven't mentioned the singular fact that Bell is raising his price to one that exceeds Noory's for Coast Insider. It seems unlikely that a high-falutin' marketing expert, such as yourself, would be able to engage in all this hard-hitting big-business analysis without pointing out this crucially relevant fact.

#4) No one asked you, Shillsauce.

#5) I bet you've seen my dog.

That said, they are never going to be able to improve their current service offering for paid subscribers if all they are hearing is blind adulation.

This overwrought blanket statement isn't even accurate. What a loser.

I'd like to be able to go on an Art Bell Cruise(TM).  From my understanding, back in the days he'd go on cruises and the general public was allowed to join him. I'd be willing to pay extra to go on a cruise with Art. How fun would that be!

That sounds like so much fun.  A theme cruise.  Holland America does a number of those, I think.

Not my cup of tea, but Art will make it a great evening.  Might be interesting to hear Cooks' perspective.

Then don't pay and go away.

It's $5 holy shit.  this is two dudes doing the show, not a Silicon Valley startup with $30m in angel investor funds rolling in every quarter.   Support art or don't.  It's not about the money for any of us.  It's about making this work.

Can I pay you $5 to go whine to someone else?

Seriously....what do you know about business?
Intelligent people are entitled to have differing opinions.  In a civilized society we learn to tolerate each other.  There's no reason to get nasty when the person brought up some very valid points.  We ALL love Art and want this program to be successful, but there still must be room for debate under those facts.

Seesh!  No wonder the divorce rate is so high.

Gee paranoid much? Exaggerate much? I've been using PayPal since the late 90's with no problems whatsoever.

I hear ya...it will be a good listen with Art at the helm...but the whole disclosure project burned out in the late 90's...too many promises that went unfulfilled...

What were the specific promises that you felt were unfulfilled? I know we all want Ann Coulter to be unmasked on live TV, but come on, we all know that's never going to go down like that.
