I think it also brings a bit of nostalgia... before the days of television, radio was king. :D

Good point!  :)

Aww- Thanks, Nancy. I liked the gritty, rough around the edges look of the photo along with the touch of humor- and they're ready for an adventure, which is what Art offers.  :)
I like it also because it is an odd mix of the adventure of newer technology and zannyness. It is true that, likely, we are experiencing the most technological innovations ever but it, seems, at least to be so "digital" and quick and not quite as "real" or even as exciting. Whereas I recall my grandpa describing getting a tractor, wonderment in making a crystal radio set, seeing planes and then going on them, needing ice or a cool cellar to store potatoes when no crops and then refrigeration, and then, much later, his "computer" the company gave him to analyze tnt blasts for oil exploration that was mobile (!) the size of a tractor-trailer rig hauled around and contained as much computing power (Norry would call "fire-power") as, maybe, a basic modern day alarm clock. And the improvements in the everyday life! I got some "irons" as book-stops (I still, have books) used in the old days. Ironing and washing clothes is an oft overlooked progress to humanity (usually the mom's and grandma's.) (My grandma, I recall as a kid, couldn't believe though why not hang up the wash to dry. Its is free! And wouldn't hardly use the new dryer folks got her (never complained about washer machine though!)  She said: smells better and cleaning and bleaches from sun. Common sense (now my HOA, in my town property, technically, bans this by rules!! But actually very eco-friendly!)

I like the eclectic mix, too. I agree with your observations. When I was a kid, it was a big deal when one of the neighbors got a color TV. People in the country had to conserve water and often had old well and cistern systems to see them through. I remember seeing an old washing machine that had to be filled by a hose, had a lid  for the top while it was running and a manual roller to extract the water from the clothes. It was an oldie when I was a kid, in case you're wondering, "Geez, how old is she?" It was very eco friendly. Now, there are a few companies coming up with manual machines to wash small loads of clothes in a way that conserves water and doesn't require electricity. The way things are going- it's probably not a bad trend and will benefit people.

Cool post & pic.  Count me in as another nite owl.  I always get more energy at night, as my mind awakens to the nocturnal dreamscape of celestial realms.
Nite owl?  Don't you mean nite squirrel, Zeeb? ;)

Just got back from my night walk.  Not a cloud in the sky.  Venus, Jupiter and Regulus, all in a line.  You'd think they were aircraft in a landing pattern.  The Moon tops it off.  Gorgeous.

Nice.  By the time it gets dark here all that has gone behind the trees or below the horizon.

I'm sorry to hear that.  Really beautiful tonight.  Art must get some spectacular night shows.

I love getting way out in the sw desert, far from the lights of humanity and being full immersed in a sky full of stars.

The John Titor time traveler show is on TuneIn right now.

Got a question... In this show Art interviews David Anderson...  Why is this show called John Titor? I've heard this show before and I've never heard Titor even mentioned...has Art ever interviewed John Titor?

I'll look at dusk.  Maybe I'll get lucky.

I'm tight with some owls in the particular tree I hang out in, kind of an honorary member, us all being denizens of the night.  :D

That's damn good, Zeeb.   Just don't turn your back on them.  I've heard they like to eat things other than nuts.

I remember when you were scared of owls.  You've come a long way, Mr. Squirrel.

*Sigh* a squirrel gets over a fear of owls and it's earthshaking. I transubstantiate from a dolphin into Jesus and everyone yawns. Damned humans, put fur on it and y'all go crazy for it.

I happened to be in Arizona when Hale-Bopp passed through. It was astonishing to see it under those conditions, millions of stars, the comet prominent with two tails. There's just nothing quite like a perfect dark sky location.

Listened to this tonight at work.  The time/ dementional traveler calls were a hoot!  The interview was also facinating.  Art made you wantvto believe what Anderson was talking about.

Daggit

Is it wrong that I am a grown man with kids at college and I have separation anxiety when Art doesn't post for a whole day? I think we have been spoiled.

Just kidding Art. Not really that creepy. What was for dessert tonight?

Dave just asked his guest if its possible that earth could be hit by an asteroid the size of a "small" football field.
(I hope were not hit by one the size of a big football field).

Well... maybe Dave thinks that because some folks play miniature golf that there is also miniature football. LOL @ kicking extra points thru the windmill into the clown's mouth.

No - Art Bell never interviewed or discussed John Titor.
The guy who used the alias "john titor" only posted on the Art Bell message board around 2000-2001 never did any interviews.
Noory started to cover the John Titor story by interviewing the webmaster of a John Titor website that popped up a year or two after Titor purportedly returned to his own time after leaving in 2001.
So it was Noory not Art Bell who had shows later on about John Titor by interviewing the webmaster and a lawyer purportedly for the family of the guy who used the alias "John Titor" (not his real name)
The titles of some of the old archived shows are just misnamed.

That would be an American football field as opposed to a larger Canadian football field.  George knows his stuff.

hey MV have you or Keith been following this new "license" fee being charged by Apple Music and Spotify? 10$ per month to cover unlimited streaming music from "most" artists. I hear the artists are bitching because they aren't seeing their money. LoL Is that some law or is it just a money grab by some streaming companies? Anyway, just wondering how that effects Art's show, if at all.

Thank you Morgus!

That's exactly what I needed to know. Been wondering this for a long time.

Maybe David Anderson is John Titor.. lol  He seems to have gone in to seclusion or disappeared when I do a little research on him

I've heard about this but I don't think it would affect Art's operation in any way.
