This is so awesome. It's important to note that Sirus/XM is totally uncensored. Art can do whatever he wants with no restrictions. The show is going to be amazing! Personally, I think the monthly sub fee is not a big deal at all when you think about it. There is actually a ton of good programing on SIrus/XM anyways, so just look at the rest of it as a bonus for paying for Art's show if you must.

The problem is subscriptions for radio (in car) and internet (at home) are separate. Then you have to buy the car radio, or the home radio, or both... extremely expensive endeavor.  Boo, Art.. BOO!

I kind of thought it was going to be SiriusXM. They have a nice selection of talk radio, but nothing at all like Art, so this will be a coup for them. In the past few weeks, a lot of shuffling has been going on, but they generally don't announce changes until a couple of weeks before when it's an established person changing stations. With Art, they'll commence promoting his show immediately and I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't a guest on other channels just to get the word out.

My car came with SiriusXM and I kept it because I liked the selection of music and talk. I also picked up internet for another two dollars and change per month and don't regret the expenditure as I'm more a radio than tv person anyhow, and if I travel, the stations are there. So, for me, this is exciting news! SiriusXM also has on demand, hopefully Art's will be put on the rotation. There are also apps for Kindle Fire, iPad and the iPhone. You don't need an SiriusXM radio for internet listening.

Just for the record, I am elated!  I don't want to spend the money, either, but I will.  I know what it's like to not have enough to spare, though, so I'm very sorry this has worked out to cost some more than they can (or are willing) to spare. 

The good part, though, as kingotnw has just said is that it's almost surely the best way for Art to do what he's best at.  I thought it was going to be Cumulus, and I was concerned that they would ruin it just like Premiere did.

My take is Art will probably have considerably more control, which is clearly important to him, and immediately apparent in when he will run the show live. And with subscription radio he will have more money than God. But I'm afraid he's relegated himself to a boutique market. I just don't see how he will come close to having the size audience he once had...or that George Noory now has for that matter. Maybe I'll change my mind, and maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but right now $150 a year for a radio show offends me.
