A while back I remember someone was putting together a master collection of all the old Art Bell shows.   Various people were collaborating to make it as complete as possible.    Where can I download that whole collection of the old show audio files?   I never did download it but now with Art's passing, its making me think I should get it before its no long available.    Thanks.

The Ultimate Art Bell Collection is the most complete IMHO with the exception of MiTD.  But most of us have all the Art Bell MiTD episodes.  I have the magnet link for The Ultimate Art Bell Collection if you want it.  It's 62.05GB in size.

Toni Fisher - 'The Big Hurt' - 1959 45rpm

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlE6eHEENg4

Now it begins, now that you've gone
Needles and pins, twilight till dawn
Watching that clock till you return
Lighting that torch and watching it burn

Now it begins, day after day
This is my night, ticking away
Waiting to hear footsteps that say
"Love will appear and this time to stay"

Oh, each time you go
I try to pretend
It's over at last
This time the big hurt will end

Now it begins, now that you've gone
Needles and pins, twilight till dawn
But if you go, come back again
I wonder when, oh when will it end?
The big hurt

The big hurt
The big hurt

Postings from Heather's facebook:

Heather will tell ''the real story''.

Ok.  But after promising that, it had better be something more detailed than what the sheriff's office put out.

Regardless of what Art thought, George Noory is light years ahead of Heather Wade.  When he started, and for 5-6 years afterward, I could listen to more than 3 or 4 minutes of it.  I could even listen to complete shows.

Better man than I!  I never could handle Jorch.  I liked Ian Punnett A LOT, though.

I loved that movie.  His performance inspired me to join the military (albeit, the Canadian one).  However, what looks hilarious on the movie screen depicting the rigours  of basic training is a lot less funny when it happens to you.  My master corporal was a humourless asshole who screamed like a demonic banshee without any of the panache and wit of the Great Gunny.  He flipped my bunk bed after finding an eyebrow hair while yelling “THERE IS A F****ING PUBE IN YOUR BED!!!!! YEEAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!’” during morning inspection at one point.

20+ years later, I still fantasize about going to his house in the dead of night and giving him a blanket party raining down several blows with a hockey stick.

I guess my anecdote about military basic training is hilarious looking back in retrospect.

You might not remember the name of your first kiss, first date or even first sexual partner, but you will never forget the names if your drill/training instructors.

Starling won't hear anything from me. You're safe.

;D
I don’t have a nipple ring.   I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time.

There is still time.

Didn't Art say he had no financial interest in Midnight In The Desert and wasn't supporting it?  (Before we found out she'd moved in).

If that's the case, and his periodic comments about ''possibly'' doing a few shows here and these - as recently as the Area 51 invasion announcement - were not slimy attempts to prop it up by enticing folks to keep their subscriptions going, then MITD should be fine.  Right?

So we'll see how long they keep it going.  Keith has to know she's terrible, and how many $5 per month subscriptions does it take to make the ''network'' worth doing?  We'll see.

Postings from Heather's facebook:

Art said he loved radio so much it was in his veins. Yet avoided broadcasting full time most of two decades. He also said he didn't want to surround himself with yes-men, sycophants, and clingers on.

These are the people who Art surrounded himself with and fostered. Romantic declarations versus reality strikes a stark contrast, so it would seem.

I didn't say I liked him, only that he is light years ahead of the bimbo.

I listened for the guests despite him, and thought he was unintentionally hilarious - until it wasn't worth it anymore

Beyond great song.  Bell, through and through.

Sad Art's passed, but the last few days have been a great, bittersweet ride on BellGab.  It's too bad great times can't last forever.

I’ve been listening to The Jorch for these past few weeks and I found him at least more tolerable.  But there was a time where I despised him outright, especially when he’d ask out of the blue: “Do you believe in angels?”

He hasn’t asked that question in recent history, has he?

But I think MV’s interview with GN a few years back has at least humanized him somewhat.

The show/network can continue as long as you have a sugar-daddy, who uses it as his personal vanity project to serve his ego fueled by spite. We'll see if Arts widow feels the same way toward Keith, Heather & MitD/DMDN.
