George is always talking about various 'friends' that he has, but a person with friends learns over time how to function around people.  I doubt very much that George has these friends.

What is so unusual is that a person with non-existant talent, looks, personality, or brains could get opportunity after opportunity - people backing him in the restaurant and other business ventures, geting the Coast show, his earlier TV shows and  now the GiamTV gig.  He must have an amazing agent and be able to act human in short bursts of a few hours in meetings here and there.

I'm reading a book "The Wisdom of Psychopaths" and it lists a lot of traits that Noory shares with the non-violent (I hope) sociopath.  I'll list many of these traits that apply to Noory:

Glibness/superficial charm, grandiose sense of self worth, pathological lying, conning others for personal profit or pleasure, manipulative, shallow effect, lack of empathy, failure to accept responsibility for own actions.  Fits Noory to a T.

These people can seem to go far in life, but they often hit a wall when their true selves become apparent.  Before C2C, Noory experienced repeated business failures, numerous law suits, and had a late night show on a minor radio station in a medium market.  Art's figured him out, we have, and I'm sure the corporate suits have.  He's still on because he continues to con a sufficient number of listeners, pure and simple.

have we adequately thanked the Jeno's Pizza Roll company for shutting Noory up for two whole days? can we nominate a manufacturer of frozen pizza rolls for a Nobel Prize?

I'm curious has anyone ever made it on air with criticism for Noory?

Astroguy got on and managed to blurt out "CoastGab.com" at the end of his comment, and it aired, but George has a delay switch; no criticism will ever make it. Because Tommy controls that switch.

I'm not advocating delving to far into Noory's mind.  That would be like a bad acid trip of no return but below is a interesting web site written about and by Sociopaths.

Sociopath World

Maybe Georgie is a sociopath. I don't know, but listening to that show with Linda Stasi certainly confirmed he is a bully. He would never have the balls to pull a stunt like that on Edgar Mitchell or even Hoaxland. He did this once before with LMH, telling her she was fired and now playing on this woman's past. Nothing to add here except he's shown himself to be a nasty, self-serving piece of shit, unprepared, not even listening to his guest, and phoning the interview in which wasn't even an interview but a series of disconnected, idiotic questions and observations right on down to trying to get her to say something uncomplimentary about Howard Stern. I notice he didn't pull any of this shit when he had the Italian expert on, though, and he actually paid attention.

If I were Linda Stasi, I'd have ripped him a new one when t he show was over for putting her on the spot over the pictures which he could have brought up during a break, for having a nasty, impatient attitude on air with her, and for being a schmuck who just had to play an idiotic, childish prank and derail her interview. According to him, this was a classic show. I agree only in the sense that it was a classic illustration of how this moron overstayed his welcome at C2C 9 1/2 years ago and should be booted out the door.

I wish this woman had been interviewed by Art, George Knapp or Ian. Even a talking parrot would have been more cogent than that moron.

Art, please come back and kick this idiot's ass.

I read "The Psychopath Test" and it covered a lot of the same things you bring up.  I think Noory is mildly (like you say, non-violent) sociopathic.

Quote from: Tara on January 16, 2013, 07:35:29 PM
Glibness/superficial charm
Constantly referring to callers by assumed nicknames.  "East of the Rockies, Dennis is in Cleveland.  Hey Denny!"

Quote from: Tara on January 16, 2013, 07:35:29 PM
grandiose sense of self worth
Talking to a doctor who had appeared on Oprah Winfrey, George says, "You know Oprah?  You could have gotten me on her show!"

Quote from: Tara on January 16, 2013, 07:35:29 PM
pathological lying
Last night's fake voice, and lying about it for the rest of the show.

Quote from: Tara on January 16, 2013, 07:35:29 PM
lack of empathy

There should be a Nobel Peace and Quiet from Noory Prize.

Norry was trying to be an Art Bell, by sort of teasing Linda. Those things do not work with Noory because he has no talent or the brains to be playing a "devils advocate" and be polite as well. Without being obnoxious to a guest.
Do not worry. Noory is worried and now trying little stunts to make himself like Art Bell but he is really a jackass! Noory is no rush Limbough or Oprah.Let us hope he puts his foot in his mouth again, and someone gets really angry with him on the air. It is in the wind! I hope! I am praying this jerk gets kicked out!
George better start looking for another radio job.

Also sent an e-mail to Lisa .....
George owes the guest, Linda Stasi, an apology ...... public apology.

I believe George is showing symptoms of a mental illness, or he has a complete dis-connect with anything in the 'human' range of feelings/emotions.

Coast to Coast would be best served if George would evaporate .......

I don't think it was that bad. He was just pranking and I agree...he's just bad at it. He did say things like "Would I do that" ? in a very rhetorical way, and so he basically admitted he was being a goon.

... And to keep up the silly denial that he was "teasing" is an incredibly rude and aggressive act.  ...

Sardondi, love your entire post, but I've just got to point out that Noory never did say he was "teasing" the guest.  At least that would have been an effort to mitigate his boorishness.  Instead he insisted to the bitter end that he was completely innocent of any pretension.  ::)

Eddie Coyle

For those of you who watched "The Sopranos", Linda Stasi was the inspiration for the loud mouthed Lorraine in season 5. Stasi had complained in her New York Post column in 2002 that the show lacked action(violence) so David Chase created a character in response...who was violently killed. And it's aftermath, Mob boss Johhny Sack mentioned how she got what she deserved, "whack this one, whack that one, there's never enough blood for Lorraine". Pretty clever way of fucking with the critics.

Ok, back to George Noory sucking.

And I noticed that George doesn't treat all guests the same. If a guest is not a bigshot and has a self published novel instead of a book published traditionally and a small website instead of a bit one, he'll treat them like plebs.  He'll say things like "we crashed your site" or pull pranks like yesterday. And I noticed his goodbyes at the end of the show are not the same with lesser known guests. He basically would rush into his credits list and the most he'd say is "give us your website again"

Since someone mentioned it ...

Of course, if there were a Snoory Shroud, the Left would consider it an environmental hazard and expect it to be cleaned up.

Or maybe not from what we saw from the OWS crowd.

A few years ago a Japanese company had a new product where you could play video games while using the urinal.

A video game with Snoory in it ?

And then there's this site where you can make your own urine screens.  Anyone up to being a merry prankster and placing Snoory pictured urine screens in urinals all over ?

Or someone whose near Premiere's home office and who can find a way to use on of their men's rooms and place on of these in it ?

NoMoreNoory

This just crossed my mind: For the past week, the Art Bell stream has been heavy on Ghost to Ghost and EVP shows. Which has been an absolute pleasure to listen to, but does anyone think a certain mustachioed nit-wit may have also been tuning in? Could he have concocted his stunt beforehand? God knows he's incapable of being impromptu. A feeble attempt from a feeble mind either way.

Scully

Let me throw in possible Aspergers syndrome (high-functioning on the autism scale) as a possible cause of Noory's continous bizarre behavior.  With Asperger's one has to learn how to react in basic social situations, because it is not instinctual as it is to most of us.  That's a huge over-simplification on my part, but jes sayin' ...

I think you almost have to listen to the show to hear how much more there was to George's attitude toward the guest than just the bits and pieces that we've listed here.  My first real wtf was when George was very flippant about having lost the pictures the guest said she had carefully sent him, and which were key to her story.  She had to re-send them while on the air.

Next came the bit about George saying he was getting lots of emails saying they could see one of the pictures moving its mouth. I didn't believe him then or now, but it shook the guest.  Then came the voice thingie.  All of this was done in a manner to test the guest's gullibility, all the while flirting with her pleasant voice and manner.  On top of everything else, George is clearly sexist.  He would never have acted this way with a serious male guest.

To state the obvious, there is NO hope for this man as a decent C2C host no matter what his exact clinical diagnosis may be.   >:(

Uh, that's psychotropic drugs George, not psychotic drugs... ::)

Assclown always has to propose some mysterious cause of these events when if had read the reports (aka show prep), he would have been able to talk about the reason the fish may have died.

Does anyone have a link to that YouTube clip of Noory psychically guessing a caller's occupation--then getting busted when she says she just told that to the screener?  I think I followed it from a forum post here.
It was from May 12, 2005.  It's been scrubbed from the internet.  Audio clips of it were on Youtube, but they were taken down citing 'copyright infringement.'   It's interesting that there are about a million other clips that don't get taken down, just that one.  Every time it pops back up, it gets taken down.

Has Noory mention last nights ESP episode? Doubt it.

Tangled Web George Noory Expands His Reach as King of All Paranormal Media
By Richard Horgan on December 24, 2012 12:45 PM

Shuttling back and forth between LA and St. Louis, George Noory is a very busy man. His syndicated overnight radio show Coast to Coast AM is heard on KFI AM 640 and more than 560 other radio stations. And just about every other weekend, or so it seems, he is touching down at a special event somewhere to moderate a leading-edge paranormal discussion.

This month, Noory has added Beyond Belief, a one-hour weekly live-audience talk show streaming on GAIAM TV. The first episode December 14 featured author, filmmaker and genetically modified food expert Jeffrey Smith; for last week’s second installment, Noory chatted with Nostradamus expert John Smith; and next he will welcome ghost hunter Joshua Hunter.
GAIAM TV, launched at the beginning of 2012 and based in Boulder, CO, is aiming to become the Web’s “top video destination for health, wellness and inspirational content.” Noory’s show, which debuts online every Friday at 7 p.m. ET, is the latest weekly original program added to a roster that already includes Open Minds with Andrew Harvey (Tuesdays), Healing Matrix with Laura Thompson (Wednesdays) and Inspirations with Marianne Williamson (Thursdays).
There is also a large library of on-demand videos, many of them made exclusively for GAIAM. The subscription fee is $9.95 per month, with a ten-day free trial. Meanwhile, on tonight’s Coast to Coast AM, Noory will kick things off with a most appropriate guest â€" Santa Claus.

Could this be Snoory in his new job ?

No. But I do think they should be nominated to the Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
They did more for the betterment of radio with one little pizza roll, (noory silent for 2 days) than the invention of the pillow-speaker.
