George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

At the risk of loosing my haters card... The show was actually pretty good last night (at least the second half that I really heard.  The guest talking about Watergate, JFK and Hoffa was interesting.

Where I usually say that the interviewer (such as Knapp) really brought out the best in the guest I have to say that the guest really helped Noory along.  Every time the guest was trying to say something and Noory would interrupt it seemed the guest would answer the question and go back to where he was, make a comment that he was basically continuing his story where he was interrupted and carry on.  Even Noory was O.K (I believe this is the highest praise I have ever uttered in connection with George.)  I do not know if the facts were correct (I was born long after these events and have very little understanding of them as I have never taken the time to look into them.)  Having said that, the guest seemed to be informed, know the answers, was engaging and was either a really good BS artist or had done his research.  (Either is perfectly acceptable as a Coast guest...)

While George did work in his personal story about being the last to interview Hoffa and the likes a number of times I think he is actually, genuinely interested in the story surrounding Hoffa and was not as disruptive, rude, or uninformed as usual.  He may even have pulled the show off using only a few of the cue cards that were prepared.

The guest made the show as much as Noory- but at least Noory did not ruin it.

I was thinking the same thing. It seemed like Noory was actually interested in the guest's presentation (beyond Noory's personal 'involvement' with Hoffa), and his infrequent questions mostly weren't as stupid as we've come to expect. It was weird.

Last night's show was three, three, three shows in one.

First hour of Katherine Albrecht's appearance was all about her breast cancer. Some past C2C guest said that there are few things in life less interesting than other peoples' dreams. One of those few things is other peoples' medical problems. Anyone who has heard any of Albrecht's appearances in the last year or so knows all the gritty details of her disease and treatment. Important thing is that she now takes a lot of turmeric. Please, let it go.

Second hour was about the topic she allegedly came to discuss - privacy. A little discussion about the evils of Google (Albrecht has a financial interest in a Google search competitor - love to see HAL 9000 go research-medieval on her ass) and a lot about Macy's using RFID to track inventory, which is apparently going to bring down civilization.

Third hour went completely off the rails and descended into a lot of blather (including from most of the callers) about End Times, the book of Revelation, and the Mark of the Beast. When you have a Harvard PHD reading scripture on the air, you know you're in for a rollicking good time.

Even the guests I used to enjoy have begun to suck.

More high praise!  Perhaps MV could submit CG for a shout out on air from Geroge?  Between these two statements I feel that we might almost qualify.

Nah, Noory  makes big demands of any forums he gives an endorsement onair shoutout to, including becoming a pro-Noory site that prevents any negative comments about him.
Don't think MV would agree to Noory's terms and sell your soul to the devil Noory in exchange for shoutouts, like the sites Noory plugs every week such as FF2 did...

That is Tommy?!?  I picture some young kid when I hear Tommy.  On the bright side, get him to drop a few pounds and Noory is well on his way to attaining the weight loss goal for the nation.

I recall hearing George say that he would come into LA and when he and Tommy went to dinner they would just share the food.  I now have to assume that he meant that they only ordered one of everything on the menu and shared rather than two of each dish...  The day that man had half a serving at dinner would be the day he ate at McDonalds on the drive home.

lol, i just noticed when you type in your patented noory phonetics, my reading slows waaaaaay down.  i almost sound really stupid in my own mind, haha.

Snoory as ANY kind of radio host completely baffles me.  He sounds as if his mouth is partially filled with mush when he speaks and, even with the electronic enhancement, has a voice tone and cadence that is far from great for radio.  He obviously didn't make the grade in mental department.  Just living proof of the Peter Principle, I guess.  I should be thankful for small favors.  At least he didn't have and fulfill the desire to be a short-lived airline pilot.

Wow, tonight's diet guest is quite Noory-appropriate.  He just recommended people drink 15 glasses of ice water the first thing upon getting up in the morning.  Then he went into something about previously living near the Arctic Circle with a pack of wolves.  I am thinking he might even have said a "tribe" of wolves, but I am probably wrong there.

As I recall last week's diet guy was a pretty sensible "eat less, walk more" type who didn't say anything odd, but was about as interesting as listening to the traffic noise.

This guy also sounds female.  Maybe it is a female, in which case she sounds male.  I am going to the website to check out its photo.
