I take issue with the "living" part.  At least above his neck.

I just lost any respect I had for John Fogerty.

George Noory has managed to make it into the Wikipedia entry for the 2016 Presidential Election:

QuoteDemocratic Party

Publicly expressed interest

As of October 2015, the following potential candidate has expressed interest in running for president within the past three months.

George Noory, Radio talk show host[51]

Someone should tell them George was only feeding his ego and doesn't really plan to run for President.

Fogerty put on the worst concert I ever attended.  He went through the motions and bailed out as soon as he could.  No encore.  Nothing.  He didn't even play a crappy UFO Phil recording after he left.

Since Art's return, I've only listened to Dave on several occasions, including last night for a few minutes.  Any more than that is self-torture.

It was the same old shit:  little kid gets run over by a car and Dave along with "expert" Jerome Corsi trumpet their belief in the bogus "abiotic oil" theory.  Too bad Dave doesn't have the guts to have on a real petroleum geologist from Shell or BP or Exxon or Chevron to tell him he's full of shit.  I think Dave works on the theory that the more he lies about something, the more his more gullible listeners will buy into it.  It worked for Joseph Goebbels, why not Dave Noory?

Coast has become a radio cartoon program -- and has been for some time.

Does anyone know if there is a resource to identify what the ratings are in a local market like LA or Portland? I have seen the national ratings stats, but not in local markets...just curious...

I once heard George mention he liked the James Bond movies a lot, and that he'd seen every one.

Given his a) repetitiveness and b) his fondness for making up creepster personal stories, I've wondered about it. If true, why doesn't he mention it at least once a month and have some actor who played a minor role in one of them on as a frequent guest; if made up, why didn't he add that usual something to it that makes him out to apprear quite creepy?

He had Tommy cue up the song 'Skyfall' at the end of one program at the recommendation of a caller.  At the end of it George said something like "I thought it would never end," obviously never having heard it before.  When he says he's seen every James Bond, I'm pretty sure he's only talking about the Sean Connery and possibly Roger Moore era.

This was one of the strangest comments I've ever heard on Coast.  Is Fogerty brain dead?  Or just ass-kissing for some unknown reason?  Whew.

You're probably correct.  I wouldn't be surprised to hear Noory say his favorite Bond movie is the one with Pat Boone singing.  ::)

Sometimes George finds out what some of the other humans enjoy, then claims he does as well in an attempt to fit in.

For example, does anyone really think he's a John Lennon fan?

Pat was James Bond right after Connery. Amazeen!

George discussing free will vs. predestination is hilarious! ...not sure what manifest destiny has to do with any of it. Love how the caller claimed to be a member of MENSA

I hate how part of George's mind seems to fall asleep during his show, but he is full of vim when it comes to getting his bread buttered - the commercials.

Many times a guest or caller will be explaining something and Snoreg interrupts often and needlessly because he does not further the conversation but tries to side track it into something with which he's familiar.  When the exhausted caller finally seems to ready to wind up, deliver the punch, Noory interrupts for a commercial - and naturally, forgets all about it when the program resumes.  He's really an awful host.  Just terrible.

I don't think Norry is cool enough to like the Sean Connery-era. I think he only seen the Roger Moore ones, and maybe the new ones since he thinks he is a part of the Hollywood jet-set now.

I think George would be surprised to learn James Bond has been played by several different actors

I love that clip.  You just know George spent his entire lunch hour with Tommy that day, setting up exactly how they were going to do the bit (when else has Tommy asked callers what jobs they had), and Tommy thought he'd found just the right person for George to talk to.

The shows in which Linda allows Art to interrupt and actually converse with her are WAY more interesting.  Last night she took advantage of every opportunity to just run on and on in that droning voice of hers.  She really should learn some manners.

I know she HAS to do this with George because he'll lead her off track with an inane comment, but Art does not do that.  He brings out the best in guests usually.  At the end he started saying these aliens just seem too clueless to think they'll get an important message out by the means they choose.  I think, in part, he was getting exasperated by her overriding his attempts to break in.  Linda needs a good thump on the head every now and again.
Exactly.  Give Noory a verbal crevice and he'll streak in and drop a banality bomb.

Which is to say that he thinks everyone else is as smart as Tommy.

Has Dave ever interviewed his hair and mustache?  I can hear it now.  "What's it like to get slathered with black shoe polish?".  "Have you ever been on a mean baby?".  "Do angels color their hair?.  "Are you portals?.

albrecht

"a lot of people are sheep...they, uh, don't want to push the apple <long pause> cart."

From the JFK-Secret Society Show the other night. Mixing metaphors, garbling common sayings, and not getting them right; always vintage Norry.

Last night during the end of open-lines he pulled out the conversation with Tommy deal where he castigates/pokes-fun, speculates on his death, and blames Tommy for not having had Joey Bishop on the show (Tommy got an email, printed it out, but the email fell behind a desk- that Tommy found later, after Joey Bishop was dead- while he was cleaning.) Norry hacked and coughed last night, on air, also because he was cleaning out "the cave" in St. Louis. Apparently they have to do their own cleaning; iHate budget doesn't include cleaning-staff for facilities?

ps: there was an open-liner caller who was talking about a dream in which he found himself in the dark desert and didn't know how he got there. Thought he'd been drugged and kidnapped and didn't know it was a dream and couldn't wake up. Norry opined "well, you can look at the stars, etc) and caller replied "its scary- Midnight In the Desert." Likely unintentional....or maybe not.
