It was a whole night of dumb, nowhere questions, one after another, designed to keep his quest from elaborating on any one idea, or thought.  Stephan martin, Duane Elgin, and James Gardner were laying out some heavy stuff, and George is wondering who starred in the movie, "What's it all about, Alfie?"
The "intelligent universe" quote floored me, and later on in the show he asked, "is the universe still evolving and changing?"  How does a question like that come out of an adult's mouth?  Is this Sesame Street?  Is it possible he dumbs down the questions so that the audience won't get confused?  Isn't that contrary to his repeated claim that c2c listeners are the smartest there is?  The guy is a toad.

Hee hee, Sesame Steet - I like that.  You know, I'm beginning to suspect that snoory just may be moonlighting as a Teletubby.  Hey, he certainly fits the form.  :D His research sounds like it comes from that show.

In the previous incarnation of this board - we had a number of people who created community here.  The drastic down-slide of c2c was an excuse for that - and c2c topics a meme for starting conversations.  But, we talked about a lot more than that.  In fact "off topic" was - and I think still is - the largest area of this forum.

Events conspired to cause a temporary shut down.  Some of the old timers are back, many of you are new.

Sure - we like to bitch about George - and some of the most creative posts are various types of re-caps of the show and Snory-isums.

But, as you'll see if you look over the forum - all kinds of topics get discussed.

Is c2c over?  More or less, yes.  I'm with Valdez on the subject of mining for the occasional gem.

This is the second time George has done a segment on the Fair Tax.  I'll give him credit for that.  It may be an idea that could save the republic.
     http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer

Love this idea - have since I first heard it.  Puts tax in the control of the individual (to a large extent)

But, it's too simple, too big a threat to the big business people in a culture that has come to equate recreational shopping with patriotism, (Remeber how W told us to show those terrorists we were not afraid by SHOPPING after 9/11?) and too far from our current system to get implemented.

Too bad - but I honestly doubt it will happen.

Thanks for the warm welcome, MV -- and merge away.

Again, I apologize if this is ground already trodden, but isntead of contacting the direct producers of C2C, what about contacting Clearchannel?

No need to worry about repeating a topic, Pseudonaut.  We can't expect everyone to read the entire forum before they post. As MV has already pointed out - he can always merge threads if we have two or more that are similar.   Just don't ask ME to do the merge.  I seem to make threads in motion disappear into the mysterious bit-os-phere.

I have listened to a number of Noory shows over the past two weeks while on vacation.  At the heart of the problem is his lack of intellect and his resulting inability to seize upon on an interesting statement made by a guest and to follow it up with an insightful question.  In the shows I have carefully listened to recently, there were perhaps four or five great opportunities per show for Noory to develop an interesting thread of conversation, but in each instance he blew right by it, instead opting to continue reading off his list of prewritten, superficial questions. These are opportunities which Art, who listened carefully to what his guests said and reacted accordingly, would seldom miss. No improvisation whatsoever on Noory's behalf, extending beyond a few one-off dumb statements.

I know that many probably already know this, but it really hit me that Premiere is opting for someone who appeals to the least common denominator.  I would really love to have access to the listener and revenue data surrounding the show in order to better assess what Noory has done with Art Bell's franchise. Sad thing is that the numbers probably haven't suffered much -- certainly not enough to make a change.

I agree with the statement made on another thread -- the show ain't changing anytime soon.  Question is whether we as listeners can move out attention to another show to support an alternative.  Don Ecker does another late night show on the web (Dark Matters Radio) and seems to have decent guests.  He doesn't have Art Bell's radio presence, but he does have common sense and a good background in UFology.  It would be great if Knapp could find a new gig, but the economics probably dictate that he stay as a part time host and keep his day job. Otherwise, we are basically left with various podcasts, which aren't necessarily bad but aren't nightly.

Sorry to rant, but just a few thoughts developed from my earlier posts.

i've said this elsewhere, but i guess it doesn't hurt to say it again.

i love studying and considering the paranormal.  it fascinates me.  always has.  however, most people aren't able to discuss it as hosts without coming across as audio-melatonin.  art is the ONLY person i've ever heard who is able to discuss the paranormal without making an otherwise interesting topic seem as exciting as an explanation of basket weaving techniques.  something about radio hosts in the genre seems to just turn the boring spigot on full blast.  art was unique.

good guests aren't enough.  every time i tune in to a paranormal podcast someone recommends, i end up considering seppuku.

i doubt i'll end up finding a new host i want to listen to in this genre.

I like Jim Marrs, but I didn't hear anything new tonight, although "Time Traveling Nazis" would make for a good flick.  Last hour with Giorgio Tsoulakos whose five part "Ancient Astronaut" series begins tonight on the history channel.  George will be appearing in all of them.  Joy.

George is sorta like an "ancient astronaut".

My subscription to access C2C over the internet lapses tomorrow.  I will not be renewing, for all the reasons that are beaten to death on this forum.  I doubt Premiere Radio cares.

Because the truth is out there, we're just gonna have to wade through a whole bunch of crap to get to it.

I couldn't agree more!

Dr. Katherin Ramsland talking about serial killers.  Always an interesting subject.  Low key Brit Gordon Thomas talking about MI6 and other intelligence agencies from around the world.
A couple of things that struck me:
The first question George asked Ramsland was. "who was the worst serial killer?"  Ramsland asked, "what do you mean?", and went on to explain that there were different categories.  Most Killed?  Most sadistic?  Instead of rephrasing the question George went on to his next question.  Was he not able to rework the question?  Was he never really interested?  I think George hates it when a guest ask him. "what do you mean?"
A caller asked George, "do you watch Lost?"  George went on about how busy he is with all the show prep (working on those questions, no doubt) and how the folks at the Night Hawk Zone seem to like it, and then he said emphatically, "It's a good show...I'm told." Now what the heck is wrong with just saying I never seen the show?  Why all the rigamarole and mumbling?  Has he no sense of the value of his own word that he would recommend a TV show (when 99% of them are crap)  based upon someone else's opinion?
     The NighHawk Zone?
I never seen the show.  I don't even know what its about.  Period.

valdez...
a perfect summarization of noory as a man.

lost is ok, but it's overrated, in my opinion.  nabila and i are plowing through every episode on our roku box.  again, it's probably worth watching, but it's not god's gift or anything.

add an overgrown mustache, glasses, and a strange mop-like hairdo coupled with repeated pronunciations of the word "aboot," and the above picture becomes remarkably faithful to what actually is.

I'm new here. Anyway the only reason I'll listen too the show during the week is if there is going to be and interesting topic. But lately they seem to be getting too mainstream.

Very appropriate that the first words out of his first guest's lips (Catherine Austin Fitts) in response to a statement he made about the mortgage industry was "that's ridiculous, George."  More guest should do that.  His little habit of asking "don't you think?" is beginning to get on my nerves.  Whitley Strieber commented on the Stephen Hawkin thing.  Roy Spencer talked about the grand scam that is global warming.

i haven't listened to c2c in a long time, but i'm wondering... what is the prevailing global warming opinion on c2c these days?  i was always annoyed by art's "chicken little" approach to the whole subject.

All of the guest I've heard so far on this subject have been debunkers.  George is in agreement.  It falls in nicely with his shadow government theories.

Yeah.  Whatever his motives, it's one of the few good things he's doing with the show, giving air time to the other side of this issue.

Noah's Ark found in Turkey by Chinese and Turkish evangelicals?  If it's true, George believes it would be mankinds "greatest discovery."  I don't know about that.  Fire, the wheel, electricity, bacteria, atomic energy, and a whole bunch of other stuff I would take over a rickety old boat on top of a mountain any day of the week.  Lee Speigel spoke about UFOs.

jesus.  when noting the congruency of my global warming position with that of george, i feel dirty.

Lets forget that Ian had just done a show about undertakers.  Fine.  It's a fascinating subject and I was interested in hearing how George would handle the topic.  Surprise.  George handled it like a five year old.  When people die do they feel like they're suffocating?  Why is it when you tell people you're an undertaker they look at you funny?  Why do they play sad music at the funeral?  Have you ever been working on a body and the eyes pop open and you're like, hey what's going on here?  I really like how a funeral procession doesn't have to stop for red lights.
Whatever.  Play the UFO Phil song.  This week is done.

Hello, I am new here and thank you for welcoming me to the community!!  I am thrilled to be able to share my views with like minded folks and hear diverse views!  :)
some quick background:  I am spiritual but also scientific-minded and progressive. I am a public employee and a college student.
I am a long time listener, off and on, since the mid-1990s. I was attracted to C2C because of my personal experiences - out of body and/or alien abduction - I honestly don't know what happened; this has happened since I was young.

I prefer Art Bell's scientific approach over Noory's alarmist rhetoric - at least this was his prevailing theme a few years ago.  I have been really concerned (in the past) with George Noory's " End Times"  themes - they were alarmist to say the least; and his shows relentlessly went on and on about it. Scary.  :o  ;)Depressing. :'(    I have sent many emails in the past criticizing George's narricism... But, in fairness, I really think George Noory is getting much better...? Don't you?  :-\  of course, then the question is: better than WHAT?  Well, I think he does listen to other side and let folks talk.  Which is good.

starrmtn001

Hi Tricia and welcome.  With your experiences and education, I see you can bring a lot of "good stuff" to the table.

To quote you about George; "I have sent many emails in the past criticizing George's narricism...   But, in fairness, I really think George Noory is getting much better...?   Don't you?"

Yes I do think he's getting better.  Snoory is much more narcissistic than he used to be.  :D

I don't listen to snoory, but since you're doing the "dirty work" for us I can at least have the consideration to read your posts.

Just when I thought gn couldn't get any more ludicrous, he comes up with this.  I can't say anymore.  There are no words to define . . . I can't believe he said this.
Who, in one's right mind . . . oh . . . well, there ya go.
