I officially and unequivocally retract every nice thing I've ever said about Noory. Coast to Coast is playing on Indie 104 on SiriusXM. There was indeed a shenanigan as Art suggested. Oates was bad, but this is too much.

He did that a few months ago on Memorial Day too.
Noory always takes advantage of using these holidays for playing pre-recorded stuff so he can goof off...

And look at the Quit thread. We've had insinuations that Art killed his wife (the guy that tossed that out deserves a lawsuit), a nefarious plot that Art was looking for a way to quit again despite an airtight reason for leaving, child bride stuff, and so on. It's the same thing, forming up again, even by old members and heading in the same direction.

Such is the mob mentality.

One of my first posts on that subject was that people were lashing out and seemed to feel hurt and that I was going to sit back and watch.  I figured in a few days the rage and the "Art owes me" attitudes would calm down.  It appears that is the case.  For most of us, Noory ruined a show.  For many it seemed they were feeling that Art was abandoning them.  (It really makes me want Onans take on abandonment issues and fears that posters here must suffer from...)

Now things have calmed down there a little and some stability is returning as the shock and anger wear out (granted, it is now shifting to Caost and noory...)

I do not often "suffer" from emotional extremes, so watching reactions here is interesting.  With that said, there were very few posters who talked about Ramona and very few who talked about his "child bride".  Many regular posters went a little overboard (IMHO) considering that Art had only left a show and not committed a terrorist act.  However, most kept it at a reasonable level considering the hurt and emotions they seemed to be going through.

I do not know that I would call it a mob mentality (though some was) so much as evidence of anger that some individuals felt.

Now for the reason I came back over to this thread.

I looked on amazon.com at the description of "Noory's" new cookbook.  In the "author's profile," it described Noory as having won "the distinguished Navy Achievement Award" -- no other awards mentioned, so clearly the writer of that profile (and whoever supplied them with the info) considers that a high "Achievement."
Except -- my service was in the Army, but the Army has an analogous award called (reasonably enough) the Army Achievement Medal.  You can get that for keeping a neat wall locker!   If that's the best TeamNoory could do for "military bragging rights," --well, sometimes it's better to just say nothing at all.

By the way, how goddamned incompetent do you have to be in order to need AND ACKNOWLEDGE a co-writer for a COOKBOOK?  Yep, ol' Bill Birnes did the heavy lifting on this one too!   Is that incredible or what??

In WEB Griffin's books his characters talk about the giving out of medals. Some of them say that you get certain awards and medals just for not getting the clap.
So much for his Navy acheivement award.
Nine years in the reserves, no promotion, no special mentions or fame for doing something great.
Maybe there's a medal for the least paper cuts.
