I haven't heard him either on C2C or Ground Zero for awhile.  Maybe he went back to drinking, full-time staring through a telescope, or he's either discovered atheism is wrong or he was right and doesn't know it.

I'm all for drinking, full-time staring through a telescope.  ;D

I want to make sure that I am not living in a zone, that this is not just an outlier.  What is the pulse of the audience outside of BellGab?  To get a fair read on this topic I visited the Coast Facebook page.  It was very informative and it seems that they are just as judgmental as this thread can be.  There are a few who worship the ground that Norry walks on and thinks that he is their gift, but that is not the majority.   There are just as many crying out for Art Bell and making unfavorable comments.

I am not going to record specifics but I took it as a learning experience, and if I were Norry I would go cry.

Prayer is always an option for the thankful. Facebook, rather less so.

i don't know all the regular callers - somebody here called them the Sad Pack.  i don't know Bill from Hartford -  i know Cornelius, Annie, Cleopatra Lady, Thomas from La Jolla, hillbilly Barry from North Carolina guy, Walt Da Atheist, Mike the Millennial, there's this woman with a thick Brooklyn/Jewish accent who's well informed, I imagine her calling on a wall mounted phone from Alice and Ralph Kramden's apartment

there are other callers i recognize their voices but they don't have anything unusual about them.

Bill from West Hartford (the atheist amateur astronomer) pre-dates Noory's "Sad Pack" of callers.  Bill started calling when Art Bell still hosted shows, and then continued to call in to Noory and other radio shows in the subsequent years, he hates conservatives and is a big liberal caller too.  He last called in a few months ago I believe, usually when there is a or NASA space guest on.

The Brooklyn woman caller you refer to might be "Jan from Brooklyn"

Has anyone heard from "Bill from Madison" (I seem to recall sometimes heard as "Will") who was into Finnish theories and also experiences in Soviet Russia and didn't like commies, likely due to the Finno-Soviet wars. He would get into great detail about Finno-Urgic theories, Finnish cabins, mining, and such.

I don't think it is the same guy but there was another guy who used to call into shows all the time ranting against Communism and had extensive, arcane knowledge of it. I think he was from Brooklyn or Long Isand?

Uncle Duke

It's been at least 3-4 years since Bill from Madison has called in.  The guy sounded like he was quite old when he was calling in over a decade ago, I figure he's died.  There are two of those old Brooklyn/Jewish accent gals, Jan and Myra.  The anti-Communist guy was Joe from the Bronx.

Two of my favorite callers were the young black guy who told the story of his UFO sighting in the 'hood, and the old gal who had had missing time as a kid after having encountered a talking mouse.  Both of them have called in multiple shows with various hosts to relate their tales.

Hi, I'm new here. I've been browsing as a guest for a few years but I joined so I could listen to a file of George Noory arguing with Richard C. Hoagland..the first guest I ever heard with Art Bell!  :'(

I could listen to Myra with the accent all night. She often has a triple compound question and sometimes throws in a fourth, almost offhandedly, "and define the relationship of those three items to String Theory, and if you have all my questions I will listen off the air."

LOVE HER.

You can almost SEE the questions scaling over Noory's jackass head.

(I may have Jan & Myra switched. Not positive which one does the compound questions.)

When Thomas from La Jolla calls in, does anyone else picture actor John Fiedler?

lol love Hoagland, his grandiosity is hilariously misplaced, sabotaged himself there, Coast gave him an opportunity and from this sound file they had an agreement and Richard live on air tried to push Noory into not only giving him the entire 4 hours but even that wasn't enough,he was trying to extend the show beyond its regular length - which is typical Hoagie, he's so important that the higher ups must give in to what he demands. Which is why he's a pariah in the industry and has no outlets left but his little weekend shows on blogtalkradio for which he can't find guests and can't manage to put on a live program 2 nights in a row.

whatever happened to that DVD that was going to change the world that he believed got on Donald Trump's desk through a secret back channel connection? like everything else Hoagland, a complete failure but he just moves on without the slightest bit of embarrassment,

Richard definitely has some form of delusional disorder.

haha i didn't know who John Fielder was but i looked him up on Wikipedia - and as soon as I saw The Bob Newhart Show I realized who he was and his voice and you're right there is a similarity.

I hear Sterling Holloway, the actor who did the voice of Winnie the Pooh and the voice over on the Puppy Chow tv commercials in the 70s.

I always thought Hoagland was looney tunes but he was entertaining. I refuse to listen to him ever since he defended downloading child porn as a constitutional right on the Clyde Lewis show back in September, 2018.

Clyde finally pulled the show out of his archives but not before it was captured and sent to every major media outlet.

I listened to the clip. I remember this. Calling it "defending downloading child porn" is a stretch.

So I'm going with "limited hangout, final answer." Thanks for the memories, GS!

Jojo

His overall feeling was that it should not have been a FEDERAL case.  I didn't hear him rationalize child porn.  He said the case should have been prosecuted locally.  I think he intended to support the First Amendment, although child porn was a really bad example.

The woman with the New York accent sounds like "Myette in Manhattan." (Not sure if I spelled her name correctly.) Yes, she's very well-informed.

My favorite caller was "Jeff in Culver City," but he hasn't called in for several years now. I also liked "Gary in Santa Maria," but as far as I know he hasn't called in lately, either.

Yeah you're right, there is a "t" in her name.  I said "Myra" but "Myette" is closer.

My local station cuts off the last half hour of C2C for expanded COVID coverage.  Can anyone tell me how last night's story about the guy baiting a graveyard with apples and "Good n' Plenty" ended? After moving his camera,  he was making a second attempt to video what he thought was a Bigfoot. I didn't hear the result because he concluded the story at start of the last segment.

All the apples and Good n Plenty were gone.  The camera that he placed in the flower pot on the headstone was gone as well, but he found it 35 feet away covered in strange fingerprints.  He tried again, this time with donuts.  He also placed the camera in a larger flower arrangement 15 feet away.  When he came back the donuts were gone but the camera was there.  All blank pictures except for one of a cat.  He also saw a weird set of footprints leading away from the site and reiterated that the fingerprints on his camera were strange.  He asked the guest what to do next and the guest said "Go back with more cameras."  Noory complimented the caller on his story.

Too bad about Bill from Madison. Yes! The gal who left a family dinner and wandered outside with missing time after encountering a talking mouse was epic! I don't recall the UFO sighting in the 'hood but seems somewhat familiar.

Good observation. If we can get Thomas to ask George to consider having a guest named  "Christopher Robin," on for the show, minds will be blown around the world.

I liked Will from Madison. I grew up in an isolated community surrounded by Finnish immigrants, so I enjoyed his theories. We even had a neighbor who let us use his old country-type suana every Sat. night. I looked into some of Will's theories and there is some bizarre truth there.  Looks like Finn ancestors traveled north from central Asia. Not so hard to believe when one realizes that more Vikings traveled down the Volga to the middle East, than explored the North Sea. Some Vikings were mercenaries for Christian crusaders. Now their descendents are pantywaists, trying to fend off Muslim refugees. Karmic ethnic payback can be a bitch.

UP? I've had a pet theory that Will/Bill from Madison might've even been a professor at UW or something once. Or just a really severe obsession with Finns. I looked up some of the sources he mentioned before and they were very academic papers on some arcane stuff about Finnish mining history and cabin design. The language/migration stuff is fairly mainstream knowledge but he would sometimes mention an author and book and it would be real thing but nothing one could find at a normal bookstore or amazon but in academic indexes and footnotes in other books.
