George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Started by MV/Liberace!, April 06, 2008, 01:23:02 AM

Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

No
No

Ted Baxter

During the John Barbour interview John mentioned someone I believe his name was Paul ?(a great singer) Did anyone else hear George say "Old man winter" instead of "Old man river" which Dumb ass correctedshorty after doing one of his Nooryism

I agree but the working of the board and dumping is that Tommie's or Norry's job because there are semi-frequent times where "bad language" gets out and Norry brags about "you won't be able to hear that, that's why we have dump buttons" but I hear them? The n-word got out yesterday. I was listening on replays so not sure if it went out live (not where the "people" get a copy on the shows for torrents or youtubes but I would be surprised if the official copy contained it for the "insiders.") If a guest starts going crazy then they need to be on their toes more. And not just rely on host who is busy talking/listening. And in some cases, like Connie, maybe stoned (really Preston talking about glowing orb masturbation?) How that that be ok FCC wise but not a random curse word at 1am?

The delay button does not affect the recordings that get archived on the C2C website. Only what goes out live over the air.

Paul Robeson, yes I did hear that.

Paul Robeson.  He is a great singer.  Best known musically for Showboat and his singing of 'Ol Man River.

Yes, Noory did say "Old man winter" initially.

136 or 142

Barbour has been a C2C guest previously, although I think maybe with Knapp.  I do not remember him going even close to batshit crazy on air like you heard last night.  If there is no history of a previous guest losing it, how can a producer be held accountable when it happens without precedent?

Thanks. Yes I have to agree with you on that.

I thought I remembered him as a guest before, but I also thought I must have been mistaken because a guest like that would never have been allowed back.

Ha!  Reminds me of Jorch's "Old Yellow."

George lost control of the interview early, allowing Barbour to deliver what amounted to a stream of consciousness monologue that included slanderous statements and outrageous claims.  George should have even reigned him in or discontinued the interview before it got to where it ended last night.

I don't believe that's in his 3x5 card standard issue.  Tommy has to poke Jorch a few times to get his attention.

I am intrigued Duke.   My favorite Noory interviews are when he checks out when Steve Quayle is the guest.
Quayle will bounce from his chats with former Russian Spetsnaz, to dead microbiologists, to Angels, to Giants
with George left in the dust.

Needed something other than LNM to listen to tonight - headed over to Z Firelight now.

what happened?  i was half listening and then it was over.. did he swear or something else?

Listeners didn't hear anything unusual other than a few missing words a few times.  George warned him not to use certain, unspecified words.  Guest monologued a lot, not following gentle leads very well, but lots of guests do that.  Mostly, it was words he used. George said we did not hear the words because they cut them out.

I have reviewed some recordings to verify original content and it seemed to be missing after-the-fact.

"That's right.".   It''s like whitespeak......  That's right.  You tell it.  Say it like it is.  Go on.  Amen, Brother.  Sing it, Sister.

Yep, I heard him initially say "winter" too. Earlier, he mentioned Frank Sinatra's recording of "Old Man River" when John Barbour talked about seeing him at the Cal-Neva casino in Lake Tahoe (partially owned by Sinatra, I believe). It's fun to picture Ol' Blue Eyes singing "He don't plant taters, he don't plant cotton."

Wow Barbour name wasn't even on the C2C review for the night. I wonder if he's officially in "the book"

It went to a pretty wacky Tuesday to crappy medical infomercial on Wednesday, why couldn't this guest say something that would get them banned  :'(

Ian and LMH in one show, should be a listenable Thursday.

Is this a photo of Yogi Berra? What a coincidence! I just randomly opened an old issue of Bon Appetit, and there on the page was a photo of a Yogi Berra lookalike. But I guess you wondered what I meant by my post. Years ago I read that Frank Sinatra was a native of Hoboken, N.J. (where that awful train crash happened), and it struck me as amusing that a skinny kid from Hoboken would be singing about "taters" and cotton. Yes, I know it's just song lyrics and he didn't write them.

Ha!  Yes, it's Yogi but it's not directed at your post but at Jorch's nonstop malaprops.  Even Yogi would be puzzled. ;)

My favorite is "It gets late early around here." That sounds like something I would say! :)

One of those rare nights where it might be worth tuning in to C2C.  First hour, Ian Punnett.

Earthfiles investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe discusses a new type of astronomical telescope known as the 'Dragonfly' which has discovered a "dark galactic twin of our Milky Way Galaxy;" recent unexplained animal mutilations in Australia, Argentina and southern England; and eyewitness testimony of a triangular UFO in Iowa that seemingly sent out telepathic communications.

First Hour: Former C2C host Ian Punnett, who has been working on his PhD from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, shares his latest adventures including a cross country move and getting his identity stolen. He also has new details about the murder of his family member Verna Garr Taylor.

The c2c schedule of shows for next week is up now.
Too bad this weekend includes the first Sunday of the month, so Noory does his monthly submerging artists show then.
I see Thursday next week, Noory has scheduled yet another of his stupid "secret door" guest shows too...  :P
