I am amazed at the willingness of people to listen to this guy because all of a sudden he is posting here and promises some results. .

It took a lot of nerve for George to come here and post, and to be as civil as he has been. 

When Bateman was trolling the show, I was laughing hysterically.  And George's initial reaction to Art's announcement was definitely not the high road.  As I was listening to the clips, I told my wife (before George came here) that what he should do is come onto Coastgab, post here, and confront the situation HEAD ON.  "That's what I would do," I told her. 

Then, lo and behold, two days later, that's exactly what he did.  I'm amazed that he did.  And he's been completely civil and respectful, even if he's not 100% transparent.  Not only did he do that, but he talked up Art's show and mentioned Coastgab on the air.  George Noory.  Mentioned Coastgab On the Air.  That's progress, folks.  I've gained a lot of respect for George that I didn't have a week ago.  Anyone here that hasn't is not fully appreciating how difficult it would be to confront a forum devoted to documenting how bad you suck and how terrible you are at your job.

Yes, I even went and listened to his show for the first time in 3 years.  The veterans issues/Superman interview from 8/13 .  Ya know what?  I enjoyed it, especially the second half.  The superman interview was a good interview.  Kudos, George. 

I'm not saying that all of a sudden he's a great host and that I'm kissing his ass, but you gotta hand it to him.  He's extended us an olive branch and calling a truce.  And with Art returning, why do we even care about criticizing him anymore?

Dave Noorie has made 81 posts on BellGab.  In his 81 posts he has invoked Art Bell’s name 23 times.  I’d bet there’s not another member in BellGab history who has made 81 sequential posts that compared Dave Noorie to Art Bell 23 times.   I have a request for Dave:  while looking into a mirror, say “Art Bell” 5 times in a row and see if it summons Art Bell.  Then we can talk to Art instead of you.

I am not sure why you pulled my post in to anchor yours. It is ok... I am just a bit confused. Do you think I have been derisive of him?

I want him to answer a few questions. Whether he does or not really isn't that big a deal to me. MV kind of drove the point home in his last podcast. I have been mostly noory free for 3 years... why do I care what he does? It is excess baggage I don't need.

The reason I made the post you quoted was directly related to Ponyboysunset misrepresenting what had transpired. At least from my point of view. I don't see anyone falling over and letting noory convince them he is a great host.

I did make earlier posts suggesting noory didn't need childish responses that did nothing but confound the dialogue.

There are a lot of hosts whose show I don't care for.  There are a lot of hosts who are really bad.  I don't listen to them, so I don't care.  My beef with George always was that I loved Art and his show, and George was our only alternative to Art.  Now, that's going to change, because we will have the option of choosing between listening to George or listening to Art. 

Documenting how "George Noory Sucks" is now a fruitless enterprise.  We don't need him to retire, or be replaced, or even to improve.  Art's back.  And George coming here to extend his hand and talk to us on our turf is admirable, if nothing else.

I just used it as a general springboard to state my opinion, as I've not really done that yet regarding George's appearance here.  Nothing more than that.  Honestly, I haven't really been able to keep up with this thread, so I may be posting redundant opinions and arguments, so if it seems incongruous, please forgive me.

I think he is trying to make a qualitative change to the forum by injecting some of his vulnerability and humanity here.  This is all Bateman's fault.

Allow me to clarify, I am not angry or disrepecting anyone's choice in this matter. I just was surprised at how much respect was given. It's just a difference of opinion and I do not in the least feel it is sincere on his part. I feel an alterior motive is at stake. I believe you don't wake up one more and go, I"m going to take on my haters today. The timing stinks, all of it stinks.

That being said, I am happy if others are happy with the show, his appearance here, or whatever, I just have a difference of opinion. I trust my gut, I'm sure you guys do to.

If you think you are on thin ice with me... forget it. I am just a guy that posts here. And by and large everyone here seems up and up to me. I may not like your opinions... but I am sure someone out there doesn't like mine, silly of them yes, but I have to face life as it is.

I do think lexington was over the top with no purpose other than insulting. I think the cocksucking and pissing comments were of no purpose as well. But so what?
