The following is not meant to imply anything derogatory, nor pugnacious on my part, but simply an observation from my perspective.

By way of your verbage and sentence structure, you sound  young, and without much responsibility (witness your incessant need to research past posts as an attempt to use them argumentatively to make a point). Not meant to be a slam, as little responsibility comes with being young. So if you are indeed young, then your behavior comes with the territory.

On the other hand, I have a house payment and other bills to pay, clothes and dishes to wash, 2.25 acres of grass to cut at least weekly (3 hours per mow), and all the other things that is a part of being a mature grownup.

I am not an "old fogey" - I feel lucky enough to have grown up during a a time when personal morals where taken more seriously, when unmarried pregnancy was a stigma (I work in a profession where I work with neonates, and the overwhelming majority are unmarried women - race is not a factor where I live)... to remember and appreciate folk music/rock/classical/pop-rock/jazz - whatever.

Additionally, at a quite young age, I suffered my first heart attack (RCA blockage - 95% occluded). 1.5 years later, I had my second heart attack - 99% occlusion in my LDA - aka the "widow maker." If it closes off, you die. Simple as that. I drove myself to the hospital (clearly a stupid idea as I found myself stuck in traffic in the parking garage) Clearly in denial, (most medical professionals do this - that being, in denial) I was obviously saved, despite being within minutes of death. Just last week, I recognized similar previous symptoms, but treated myself by chewing uncoated aspirin, taking a Plavix, and hydrating (I had spent 5 hours working in 92 degree heat - not smart, as I learned). I recovered with rest, but was very near calling 911 had the symptoms persisted.

Now, why do I even bother telling anyone these things? It's because of an overall life-perspective. I live daily with the knowledge, that it's possible for my "ticker" to fuck-up. I have almost no control. But such experiences do put life into perspective.

So you wonder, why I don't correct misinformation propagated against me by others on another forum. The facts are, when you've experienced what I have, such meaningless "verbal combativeness" doesn't take as much importance in one's life as it might if one were younger, or other wise more inclined.

When I feel slighted, I can certainly respond vociferously, and have posted as such. But generally, I'm a very even-tempered, nonchalant kinda guy. However, attack my friends, or my family, or, under certain circumstances, myself, I can be very protective; sometimes especially of my reputation, which, in reality, is about all we have in a cyber-environment (not so dissimilar from old CB radio "hangouts of years gone by" (perhaps another post about that analogy).

Why do I bother mentioning these personal facts about my life? So as to present a personae (believe it or not) of not taking "internet/web" threats seriously, and all that goes on with that style of internet communication. I am by no means perfect, and have on occasion, had no hesitation in "dressing down" certain mods at GLP, and maybe others that I don't remember. I try not to let my emotions get in the way of reason - as through my life-experiences, and personal closeness with death, being only minutes away from the ultimate trip, that, in the grand scheme, what others say to or about you don't mean much, ESPECIALLY on the "anonymous" internet. I would take such talk much more seriously if it were coming from a friend or relative, but an anonymous posting on a forum? I try to put these things in perspective.

If attacked, I may or may not respond - subtly (my preference, as it often goes flying over their heads), or more directly, through coarse language (my least appealing attribute. I still don't swear in front of my parents). Or not respond at all, as it often becomes pointless.

So, hopefully, in conclusion, I don't often find it necessary to defend myself - it's often pointless and a waste of emotional energy. It comes with some modicum of maturity.

Likely, someday soon, I'll lexiconically (did I just make up a word?) illustrate a timeline, as to what happened at GLP. I'm certain it won't be satisfactory to the hardliners who remain at GLP (but come here as "guests"). Not my problem. The timeline and accompanying explanations with be both brief and unsatisfactory for some. Again, not my problem.

So while I personally view your response(s) as a rejection of my proposed "equation" (as so eloquently explained in Gumby's previous recent post to you or others), I would Like to think that the previous chapter of TOGNST and its progeny, are simple moot and dead. We have a new home, and what a home it is!!!

So, Pogo (or others), I think my equation as being a fair settlement of any animosity, or questions for that matter - if one can "leave well enough alone,"
we can all move forward to the ultimate goal of exposing the incredible suckage known as George Noory, and extend an invitation to a competent host. I'd suggest that conjecture cannot, and must not be, ever construed as fact, so, therefore, concentrate your efforts on enjoying this forum, and give up on what you think "might be." You'll be wasting your time.

For those of you who have read this and thinks it's a pile of shit, remember, I forearned you in the very first sentence! For those who suffered through my verbosity, I've hopefully espoused some semblance of reasonableness and logic.

Quite hopefully, I'll do my best to at least not attempt so lengthy a post of explanation, though I also don't apologize for it. I wouldn't have written it if I didn't think it necessary.

NEW YORK (Reuters) ? After starting out selling household wares on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, Billy Mays made it big in advertising when he took his sales skills to television to promote a stain remover.

Now the infomercial industry is in need of a new star after the death on Sunday of Mays, 50, its most famous pitchman -- known for his blue shirts, black beard and a tendency to shout out his wares.

Mays' "regular guy" approach was his biggest asset for convincing viewers to buy things they never knew they needed.

"The thing about Billy was that he was an average guy so he could relate to the average guy," said A.J. Khubani, chief executive of product marketer TelleBrands, which often hired Mays. He said Mays picked up a lot of his sales skills by taking note of the reactions of customers he met in person.

"It was his enthusiasm. When he found a product he could believe in he was very, very enthusiastic. That was infectious to the buyers," said Bill Kittel, president of Barry Marketing Group, a consulting firm that produces infomercials. Kittle further explains, "We're going to sorely miss Billy, however we have found some hope in George Noory as Mays' potential replacement.  Although George has none of the qualities that made Mays so likable, he has demonstrated over the past six years his innate talent for the informercial genre."  George Noory has been hosting Coast to Coast AM, which is now one of the longest running infomercial series ever broadcast on radio (over 6 years and counting).  "Now many of us in the industry see George as the rightful heir to the Billy Mays franchise".

Infomercials often last almost 30 minutes and air in the middle of the night, when broadcasters are looking to make some money when most viewers are asleep. George Noory, who may likely succeed Mays, has been mostly limited to his radio based infomercial program. However George has been able to transform the usual 30 minute informercial format into a weekly 4 hour broadcast, which industry insiders say is an incredible feat.

Infomercial specialists say the weak economy has helped their business because more people are staying at home and looking for bargains on TV.  This phenomenon has also benefited radio infomercial programs such a Coast to Coast AM, which derives much of its audience from the ranks of the unemployed and mentally disabled. 

Asked who could be the next heavy hitter in the infomercial world, several industry executives have all responded with the same unanimous answer: George Noory.

Sam Catanese, CEO of Infomercial Monitoring Service, said marketers see George Noory as a potentially valuable spokesman because of lack of regard for the products he's willing to pitch.  "George is that one in a million talent who will shill anything, regardless of the product's merit. It seems to me that the good, if sometimes twisted humour and the original intent are being lost in pointless controversy.  It reminds me of the White Russians in Paris in the 1920?s? rendering themselves utterly ineffective by internal divisiveness, fratricidal bickering and self-slaughter while Dzyerzhinsky simple consolidates power.

Forgive me for giving my 2 cents on this, but it's too juicy not to. I think that if V had a part in the thread being shut down, neither V nor the GLP staff would admit to it. It doesn't benefit anyone to admit such a thing.

This is a good thread, and the people who are looking for closure about what happened will never get it. I think GLP mods are guilty of being douchey, which makes it difficult to find any "truth". Just accept the situation as it is. It's truly sad that the thread is gone. The songs that were in there, the quotes, were all very funny and acted as a great GNS resource.

This fight seems completely useless because the people who have the information won't spill it and the people who want to know are well-intentioned, but end up becoming targets when they press (fight emotionally) for information. I really suggest you let it go. You post great stuff here, and I think this thread is a kind of necessary group therapy for people who put their hearts into that thread that was unfairly taken away from them. Well said MABUSE. And I concur. The only thing I wanted was for that CRAP from the other thread NOT to come spilling over to this one. But that's not good enough for some.

I'm on the same page with you and I'm sure others are too here. And that's all I had been trying to do, put all that to rest. Wish it was good enough for some, but some still want to slow things down. I was part of the (first) old thread too but left it completely, not looking back, from around December of last year until I think it was March or April of this year when I decided to come back and post crazy Noron (AND ESPECIALLY TROLL)-blasting posts, mainly anonymously or under a funny name once in awhile. I was certain that most knew it was me anyway. Sybil did. And get this, I'm almost certain mine was the last post before the thread went down. Everything had been alright and I was working on a post...then , when I hit the "post" button, my screen wavered for a moment, and then POOF! it appeared that the entire thread had vanished.

So, if there is anyone here that should be upset with GLP pulling the thread, it should be ME! Dammit! Shortly thereafter, when the "new" thread started, I decided to make a comeback right after SuperNormal did. But things were obviously weird at GLP...I too, was interested in what the hell had happened. At first I also bought into the "DOS ATTACK" rancid bullshit LIE put out there by that cowardly power-tripping PUNK Mr. Predictor, then the excuse became that it was because of "page views" that they killed the thread. None of that made sense. I happen know  a little bit about networking and I KNEW that what the mods were saying was utter crap and that they had used the roll-playing, character-driven bravado by V and the professor who had been bantering back and forth about page views as an excuse to kill the thread but, you see, that is an easy fix and subsequently and to the extent that it can happen on one thread and not simultaneously to others, can only point to one thing...and that is that is it was an inside job. When I brought that up on the new thread and a couple other threads, I was banned...time and time again for no good reason until finally I was totally banned with no way back in, not even by proxy, which told me GLP was using sophisticated tools which then prompted me to finally peak under the covers at GLP and that's when I finally became aware of just what GLP was and who owns it and who their masters are. I've already posted the links to that information so I won't do it again. All I can say (and have said over and over on this thread but no one listens) is that if you're believing anything proclaimed by the mods and owners of GLP you are doing yourselves a great disservice...but to then come over hear and spew GLP's mindfuck back at the very people who are relived to be away from that place, especially after all the exhaustive posts I made trying to get people to understand, I say to hell with you.
