I have considered editing the audio, editing out Noory's input so that I can listen the fabulous guests without the Nooroyance.

I've learned a new word today. We should really upload Nooroyance onto Wikipedia and provide a detailed definition and explanation for the uninitiated.

Consider this. I can't remember the sequence of Art's retirements, comeback, replacements etc. But I remember quite clearly that Noory came aboard about the same time as -what?- Gulf War One? 9/11? Afghanistan or Iraq? I remember Art on air strongly denying any validity to the idea that 9/11 was an inside job. If he truly believes that I can imagine that he would welcome a retirement and not having to deal with 9/11 conspiracy theories. Or did Art deny the inside job knowing what could happen to a very public person supporting the inside job theory? Right or wrong, I connected Art's disappearance to some important world event.
excellent term - Nooroyance  ;D

Art retired from full time weekday hosting the last time at the end of 2002.
Noory was guest hosting, filling in for Art when he would take days off due to back problems thruout 2002.
Noory took over as the fulltime weekday host in early 2003.
For a few years, Art would host regularly on weekends for a while, then cut back to a couple weekend shows a month, and then drop to only a few guest hosting shows a year, until he finally stopped hosting completely last year.

It's a known fact that hard core lesbians the world over love both the scent and taste of fish, and are known to use tuna forks. Extensive studies conducted by both Harvard University and the Mayo Clinic have concluded that it is especially the scent of raw fish that can literally increase a lesbian's testosterone levels in a matter of seconds, thus rendering them highly sexually aggressive; their labia's engorged with blood almost instantly after inhaling the scent of the raw fish (especially red snapper). Fish markets and sushi bars are but two prime locations where the primal/reptilian portion of a lesbian's brain is activated to a very high degree.

Whoa, a shot over the bow... Lesbians, what say you??

2styx

Some wildly funny stuff on this board, courtesty er.. GN. I liked the post that had the picture of the woman holding the enormous fish and the testing by the clinics on Lesbians.... HOWLINGLY FUNNY.

Those damn annoying lesbians of the world! Depleting our oceans of fish and upsetting the already highly unbalanced marine ecosystem!

George Noory should really do a show on this. He should have Captain John Sweeney come on and explain the mysterious phenomena of "fish not plenty - pussy galore".

I'll take Harvard's word for this controversial theory and subsequent hypothesis, but hold the Mayo and the wry, will ya?   ;)

By the way, I actually googled (without a lubricant) "lesbians fishing" (it's been that kind of a Friday). This is what posting on the George Noory Sucks thread does to my feeble brain. I came up with this:

Laurie and Diane Go Fishing.

By the way, welcome, 2styx!

I don't know why my text above is partially in bold. I tried to undo it, but it wouldn't come undone. ???

In the past week or two listening to Noory has become unbearable. The two major sources of irritation: he is unable to stop himself from telling illustrative stories taken from his own experience. He now repeats himself, telling some of the same stories. He is not a good story teller and I keeping thinking loudly: "I'm NOT listening so that I can hear your stories or your opinions your speculations." George gets in the way of his guests. Also irritating is the atrocious level of interviewing competency. Say a guest will explain nicely how she or he got into the field of X. When they finish explaining George will say, "What got you into the field of X?" Some on this thread have called him out as asking "cue card" questions but what it looks like ... and just this past two weeks I've wondered if he has a substance abuse problem... it looks to me as if he lacks imagination, or suffers diminished intellectual capacity, an inability to formulate questions that could get more deeply into the mind/subject of his guest....

It's telling that a version of this para has been posted by virtually everyone here - we see many of the same things. But some of George's idiosyncrasies - the constant turning of the conversation to himself and his experiences; the inability/unwillingness to listen others, etc. - makes me wonder whether he's a narcissist...or something worse. We tend to discard this idea because of his aw-shucks-I-just-love-the-fans (faux?) humility, but he wouldn't be the first to be playing a role. There are other troubling aspects of his personality such as the constant use of anecdotes & stories about tragedy/cruelty/torture involving children; his noticeable enjoyment of stories about death and mayhem. Is something else going on?

Some weeks ago a poster named chosenbygrace put up a truly impressive long piece on the "malignant narcissism" of Richard C. Hoagland in the thread "Is Richard C. Hoagland 100% delusional or only 99%?". It's here:http://coastgab.com/index.php/topic,1561.msg66621/topicseen.html#msg66621 He talks about "malignant narcissism". He clearly has some expertise in the area, and he made a very convincing case about Hoagland. Now I'm wondering whether Noory is in a similar class. chosenbygrace, where are you?

Quote from: 2styx on May 25, 2012, 12:31:29 PM...I'm sure George Noory is a great guy. I remember his first session with Richard Hoagland. Hoagland (as I remember it) could barely hold back his impatience and annoyance with having to talk to someone so lacking Art's intelligence and skill. But over time Hoagland's attitude changed and now he, Hoagland, just goes with the flow...

Heh. The don't-get-me-wrong-I'm-sure-George-is-a-nice-guy bit was probably said in about 75% of the initial posts of each person here. We tended to drop it as we explored the man known as Noory. Just as many of us also tend to dislike Hoagland as well.

I'm not quite sure what the accepted vernacular is regarding bisexual women and lesbianism - if you are a bisexual female does that also make you lesbian?

The reason I mention this is, some time ago a little research yielded a CG member and her sexual proclivities - some of which were quite bizarre I must say - but did include females. It was yucky to say the least. I certainly won't out her here. She tends to be a "one-trick pony" (whoa - poor choice of words) when it comes to post topics... I'll leave it at that. (Besides - this is way off topic)

"Yes."

"Do you eat chicken?"

Fuuuuuuuck youuuuuuuuuu George Noory.

I actually punched my radio when he asked her that.

I was just turning in for the night and turned on C2C to hopefully be lulled quickly to sleep and it was gone!  Snoorey just got dumped from a major market here in San Francisco.

Sort of sad in a way...

So I decided to see of any CG posters had made mention...

Noory is taking another Friday off tonight (probably has some event appearance tomorrow or something) so John B Wells is guest hosting again.

sleeplessinca

I like John B Wells.  I guess I will just start listening to Red Ice Radio.  So much better than Snoory but I'll miss Wells, Punnett and Knapp.

Read this and decided to check in... I totally forgot he was hosting tonight.  Hopefully his guest will address my most concerning "hair on my palms" issue.

The phrase, "one-trick pony" was not meant to infer animals were involved, but rather to describe her proclivity to post on (almost) just one topic, no matter the thread. The fact that there was a play on words was not overlooked, however  ;), and did make it past the editorial process.

Are you referring to 560 on the AM band?  That's where I usually pick up C2C in my area, but tonight an entirely different program was broadcasting --  a"Red-Eye" radio station -- instead of C2C.  Did 560 AM truly drop C2C without any previous announcement of program change?   :o

Yes, KSFO 560AM.  I was shocked it was gone.  There was no annoucement ahead of time, but that is the way of radio.  C2C isn't on any of the other Bay Area talk stations I checked either.  And that Red Eye Radio is horrible!  I am listening to c2c on the KFBK live stream now.

I was looking for the "c2c no longer in ____"  thread, but I couldn't find it.

Yes, I believe KSFO is on the 560 AM bandwidth.  If indeed C2C was dropped by KSFO, that is a HUGE loss for C2C in the NorCal region.   I'm gonna miss the show's presence in the region, despite its diminished value over the years.  Kinda like that "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face" song of Professor Higgins from My Fair Lady.

How does one get to KFBK live stream?  Where do you find it?   Is that a station on the AM radio (bandwidth, please) or on Internet radio (URL, please)?

sleeplessinca

Yeah - I listen(ed) on KSFO 560.  You all probably remember how Cumulus eviscerated KGO a couple months ago when they fired all the talk hosts and went all news except Owens and now some Bloomberg thing.

Boom Boom - you're done management method.

Really will miss all hosts but not Snoory.  I really had a hard time with his cue card interviews, name dropping and transparency.  His guest were good, but his interview technique ruined it.  I guess a lot of people in the area agree or it wouldn't be gone.

Take that next time you are crowing about your amazing success you dick.  yeah - he killed it.

Hmmm, and if I'm not mistaken, did the show not just recently get dumped in Chicago? I realize there was a viable theory from someone here re the Chicago market nixing, however, I have to wonder if perhaps the numbers for the show are indeed dropping? Could it be that the chickens have indeed come home to roost where Noory and his producers are concerned? Are people tuning out of the show in these markets (and others) as they've reached their saturation point with Noory and his "spectacular" line-up of guests? I realize there's a huge market out there in regards to naive listeners who cannot be objective and take all of Noory's "ignooryance" (thanks for that, B-dubb), but I'm wondering if, finally, the tides are turning for Coast.

After all, nothing as craptacular such as Noory's C2C can last forever.

You know, folks, this is where and why I think I'm going to bow out of this forum for a while. It never fails - I join a forum in order to discuss, share some laughs, have some fun, consider others ideas and opinions regarding the forum's respective subject matter, and without fail, the forum always morphs into utter toxic waste. I can not even imagine myself, for one second, conducting "a little research" on a forum member (and I question as to how one would even go about such a thing, but I politely digress). That alone blows me utterly away; I have neither the time, the inclination, nor the passive-aggressive element residing in me in which to do such an inane thing. I've seen posts by members that I particularly don't personally care for - that's my prerogative. On the flip side, I'm sure some (or who knows, perhaps all) of my posts do not resonate with forum members here - that is, of course, their prerogative. In terms of myself and posts and members I don't care for (albeit I don't know them on a personal level) I choose the high road - I simply ignore. Yet to come onto a forum and announce that one has spent precious time "researching" a member...wowza...that's another kettle of fish. It's disturbing (yet sadly comical) on so many levels.

To the great members who inhabit this forum, thanks so much for your thoughts and the sharing of your (often times wacko yet very entertaining) humor. It's been a blast blasting George Noory and C2C with many of you. I've very much enjoyed your on-line company. I'll come back to this site should I discover that a little humanity and decency prevails and resides here.

I think you're overreacting to a couple of juvenile assbags. Most of the content here is intelligent and funny, and the hatred is almost always aimed directly at Noory, Wells, C2C production staff and the lamer guests, where it belongs. Don't feed the trolls and don't let them decide what forums you're going to frequent.
