Two by Tea

Okay, I am a fan of Rush. Listen to him all the time. But, he's got this "Two by Tea" thing going that came out of nowhere. Like he needed another revenue stream? The guy must be worth hundreds of millions! (Maybe the new bride is higher maintenance than we know.) Haven't tastted the tea. It may be heaven on earth, but what bugs me is when he tries to incorporate it into his non-commercial time. That's disengenuous. Not only Rush, but other talk show hosts (Hannity) will start on a subject and you think they are talking about a normal topic then they turn it into an ad for Life-Lock (which I am a member).

He's had practice. He did the same thing with Snapple.

Camper

I heard the profits from the tea are all going to charity for soldiers.

Indeed, Rush and Howard Stern put Snapple on the map about 20 years ago.

Remember the "Snapple is a run by the KKK" idiocy from the NOI?. Yes, that company founded on Long Island by three Jewish businessmen whose main spokesperson was named Wendy Kaufman...well of course, you'd think Ku Klux Klan just had to be involved.

For pure shits and giggles, the "Final Call" by the Nation of Islam maybe the funniest anything ever published anywhere. "The Onion" can't touch them.

Limbaugh has been working paid endorsements for the Heritage Foundation into his commentary as well, along with guys like Beck, Hannity and Mark Levin. Some infomercials are more obvious than others.......

Oh well, this is Capitalism at its finest. I do not begrudge Rush or Hannity their profits. More power to them!

No this isn't capitalism, it may be free market, but rush and hannity do not make a product they simply convince people to support them. If that is how people want to spend their money, I agree more power.

But Capitalism is based on trade of goods or commodities. You can't factually prove rush or hannity have original ideas to engender some form of new market.

Basically you have people spending money because they have similar beliefs. Much the same as passing the donation plate.

That's not 'commentary' though.  It's commericial disguised as comment.  In other words, its a spot that paid for by whomever.

Trade of goods and commodities is, of course, preceded by their manufacture/composition.  This my friends, should be posted in the "stuff that pisses me off" thread but sometimes this fossil gets grumpy about everybody wanting to buy and sell shit, but nobody's actually making anything.  Well, not hardly, not here anyway.  I know of a few small, independent startup ventures in this area who make things- more power to that!  Why does this make me think of a screwed up version of the bumperstickers seen on mining country pick-em-up trucks- "If it can't be grown, it must be mined"  Now it's more like- if you grew or mined it, it must be mine!

Truer words... truer words.

This is why I get so pissed about the patriotism argument. No one ever suggests that if a business outsources they are unpatriotic, rather good businessmen. Protecting the investor. It is time to hold these shmucks accountable.

If you do a search of companies that outsource, you do not get info on companies that sold your job to Indonesia. Instead you get companies that will help you outsource. There are hundreds of them. So much for thinking the wealthy give a fuck about you or me.

The "small government" crowd that benefits greatly from every imaginable loophole/tax break/government program that suits their needs. The scumbags who want us to believe OSHA is why they are sending jobs off to Bangalore.

When I hear the term "Reagan Revolution" the aforementioned is what comes to my mind.
