she's trying so hard to be trashy.  she couldn't be less appealing. and gross.  and tragic

i'm pretty sure if i saw her in real life i'd probably consider the possibility that she's a post op tranny.  she looks a little mannish.  and like she's had a shit load of work done
She's probably been tanning for years..... good lord. The fake boobs are bad too and I wonder how she will maintain them. Is Doug rich enough to take care of her needs and coke habit (he is "old" now and has to do plastic surgery too after all the coke and piss drinks).

Infatuation with this shit, right or wrong, is the illness.  It is a consumption of Tabloidism instead of the mundane you define as your life.  The free individual would say "Who gives a fuck" and then mow the lawn.

So true.  And I guess I have arrived there, for I couldn't care less about who marries whom.  :)

didn't you watch the video interview?
she and doug swear she has had no surgery and is 100% natural.
doug even commented only god is her plastic surgeon.   8)

Ok, I posted those questions because of the contention that baby boomers were being blamed for the end of western civilization. And the idiocy behind that just fuckin grinds my ass.

Ah, yes......because conservatives are higher beings who've risen above the human condition and never label people and dismiss their arguments with name-calling and marginalisation by insinuation the speaker is a traitor to the country, regardless of the subject.

Do you think it was angels? posted the link to a blog called:

ShrinkWrapped:

QuoteMuch that was evil was committed in the name of Western Civilization yet there are more people alive today, living in relative comfort and security, with more personal freedom, than any Civilization has ever managed before.  Our technological civilization would never have come into being if not for the acts, often excessive, of those who came before.

Oh, I am pretty sure even without the evils we would still have many of the comforts we do today. Just because one event follows another does not mean the first one was causal.

QuoteWhen the unconscious guilt is leveraged by a Narcissistic investment in the desire to "heal the world" and erase disparities, a toxic societal Moral Masochism can result.

Not a fact, not even a theory, hot air maybe.
Not to mention pigs flying.

More bloviation... err bullshit (keep it simple Onan).

QuoteYet playing the race card has become an increasingly common response...

by you maybe.

Like I have said before, there is good and bad... both sides of the fence. By only praising the good and not attending to the bad is not a good long term strategy.

LMAO at the obsession of Western Civilization. Whatever helps you sleep at night. I'll be as happy (arrogant?) as some of you are with Western Civ when they stop meddling in everyone's fucking country and causing chaos elsewhere forcing people who immigrate to the West, where they still face obstacles, ridiculous taxation (western civilization loves taxation), Maury Povich (there's some western civ for ya!), George Noory, and Obama (along with the other politicians and presidents before him who are full of shit about the American Dream). Have some of you been to the (dreaded, dark, evil?, scary, "exotic," Backward) MIddle East? Or do you experience it through your TV sets and radios enough to say "Western Civ is so much better. Here we are. Independent and constructed apart from them." Superiority complexes are fun, but they're worthless.

I just had a look at this "16 year old".

Guess what. Shes about 35. If she somehow is 16, its good shes getting married now to a older man because her at 35 will be even more unbelievable.

I think her implants are 16 years old.

OK.  The interesting thing turns out to be where do we draw the line between minding-your-own-business and behavior we need to control?  We all get that a sixteen year old can say whether she's being exploited or not, but why do we set the age of consent higher in this country?

Do we object only when it adversely affects all of us, like littering or air pollution?  In that case, we are saying that the ability to stop conceiving children, or killing them before they are born, allows us to stop protecting sixteen year olds from decisions they don't recognize could harm them later in life.   Does it matter?

China's ability to control reproductive choice on gender has resulted in their population choosing widely that a boy was more desirable than a girl.  This is causing huge problems in China AND Japan where large numbers of mateless teenage males travel in packs loitering in train stations and committing crimes.

See, now it gets interesting.  It certainly would benefit their societies if these rootless hormonal males did something to contribute to society.  Oh, I know, they could care for the burgeoning elderly population--scratch that, they have designed robots for that.  And robots for their sexual needs as well.  Any of this create a problem for you?  For China or Japan?

Interesting world, eh?

IMHO control over ANYTHING sexually consensual is BULLSHIT. And i say consensual because I know people have VERY weird tastes. And yet we let people drink and kill themselves, smoke and kill themselves, drive recklessly and kill themselves and yet we won't let people do what they want in the bedroom. Huh. Hypocrisy at it's best.

I am all for consenting adults doing pretty much anything that doesnt hurt another.

But we make people take a test to drive, we make them insure the vehicle they drive. We make them carry a license and also license the vehicle they drive.

We are a little more carefree with alcohol, but there are laws restricting public drinking, public intoxication, and god forbid one gets caught under the influence. And the legal age is 18 to 21 depending on your state.

But sex, not so much as a double take unless one is a minor, AND a parent gives a shit. I have seen a 14 year old after just giving birth fending off her amorous boy friend of 20. With the parent in the room.

I do not know everything but some things do need regulation. Doug has married a 16 year old by his report. If that 16 year old was my daughter, Dougie and I would be having a discussion... if you follow my intent.

This brings up the very real and very dangerous discussion of what exactly is an "adult". Are we to assume one is adult enough to join the military at 16 (at least out here) and yet can't have sex with who they want? In europe, 16 is prettymuch the legal drinking age for most countries, if they even have one. Driving? Hell people can drive at 14 in some parts. Now don't get me wrong. I personally wouldn't condone my daughter having sex at 14. But 16? She can pretty well do everything else (but drink, and even then i wouldn't care if she did drink, just not too massive excess) and with all the divorces, screwed up marriages and other crap going on with ADULT relationships, i'd be happy if she found someone who she actually "loved" (albeit for a brief period), just as long as i knew she wasn't being taken advantage of. Even then id say go for it and get all the money you can from the old bugger :) A lot of people don't have as open a mind as i have though, and are still hung up on the christian view of sex as being "sacred" or something that can "hurt" someone.

Maybe it comes down to a paraphrase: I can't define an adult, but I know one when I see one.

I completely agree there is a major disconnect between the legality of drinking and the age one can enlist in the military.

I am also aware that we as parents get to decide when we teach our children about sex, but they decide when they will have sex.

I see a few patients a year that are in marriages where one spouse is significantly older. And as one may suspect sometimes it is an issue and other times it isn't an issue at all. But the younger the youngest one is in a relationship has a direct correlation to their lack of equality in that relationship. In some respects it is similar to a parent/child relationship. A person of 50 even if lacking maturity has a wealth of life experience that is missing from one of 16. Instead of having conversations there would more likely be teaching lessons. I do not see that as a healthy plan for a long term relationship.

Whether the legal age is 14, 16, or 18 it is still an age unprepared for an equal standing in a relationship with someone 3 times their age. Even so that doesn't make it illegal.

As to sex being sacred... that is a very complicated social value. You and I may not consider the christian aspect as important, but I promise you a vast majority of people in the USA do. And even in the supposed modern times we live in women are still held to a much higher standard of sexual behavior than their male counterparts. Yeah its a nuts world.

Totally agree with your statements. I'd even say it's now very hard to actually "protect" a child from sexual influences that are rife throughout our modern society. At every corner there are scantily clad girls and shirtless boys. Id say half of all commercials we see have some sort of sexual content, usually involving women. That includes radio and television. Even the movies have ads these days. And some parents don't seem to mind that a 6 year old is shaking her ass for the cameras. Some are even applauding it (toddlers and tiaras). That show seriously makes me want to vomit. I just feel so ashamed of those kids and very very angry at the parents who watch ( and thus fund ) and who participate in such things. You're making your daughter a sexual object, no matter if you try and deny or ignore it. At that age, that is disgusting to say the least. You're right about relationships in that the younger-older thing doesn't really work for half the people that try it. For the other half though, it does work, so why can't we let them be happy? I guess we can discourage but that is just being self-righteous and arrogant/ignorant in my opinion.

A news update today:

Doug Hutchison, Courtney Stodden at work on reality show

September 23rd, 2011  09:45 AM ET
It looks like controversial couple Doug Hutchison and Courtney Stodden are looking to join the ranks of Snooki, Speidi and the Kardashians - the two are reportedly working on a reality show.

According to E! News, the 17-year-old bride and her 51-year-old actor husband have a project in the works with Merv Griffin Entertainment and the company’s President of Television Roy Bank. (Bank is behind “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”)

"We are so thrilled that we are in business with Merv Griffin Entertainment and Roy Bank," Doug and Courtney said in a statement. "[Bank] is a delightful man, and we know the show is going to be successful."

The couple hasn't started filming yet, although they do have a name for the show (they’re not sharing).

"It's going to show people what they can teach each other from different generations," Courtney's mom Krista Keller told E! News.

Keller, who signed off on the Vegas marriage when her daughter was 16, is also the couple’s manager.

"They're going to touch on family issues,” Keller continued. “There was a lot of judgment about their marriage from Doug's side of the family, so it will touch on bringing families back together and why it's important to support family members even if you don't agree."

In addition to family issues, the show will also address plastic surgery rumors and the cyber bullying Courtney says she’s been facing.

The family is certain this show will be a success. "Courtney is No. 1 in ratings for whatever she does," Keller said of her daughter.

Courtney and Doug’s show has yet to find a network.

On why her marriage is so controversial:
“I think it was because he was 51 and his life is over and I’m just venturing out on mine. I’m here to make the second half of [Doug’s] life a lot better!”

So... you married a corpse?

If this isn't a sign of a bad economy, I don't know what is......back to single cell biophysics for me. Be jealous Courtney Stodden. Be very jealous. While I have to research my way to riches and fame, you will just open your legs to creepy Eugene Tombs X-Files guy and get bad boob and dye jobs. At least I get free Pizza every friday at my job. Honestly, this woman bothers me. She is on a dangerous path. I don't mean to judge or pretend like I know best, but coking and tanning like this is ridiculous.

It's fine to use your looks and body to get what you want. Lots of women and men do this, and they succeed immensely. However, she's not being smart about it. Also, the X-files Liver Eating guy is not the one to do with this, but I guess they got press and show for now.... so who knows.

The tanning and boob jobs annoy me as well. That fact is, what are parents always saying to their kids? "Grow up and act like an adult". The problem is, sex. We ask them to grow up and yet don't let them experience the entire adult spectrum of emotions. It's either grow up or keep our kids as kids. It's inherently hypocritical to ask our kids/teens to get jobs and help feed the family and yet not let them experience such things as sex. Anyways, end of rant i suppose.
