Beautiful babies can chase the blues away so quickly.      Whenever I'm down, I just think of my granddaughter.  300 (not 3,000!!) miles away.

And (Red) stay strong.  Can you walk in some woods, now?  Take some time and just concentrate on you.  I think you'll be fine.   

Thank you Treading Water.  There are no woods here.  But, I am taking some time today for myself, in-between internet searches for a place.  Wish I could buy an rv and just drive... or a mobile home and just park. 

I am the best at making the best of things, but, this sucks. 

However, my brain will never stop until I find a place.  Ok, I had a shot of rum!

Don't know where you are in central CA, but parts really are pretty dreadful.  I have relatives in Fresno and Bakersfield.  Both are oven hot in the summer, drab and blah in the spring, winter, and fall.

My wife has had a lot of fun setting up our chicken coop the last couple months.  We're getting 2 more hens delivered tomorrow for a total of four.   It has been a lot of work, but she's been loving it.    Sorry your husband has to be away.  Thank him from all of us here at Bellgab.

What kind of hens do you have? I wanted to get marans, since they are bred for wet climates, but they're hard to find. Gardensphere in Tacoma will have Easter eggers and other easy-to-find breeds available on Feb. 15th, so I'll probably get those.

Hey, I've been thinking about you, Redacted. (Not in a creepy way.) The place you're in sounds like the hellhole I was living in outside of Chicago when I was 26 and I never felt so lonely and hopeless in my life. I made friends with the little old lady in an equally crappy apartment in the next building though and we would drink instant coffee and smoke on her balcony. Her friendship was the only thing that kept me sane, but damn I spent a lot of nights sitting in my crappy, roach-infested apartment feeling nothing but despair.

Flash forward to now, 15 years later, and I'm unemployed, flat broke, alone and living in a room in my parents' house like the world's biggest loser. Humiliated and just flat-out pathetic. I would give anything to be living in that slummy apartment again -- at least I'd have some independence and dignity. But I feel your pain in feeling sort of stuck with nowhere to go. I'm thinking about throwing what I can in my beater '99 RAV4 and driving out to Phoenix where I at least have some friends. Sleep on their couches until I figure something out. It's exactly how I always envisioned my life at age 41! 

But anyway, we could trade places for a while!

What about that guy you met at Lowe's who rents houses? And how's that dog doing? 

Well, hell, once my husband leaves, maybe you all should come up here and we can have a chick retreat or something.    I'm near Tacoma, WA.

The redwoods are fabulous... I could live pretty easily up in Humboldt County and surrounding environs.  Not a lot of work up there though....

Yes, went to check the house that the old timer wanted to rent yesterday.  $40 cab ride to a very scary street way on the other end of town.  Not even a street really, more like a crumbling trail... alongside railroad tracks... not a store to be seen anywhere.  Cabbie turned around right away.  I think her words were, "Aw no, you don't want to try to live here."

Got the kitchen exhaust fan on, so, have only heard that poor dog bark a couple of times.  Quite a bit of door-slamming today, makes me jump, freaks me out.

Love and hug your parents, at least they are in your life and they love you enough to give you a place to stay. 

Yeah, full cup of despair today.  But, I know myself, I'll have a day of despair, and then full-steam-ahead again.

I don't know.  We have two different ones and the ones coming tomorrow are two other different ones.   The only one I know for certain is a barred rock, and of the two we have now she is the best mannered.  All the petting farms around here seem to raise them - and you and I are pretty close proximity wise so I would definitely recommend that breed.

i liked the first season . she isn't  a traditional Hollywood beauty but who cares. different strokes for different folks and all that. She is sexy in her own way and funny too. A sence of humor always helps increase the sexiness factor in my book.
