My right hand is nearly useless due to a cyst that has fucked up three tendons in my hand. Evidently an orthopedic has to remove it.  Also, I havent been able to walk since july fifth due to a Linsfranc injury in my foot. I'm falling apart. Woe is me. It is most certainly annoying.
Jeeze.  Have you scheduled the procedure yet?  Is there something that can help the foot?
I hope you can manage to find a position that is, if not comfortable, at least not extremely painful...
Good luck.

As long as I keep my foot elevated, the pain isnt too bad. Its been a week and I still can't put weight on it. Supposed to be wearing a boot like contraption, but its pointless.  As for my hand, there is nothing I can do without it feeling like the flesh is being ripped off my bones. This is probably why I've been so damn irritable. I'm one of those idiots that think you can "just walk it off". I was referred to an orthopedic but have not yet made an appointment. Its outpatient and would probably not even take that long, but for some reason I keep putting it off.

Does anyone know why the cost of disposable razors has suddenly skyrocketed in the last few months?  A pack of 5 or 8 was $29.99 at CVS.  What.  The.  Hell?

One of the reasons I'm growing a beard and trimming with an electric shaver.  Maybe it's another Al Qaeda scheme.

Hey, I never needed an avatar before -- now I have a picture of John Boehner as a child beside my name?  What gives?  How DO I select an avatar?  (Sorry for the obviously technology-have-not questions.)

Wellllllllll...you need one that reflects any sarcasm you have thought or uttered.. it can be a private joke, or a common one... Hay mate..it's bloody sultry here this week (and next week too), up in the 80's.. been blowing the froth off a few beers.  :)

The 80's, you say?  I know that IS warm for merry old England.  ;D  Here in northern California, we've seen several days in the teens (as in 113^).  What are the most popular ales and beers in England?  Is the Irish Guinness as popular there as it is here in the states?  Here in my region the local brewery Sierra Nevada produces a lot of good stuff.

To cater for the influx of East Europeans, we have a lot of Polish and Hungarian continental beers, mainly lagers; as wella s the established continental German/ Belguim/ French (rats piss) . ...but we have a lot of micro breweries in the UK, one or two not that far from me.. They do 'blond' beers or nice cherry red ales or nutty flavoured ones with a bit of a kick. Guinness is an acquired taste though isn't it? I don't mind it now and then, but I couldn't drink it all the time. I'm partial to a Budweiser now and then too.

Yeah I know you'd show off with your triple figures.. Anyone can do that!  ;D ..Seriously makes a change here though, we've had about three years of rain all year, so it's a nice change..naturally the Darwin laws have kicked in with youths jumping into flooded gravel pits and quarries, and having an arrest with the shock of the water temperature. They've been warned every year since I can remember, and every year they do it.

They sure do.  They have more and more different flavors in the store here lately.  They are opening a tap room in Berkeley this fall, so we will be getting the limited batches that we previously had to go to Chico to try.  We have so many great brewpubs around here that it's hard to stay current with even just the best of them.

Is it?  We may be talking about different flavors.  The Guinness we mostly drink here is called Guinness Draft - malty and no bitterness at all, goes down easy, low alcohol.  It's black, which is off-putting to those who think that means bitter, but you've had it.   The Guinness Extra Draft and Guinness Extra Stout are much more bitter, they don't sell a lot of those here.  Sometimes these beer companies sell a different product overseas from their domestic beer.

Some of the English beers I like are Old Specked Hen, Boddingtons, some of the Samuel Smith flavors, Bass - I'm guessing your local brewpubs and smaller factories make better beers than these.  I mostly prefer the local beer here.

Hey, wait a minute, what is this doing on the Annoy thread

mmmm beer.  I tend to drink a lot of piss water beers like miller lite or bud.... coors light yeck!!  But I like lagers.  Drink a lot of ying a ling a ling although I was told to boycott them cause they treat their employees like shit.  My bro in law is one of those crazy beer nuts and always has that yuppie microbrewery stuff.  I like it but its expensive.  I love guinness and for some reason feel pretty damn good after 2 or 3... normally tho if im just trying to tie one on for cheap I'll go oldschool 40oz of malt... yes thats right.  I'm way past my teens but I'll still do a 40 night here and there.

Boddingtons used to be brewed at Strangways in Manchester. No longer, since it was swallowed up (sorry) in a merger. I've never liked sam Smiths, a pub near to me sells it draught; and it;'s just as bad. Speckled hen is a lovely little beer.. Guinness used to said to be only 'proper' if it was brewed in Dublin. I say an acquired taste because it isn't everyone's tipple, but then the same can be said for certain red wines, particularly Clarets..So you get people saying they don't like 'red wine'..

Heh, I wondered who was drinking that shit.  The other day I was in a store that has probably 25 feet devoted to the best beers in California and the West and while I was standing there a couple walked by with one asking the other where the Miller Lite was...  It's not that much more expensive, and the alcohol content is anywhere from 6 - 10% - and it will say what it is right on the bottle.

What is expensive is wine.  I stick with the 2 buck Chuck, although that's $2.49 now

i've been using a brand called wilkinson sword (i'm assuming you're a man, here).  they're extremely inexpensive yet comparable to the gillette mach 3.

buying razors at CVS seems like a real mistake.  i buy vitamins at CVS but only when they're buy one get one.  i get my razors at meijer.  stores like CVS aren't good for anything but prescriptions and Dove bars

You can use one of those manual can openers to open those packages.  Really works.  But don't try to turn the corner, roll through each side at a time.  :)
Oh - My - God...I've turned into Heloise...Ack!

English beer, consumed in a proper local, is one of the finest pleasures in life.  Old Peculiar, Bombardier, London Pride, Spitfire, Young's Bitter, Adnams Broadside, Hobgoblin - oh, the memories.

Charles Shaw cabernet is damn good, surprisingly good.  I've served it at dinners and people rave about it.  They are shocked when I tell them it's $2.49 a bottle.  ;D   I only like dark beer -- the darker, the better.  Guinness is my usual, but I've recently started drinking Irish Death.  Unlike Guinness, Irish Death knocks me on my ass very quickly.  I had two on the 4th of July and got pretty tipsy.  When I can't find ID or Guinness, I like Sam Adams' Cream Stout.  Back in Black IPA is pretty good when I want something a bit more mild.  Once in a blue moon, I'll have a craving for Young's Double Chocolate Stout. I've been into ciders recently and really like Angry Orchard's ginger apple.

Young's Double Chocolate is quite tasty.  Love having Woodchuck cider with crab legs.... very tasty.  I'll have to try Angry Orchard's ginger apple.

I went to a bachelor party recently and we had dinner at a microbrewry where you could choose 6 different beers to sample. I can't remember which was which as I was too drunk at the time. But they looked nice in this photo I took.

So you like the 'sweet' malty beers and not the bitter hoppy ones.  The Back in Black comes from a brewpub easy walking distance from ATT Park where the SF Giants play (although the stuff that goes to the stores to be sold retail is bottled/canned in MN or somewhere like that for some reason).  Nice place, good beer.  If you like Porters - they are nice and black and malty - try Anchor Porter (the same people that make Anchor Steam) if you can get it.

I do like Anchor Porter and some of the other Anchor Steam varieties.  I spent quite a bit of time in the Bay Area over the last 5 years because my daughter was stationed on Yerba Buena Island with the Coast Guard and her husband was stationed at CGI Alameda.  I was really into Anchor Steam for awhile.  We're able to get a pretty good selection of it up here.  I'm just south of Tacoma, WA.  The best place to get decent beer up here is Tacoma Boys Produce stores.  They have a really great selection.  http://www.tacomaboys.com/beers-around-world.html  But I'm still trying to find the elusive Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale.  We found it once over in Spokane, and we've never seen it since.  http://www.blacksheepbrewery.com/beers/holy_grail_bottled_beer/

I haven't drank since the mid 80's. But I believe if offered one of those, I would give it a try.

I look for it every time we're out beer shopping.  My daughter is now stationed in Virginia, and she says one of the local establishments has it on tap.  I'll have to keep searching.

They have the Holy Grail Ale at the QFC that I practically live in here in Seattle.  Complete with a ceramic collectors cup.  For some reason I haven't tried it... perhaps I should remedy this situation... today...

Woodchuck is good.  I really liked their raspberry cider, but once I got into it, it seems all the stores here dropped it.  I can rarely find it, so I switched over to Angry Orchard's ginger apple.  I like that it's not too sweet and has a nice ginger bite to it.  I also tried their elderflower cider, but it's a bit too sweet for me.
