Has listening to Art Bell made you want to live in the desert?

I find the whole mysterious aspect of Art Bell, UFOs and the like have made me want to move out to a desert in the middle of nowhere.  Especially the song "Midnight in the Desert".  Does anyone else have this urge?

Art liked it so much that he left it for an overcrowded tropic.

Personally, I find the desolation of the desert to be awesome, any scenario where scorpions outnumber people is fine by me...but I despise heat because I burn easily and sweat more than Patrick Ewing on Jeopardy...so I'll stick where I am.

I already live in the Sonoran Desert but... I really do love the Mojave Desert in the area of Parumph.  I once tried to convince the rest of the Burbank organization that we should relocate there, but they looked at me like I had snakes coming out of my eye sockets.  Actually, that's a pretty barren place (I know, that's part of mystic thrill).  The desert where we abide is practically a forest in comparison.  I love the heat, the aridity, the intensity, the silhouettes of saguaro cacti in every direction, and the embedded feeling that something strange and magical is hiding under every bush, along with the rattlesnakes.

Desert born and bred and travel through much of it on a regular basis. I love other climes and landscapes as well, but the desert is home, for better or worse. I don't know that I'd want to live here because of Art Bell, but it certainly gives me a point of reference and commonality with him. Until he moved to aforementioned overcrowded tropic. But if he's happy, go Art.

To answer the original question, no.  However, I do have the urge to visit Pahrump (a pilgrimage???) and maybe then drive to Rachel, NV... via Indian Springs (Creech AFB).  I'd have to fly to Vegas first, and rent a car... but there ya go!

I'd like to visit Pahrump some time when I'm down in the area, but I'd not like to live in an area where +100 degree temps can be the norm for months out of the year.
