I'm sad to hear that Neil Peart is retired.  I discovered Rush back in junior high school and have listened to the ever since.  I have been to every tour since Signals though I missed the R40 tour (their last) to go salmon fishing Nefoundland.  There is no way I can pick a favorite song comes them, I love so many.  Here are the two that eventually made me start playing guitar.

These guys owe me nothing, they have given me much joy over the years.  I've bought so many albums and concert tickets I like think of each of them relaxing on their whoozit memorial couch I've funded for each of them.
Yeah, I saw three R40 shows.
First Neil, now Art. Oh well... At least we can say we were there.

Y thank you, Pâté!  And, kid-Beck too, I like -- though haven't kept-up with him lately. Nice boy that.

Fast cuts, weirdly nostalgic, endlessly watchable….

Wrote this awhile back and transformed it at 3am this morning into something that looks like lyrics. Now just wish I could write music so this haunting idea would stop... Happy this much is out of my head.. ;) Taking a chance posting it here, would hate to lose my very macho image...

To See a Dragon........                BY: Ken (Haunted Texan)

Simple pleasures used to warm us
As we walked along the sand
The cool sea breeze just ignored us
As hot fire engulfed our hearts and hands..

We all need to see a dragon
Too much magic's disappeared.

We, as people, are too grounded
In daily grinds and constant fears.

We, as spirits, seem so fragile
as life forgets we're even here.
We just need to see a dragon.....

Now, rarely, we remember
The times that made us truly love,
A promise made by a simple look
Two souls with hearts that beat as one.

Such distance as we stand so close
It's all too real today..
A 9 to 5 means all damn day,
And very lonely, quiet nights.

We all need to see a dragon
Too much magic's disappeared.

We, as people, are too grounded
In daily grinds and constant fears.

We, as spirits, seem too fragile
as life forgets we're even here.
We just need to see a dragon.....

To wipe away our sandy tears
And bring us back to nights of wonder
Before the magic disappeared.
We just need to see a dragon.....

It's not over until WE say it's over!
Was it over when Germany bombed Pearl Harbor?

Forget it. He's rolling.

As Art travels forward into a more private, personal lifestyle. I just can't get this old Randy Newman song out of my head... Seems the lyrics sum up the way some folks have  cruelly reacted to an old friends needs...
