Most weekend radio is kinda boring, but I like the Cigar Dave Show.  http://www.cigardave.com/
But, maybe that's because I live in Cigar City.

MV/Liberace!

i remember when i used to listen to AM radio religiously, i was always disgusted by the weekend programming.  it was like warm beer.  i mean... because it's the weekend, that means i want to learn how to grow petunias or lay grout?  really?  i always wished they'd stop pulling all of those atrocious weekend shows off of the satellite receiver and pony up a little $$$ for local talent to have a chance at doing a potentially interesting show... or at least run replays of the more solid content from the week (rush).  since terrestrial radio is now dead (or at least dying), i guess it doesn't matter much anymore.

oh, and marc... thanks for taking the initiative in setting up all of these "general" radio threads.  it's the start of good things to come...

Cigar Dave kicks ass! I listen to him every Saturday along with Tony Fatso's BBQ show.

I used to listen to Cigar Dave every week a few years ago. Then the station dropped it. It was a cool show.

I am a lieutenant in the cigar army. I like the Saturday shows on my local NPR staion, particularly Car Talk

Love Bill Handel, and Clark Howard, of course

Our market has good food and cooking shows from time to time. There used to be one with a chef from Salty's on Alki. I forget his name but I learned a lot and got on the show as a caller a few times.

Once I was listening to a super boring Sunday local talk show. The host was talking about the sadness of the recent passing of Pope John Paul II. The guy was practically begging for listener comments but not a single call. Nice guy that I am, I put my garden shovel down, grabbed the cordless and called.

"Caller, you have a comment about the passing of Pope John Paul?"

"Well yeah man, like I just think it's so sad about John Paul dying 'cuz now it's like, only George and Ringo are left right?"

Silence. Click. The crazy thing is that a month or so later I heard it again on a re-broadcast. I'm so proud of my damn self.

I always like to hear the weekend Psudoscience PHD. DC Chiropractor do his thing, then while he's talking about health. Not because I like it, but because I like catching him talk phoney in his BS profession. Some people ask for medical advice, and he has to inform that he is NOT legally eligible to give medical advice, however sometimes he does slip up and do just that.
Acupuncture is another phoney career path.

I don't know who you are listening to, but some of these are infomercials.

The only decent weekend show is Handel on the Law.

Handel is the biggest a-hole I have ever heard on the radio -- and I've heard a few in my time. He completely mocks his callers despite the fact that they may have recently lost their spouse or had their life savings stolen.

A weekend program I don't mind is The Tech Guy with Leo LaPorte. Although it can can get a bit too much with the "what smartphone should I buy?" talk.
