Regular Guest Accountability?

I've had this issue swirling in my head over the last little while, as I shuffle through random Noory-era broadcasts. The issue at hand is one of accountability of the guests that George Noory and the staff invite onto the air on a regular basis.

The fact is that the Coast To Coast AM crew does not keep track of guests and the track record of the things they've said while on the air, and does not hold them accountable to any standard. I can hop on the show and claim that next week I'm going to be visited by little green men who will subsequently decide to play videogames with me for an hour (which is an obvious fabrication... We all know the little green dudes will only play boardgames 8) ) and be invited back in a month's time and nothing will be made of my prior predictions.

To those who still suffer through George's show: I propose that we start up some sort of accountability scoreboard here on the forum for all of George's regulars. From this point forward we should note their predictions (as well as associated timeframes) and see where that goes, if nothing else than for our own personal amusement. What do you guys and gals think?

Great idea. Has Ed Dames been on lately? I propose we start there...

Actually - there was a guest who pretty much said that - dunno about the video games part but it was equally fantastic. the next time he came back he channeled Michael Jackson.

if C2C were an actual news source i would say ... YES CHECK THE FACTS.  but since it's just entertainment i don't see it happening.  guests like Hoaxland, Dames , etc ... are ridiculous enough that all the sane people see through their BS.  this is where i think C2C does a disservice to those who - for whatever reason - aren't readily able to distinguish BS from fact.  in some ways they're enabling some listeners who have detached from reality.  and i think that's a load

Dames replays on "Somewhere in Time" are priceless. So wrong, so often. And Dick Hoagland definitely deserves his own wing in the kook Hall of Fame. Sean David Morton was another who made my skin crawl...and Steve Quayle, who embarrasses that name worse(no mean feat) than the ex-VP.

Good hosts usually cut them off pretty quickly and just change the direction of the show, but of course George Noory would never do that.

I was kind of disappointed during one of Ian's shows with the schizophrenic man who was clearly off of his medication. I wish Ian would've called him out more for doing a 180 from the original topic of discussion.

he could've done that but the guest - being potentially unhinged - may have flipped out on him.  better to just go along with it at that point.  or just go to open lines.  or turn off the antenna and go home

Sigh. I was originally going to go through with this and had a profile for each regular craycray George parades around semi-completed, but unfortunately due to new work projects coming down the line I'm unable to listen on a regular basis. Perhaps when things quiet down I'll finally be able to do this.

This is such a GREAT idea, we cannot let it die.  When you think about it, we could provide our own commentary for the audacious claims of guests who produce a Hoagland, not even covering it up like a cat would.  They need to account for these Hoagies and who better to hold their feet to the fire than us?

You don't have to carry this burden alone, my friend, we nightowls will faithfully report their nonsense.  I was DEFINITELY entertained by the numerous "experts" Coast has produced in the last few days, each of them claiming to have predicted this Japan disaster.  Yes, indeed, back in 1998 their prescience delivered a spectacular vision into George Noory's apocalyptic future and they spake for God, saying, "Yeah, verily, there will be earthquakes..."  and now they are hear to get stroked and petted by George.  Who never fails to deliver the praise.

How about those Web-Bot dudes?  What happened there?  Oh yeah, nothing.

My biggest issue with their "we buy all bullshit" policy is that about twice a year they have someone on that actually brings something useful and reality-based to the table that just happens to be well off the beaten path. But having Noory share airwaves with you is the fastest way to become known as a barking moonbat. Case in point? Glenn Beck was doing real good on tv, then Noory showed up on the screen... All downhill from there! What's really funny is to listen to some of this dipshit guests on replays of Art shows! I think Richard C is probably the worst just because he isn't afraid to make the most insane prediction about things, not happening in the next decade or next year, but maybe next week or even tomorrow! Remember all his crap about the shuttle to be launched powered by torsion physics? He said that while the bird was sitting on the pad being fueled with LH2 and LO2! It's especially funny to me since I have a friend that works in NORCOM and has access to the security info on the cape!

Thanks for introducing this to me.

Roy Buchanan-The Messiah Will Come Again

My pleasure. Roy Buchanan was a brilliant guitarist, but like so many gifted artists-basically self destructed leading to his 1988 demise. I was thrilled when Scorcese chose "Sweet Dreams" as the closing song of "The Departed", finally the man was getting some recognition.

You know when you're walking down the street, and out of somewhere some perfect sound reaches you...A passing vehicle, an bedroom window, an open club door...And you just stand there and let it wash over you...And afterward you reach up and find your cheeks wet...And, inside, you're just at peace...

Yeah, like that.

Gassy Man

I want to know who is vetting the hosts . . . George Norry in particular brings up stuff that one never hear's again.
